Journey to the West: Sun Wukong's Advice System-Chapter 272 - 254: The Demon Returns to the Homeland and the Centennial Turmoil
Chapter 272: Chapter 254: The Demon Returns to the Homeland and the Centennial Turmoil
After the monks dispersed, the Buddha and Ancient Buddha Dipankara went to the back hall of the Great Thunderclap Monastery.
Dipankara said, "World-Honored One, wasn’t Moluo taken beyond the Three Realms by the hands of Luo Tian? How can he come and go in the Three Realms as he pleases?"
"Enough, there’s no need for pretense," the Buddha said with a cold laugh. "Moluo is manifesting his Primordial Spirit in the Three Realms through the World-Ending Black Lotus. His true body is still outside the Three Realms."
Dipankara’s face changed, and a fear he couldn’t suppress surged in his heart. He hadn’t expected Luo Hou to be so terrifying, merely with a thread of Demonic Thought to possess Sakyamuni!
However, on second thought, the true body of Luo Hou outside the domain had already become a Mixed Yuan Daluo Golden Immortal. It was not impossible for him to possess a Quasi-Saint with just a thread of Demonic Thought.
Luo Hou looked at his plump monk’s body and continued, "This fat monk has some abilities—I cannot erase his Primordial Spirit for now, I can only suppress it.
In the future, if there is a need for action in the Buddha Sect, you will take action for me."
Dipankara placed his palms together, "I dare not disobey the World-Honored One’s command."
Luo Hou let out several laughs but then suddenly fell silent.
To be a Buddha when one is a demon, truly a masterful move. Henceforth, Demon will rule over Mount Ling.
But this holy mountain of the Buddha Sect was originally his dojo, Mount Meru; the entire western land of the Vast Wilderness was Demon land!
He thought back to those days when Mount Meru was so magnificent and the Demon Sect was so powerful.
Unfortunately, the war between Dao and Demon destroyed countless spiritual veins of the West and Mount Meru itself.
Today’s Mount Ling, compared to Mount Meru, no, they cannot even be mentioned in the same breath!
Looking at the myriad golden lights and auspicious auras, but in reality, it is all illusory with no substance.
"Hong Jun!" Hatred filled Luo Hou’s eyes.
The Vast Wilderness should have been his place of enlightenment, but in the end, it was taken from him by Hong Jun.
Now that he had returned to his old land, it was time to take it all back!
Having thought this, Luo Hou immediately summoned Jia Ye, the Buddha’s most esteemed disciple. He had already learned of the Buddha Sect’s recent actions and knew that Jia Ye was Sakyamuni’s most trusted disciple.
After Jia Ye arrived, he respectfully bowed, "Disciple bows before the Buddha, and bows before Ancient Buddha Dipankara."
In the guise of the Buddha, Luo Hou spoke softly, "I have called you here to adjust the previous arrangement. I have decided to support the establishment of a great unified human dynasty in the West."
Upon hearing this, Jia Ye was naturally overjoyed, yet he was also puzzled.
Last time he went to the Eastern Land to support Wang Mang in establishing a country and to build numerous Buddhist temples, but it ended in failure.
After he and the national advisor Wang Bodhisattva returned to the Buddha Sect, and the monks heard there was hope for the human realm to manifest, Guanyin Bodhisattva suggested supporting a human dynasty in Western Cattle Gift Continent so that they could compete with the human dynasties of the Southern Sufficient Continent for the fate of the human path.
He also mentioned Liu Xiu’s method of cross-breeding rice, stating that this method could lead to an abundance of food and a population explosion, thereby fighting for a chance to take charge.
But unexpectedly, the Buddha rejected the proposal to support the establishment of a human dynasty in the West, saying that the West was originally Demon land, and only because of the Buddhist Law promoting good and suppressing evil could beings there adhere to their true nature.
If they were to follow the Eastern Land’s method of establishing a kingdom, then the sea of evil would form and the Demon land would reemerge.
