Chapter 401: Chapter 401 Chaos Pavilion Grand Opening

"Sorry, sorry, it was my fault," Nuwa said, her face flushed with embarrassment.

"I was speaking nonsense earlier. Please don’t mind me. I’ll take my leave now and visit again when I have the chance."

After saying that, Nuwa hurried off, forgetting all about Xuan Feng who was left behind.

Xuan Feng was very naive; she hadn’t really understood the conversation between Nuwa and Chen Nuo from the start. Seeing Nuwa leaving in a hurry, she also quickly followed suit.

"That’s weird."

Sun Wukong entered from outside, "Why did Nuwa leave in such a rush? And she was covering her face too. Master, what did you do?"

"What did I do?" Chen Nuo said with a helpless look, "Do all saints have such wild imaginations?"

"Oh, I get it," Sun Wukong suddenly understood what had happened, "Did you say something that Nuwa misunderstood, Master?"

"Exactly," Chen Nuo replied with the same helpless look, "I just wanted to thank her for the inspiration she gave for the store’s advertisement slogan. Suddenly she began to decline me, and had I not realised what was going on, I would have thought someone had used my face to do something behind my back."

As he said this, Sun Wukong remembered the joke he made earlier at Nuwa’s Mansion about wanting Nuwa to be his master’s wife.

He chuckled sheepishly, "It’s just that your charm is too great, Master. With your extraordinary looks, exceptional skills, and high cultivation, it’s no surprise a few admirers are inevitable."

"Alright, stop with the flattering," Chen Nuo stood up from his seat, "Originally I planned to make various kinds of beverages, but now I’ve completely forgotten about that."

"Then you should get to it, Master. I’ll keep an eye on things here," Sun Wukong said.

"Right," Chen Nuo nodded, "Take care of the customers this afternoon for me. I need to work on the preparations for the store opening."

"No problem, Master, leave it to me," Sun Wukong assured him as he cleaned up the table.

Chen Nuo went into the storeroom to start preparing the necessities for the opening of the store.

Buddhism had already been notified and Maitreya was in the loop; the Heavenly Court had instantly agreed thanks to Haotian, who even allocated the space, all set for the store’s launch.

Chen Nuo had originally planned for a simple stall, but since there was to be a store, it had to be done well. He tapped on the system.

He exchanged Merit Points for some machines, and although he thought about using Merit Points for the ingredients as well, he already had bronze vessels and all sorts of iron containers which could be easily turned into stainless steel with a little spell work.

Although there were plenty of Merit Points, it was still best to save them where it wasn’t necessary to use them.

Next up were advertising boards and the like. It was the Tang Dynasty period, and the mortal realm was flourishing, so signage was naturally available.

But compared to modern signs, there were some differences. Between conservative and aggressive styles, Chen Nuo ultimately chose the aggressive. If he was going to do it, it had to be done well.

The lighted signboards were still obtained with Merit Points, except that instead of electricity, Spiritual Power was used.

Spiritual Power was wonderful stuff, much like photosynthesis, capable of being self-sustaining, which saved a great deal of trouble.

With the exterior set, Chen Nuo moved on to the beverages.

Ready-to-use items included tapioca pearls and taro balls; others like pudding, coconut jelly, and grass jelly could also be made with some effort.

However, teas also needed preparation. They weren’t difficult to make, but compared to milk teas that just required adding some toppings, the process was a bit more complex.

Sun Wukong could handle it, but it was somewhat difficult for Tian Peng, and it wouldn’t be fair to just have him do the simple tasks.

After much thought, Chen Nuo decided to place the production images in a prominent position so they could be referred to while making the beverages. As long as the ingredients were prepared, the rest could be done by following these images, making it possible for even a seven-year-old child to make them.

As for the promotional images and flyers, Chen Nuo simply tapped the system and used a few points of Merit to print them out exactly as he envisioned.

Once everything was ready, the small area Chen Nuo had cleared out in the storeroom was now packed with all the equipment needed for the shop’s opening.

The next day, Sun Wukong and Tian Peng brought all the items to the Heavenly Court.

"Have you heard? Those kinds of shops from the mortal world have made their way to our Heavenly Court."

"How could I not know about such a big deal? But the shop isn’t located in our Southern Heavenly Court; it’s between Buddhism and the Heavenly Court. I reckon it was approved by the higher-ups."

"Indeed, it had to be approved by the higher-ups. Otherwise, who would have the guts to bring a mortal shop to the Heavenly Court? Without approval, it’s not something that could be accomplished merely by being bold."

"Well, you guys are not well-informed. Do you know who’s opening the shop?"

"Who?"

"Chaos Residence’s Shopkeeper Chen’s disciple, Sun Wukong, the one who made eight of Buddha’s disciples break their precepts during the Dharma feast."

"Oh, him. That’s not interesting then. I thought it would be something fresh."

The gossiping immortals immediately lost interest. They might have indulged in the gossip had it been someone else.

But since it was Chaos Residence, it was not surprising. It seemed that as long as the sky didn’t fall, whatever Chaos Residence did was considered reasonable.

And so, Sun Wukong and Tian Peng opened their milk tea shop outside.

The milk tea shop looked like an ordinary house from the outside, but its signboard was particularly eye-catching. The name "Chaos Pavilion" was unusually large and glowed brightly, with a giant milk tea cup decoration on the side, and another milk tea cup decoration outside the shop.

Even though it was always daytime here, the signboard was illuminated with colorful lights.

Despite the perpetual daylight, the signboard was especially conspicuous. Sun Wukong and Tian Peng, dressed in specially made uniforms, stood outside the