For the root of evil lies in the variability of human hearts—one person, one village, one city, one nation; the more people there are, the more mixed the thoughts, and if gathered together, a sea of evil would be born from it.
That was where Jia Ye’s confusion lay.
He later proposed not to establish a unified human dynasty but to spread the Dharma in various small countries in the West, and to promote cross-breeding rice, to increase the populations of various countries and greatly promote the Buddhist Law.
The Buddha agreed to this proposal.
In recent years, he had indeed made some achievements, increasing the incense and faith for the Buddha Sect, yet compared to the Han Dynasty, which had become the dominating force, it seemed somewhat inconspicuous.
But now the Buddha had decided to change course, and establish a human dynasty in the West. Was he not worried that the West would become Demon land?
With many thoughts flashing through his mind, Jia Ye asked about his confusion.
Luo Hou explained, "Times have changed. Now that Moluo has manifested and a calamity is imminent, the West must become strong quickly to face the forthcoming calamity."
Jia Ye understood that compared to the possibility of the West becoming Demon land, preparing for the calamity was most crucial.
And after manifestation of the human path, if they could establish a great unified dynasty like the Han Dynasty, it would indeed make the West much stronger.
Then Luo Hou added, "Furthermore, I have found a method to deal with the issue of the West turning into Demon land, you just need to go ahead with the plan."
Jia Ye harbored no more doubt and with his hands pressed together, he said, "Disciple will carefully follow the Buddha’s decree!"
Dipankara watched from the side, but in his heart, he was clear on Luo Hou’s true intentions.
This was about competing with the Han Dynasty for the fate of the human path. Once the West also had a dynasty, they could seize the opportunity to take control of the human realm and thus break open the Luo Tian Seal!
With the fixed number of Heaven favoring the spread of Buddhism, the Heavenly Court certainly would not openly obstruct it, and so the only opponent to the West would be the Han Dynasty.
After receiving the Buddha’s decree, Jia Ye vigorously brought in various inventions and technologies from the Han Dynasty to strengthen the countries of the West.
He also saw the potential of martial arts and, using the opportunity provided by the Buddha Sect to spread Dharma within the Han territory, he introduced martial arts to the West.
Having learned from two previous failed attempts to spread the Dharma, Jia Ye was cautious. Although he zealously learned from the Han Dynasty, he never revealed the intention to establish a unified dynasty in the West.
Only when the time was ripe, he would change the entire Three Realms’ situation in one fell swoop.
In other words, he wanted to make a sensational debut!
In fact, in addition to the Buddha Sect learning and introducing martial arts, various powers of the Three Realms were studying it as well, all wanting to know what kind of cultivation pathway Sun Wukong had created that could attract merit from the Great Path?
...
Chang’an City gained a new Ancestral Martial Palace, which was Sun Wukong’s foothold in the Great Han.
Ever since he had passed on the true essence of martial arts for the divine and true god realms to Liu Xiu, he had settled down in Chang’an for the time being, guiding Liu Xiu’s cultivation while continuing to deduce the subsequent realms of martial arts.
When he learned that all parties were studying martial arts, he did not intervene.
Just like when Hong Jun lectured three times at Purple Cloud Palace, teaching the immortal way to all races of the Vast Wilderness, in the future, all martial artists must acknowledge Sun Wukong as the Ancestral Martial and owe him a cause and effect!
"Hehe, the more martial artists, the better," Wukong savored the feeling of being revered as an ancestor, which was even more exhilarating than a great battle!
When he deduced a martial art equivalent to the Daluo Golden Immortal realm in the future, he would, like Hong Jun, hold a lecture to teach and spread the law throughout the world!
One day, the Demon King came to visit, both to seek personal instruction in martial arts cultivation and to inform him about the recent situation changes in the Western Cattle Gift Continent.
The truth behind martial arts created by Sun Wukong was suited for all races, and it seemed the bloodline of Niu Demon King’s Mang Ox clan was inherently compatible with martial arts cultivation.
After learning martial arts on his own, the Demon King had made rapid advances along this path and had now reached the divine realm, even earlier than Liu Xiu’s breakthrough, and his strength had thus been further enhanced.
It could be said that the one who most wished Sun Wukong to succeed in deducing the next realm of martial arts was the Demon King himself.
After seeking advice this time, the Demon King could not help but praise, "The method of the Ancestral Martial benefits all living beings!"
Wukong felt quite gratified and thus gave the Demon King a few more pointers.
The Demon King meditated deeply on them before describing the recent changes in the Western Cattle Gift Continent to Sun Wukong, "Actually, over the past decades, Jia Ye has been teaching the Buddha’s law throughout various countries in the West, increasing the Buddha Sect’s faith there.
They not only built numerous Buddhist temples, but also shared various inventions and technology from the Great Han with the Western countries.
I am not clear about the situation in the depths of the Western Cattle Gift Continent’s kingdoms, but the national powers of nearby kingdoms like the Sacrificial Country, Western Liang Women Country, and others have grown considerably stronger. I presume the same is true for the other kingdoms."
After hearing this, Wukong’s alert eyes rolled thoughtfully, as he scratched his face, then instructed, "Regardless of the Buddha’s Sect purpose, you must ensure your territory is well-guarded and not fall into their hands."
The Demon King nodded in agreement.
Wukong indeed had not figured out what the Buddha Sect intended because he had previously heard the words of the Tathagata Buddha himself, which said that the West was originally Devil’s land, where no unified dynasty could be established.
Of course, this did not prevent him from making the worst contingency plans to be prepared in advance.
...
In the blink of an eye, another hundred years passed.
At the foot of Mount Ling, there was a country known as Tianzhu Country.
On this day, the capital Shravasti was shrouded in white mourning as the old king had passed away, and Prince Zhou Kao ascended the throne as the King of Tianzhu.
After the coronation ceremony concluded, Jia Ye came to the palace to meet the new king.
He had greatly supported Tianzhu Country over the years, having watched over every king of Tianzhu grow up for over a hundred years, so he already knew Zhou Kao well.
He smiled and asked, "I wonder if Your Majesty has any interest in unifying the West?"
Zhou Kao was startled by these words and stood up, saying, "What does the Supreme One mean? Could the Buddha Sect be willing to assist my Tianzhu Country?"
Jia Ye laughed, "The many kingdoms of Western Cattle Gift Continent are scattered like stars, with frequent strife causing much killing. If they could be united under one nation, then there would be peace under heaven."
Zhou Kao bowed solemnly, "I wish to appoint the Supreme One as the national teacher!"
Jia Ye nodded with a smile, after plotting for a hundred years, now the time was ripe to unify the West.
After Jia Ye left, Zhou Kao, wearing a dark red king’s crown, sat in the dim palace hall, bent his head and pondered for a while. Then suddenly, a cold smirk appeared on his face. "It has begun at last!"
All he had lost before and everything he had wanted to gain, he would now take into his hands!
At present, Tianzhu could not compete with the national power of the Great Han, but looking at the Western Cattle Gift Continent, it was a different story. If one could unify a continent and elevate Tianzhu to a ruling dynasty, with the help of the Buddha Sect, the future held great promise.
After all, Heaven ordained the prosperity of Buddha, to compensate the West!
In comparison with the Great Han, the Heavenly Dao stood with the West, just as it had with Great Zhou during the Divine Enthronement wars.
Subsequently, the situation in the Western Cattle Gift Continent began to change dramatically.
Pushed by the Buddha Sect, Tianzhu Country, Dharma-Destroying Country, Bhiksu Country, Vermilion Purple Country, and other Western nations formed a united dynasty under their shared Buddha Sect faith, named the Tianzhu Dynasty.
But there were dissenters, such as the Sacrificial Country and Western Liang Women Country, close to the Demon King’s territory.
The news reached Tianzhu, and Jia Ye was not surprised; he looked at King Zhou Kao of Tianzhu.
Zhou Kao glanced at the gathered human destiny above Shravasti and, regarding these dissenters, uttered just one word: "Attack!"
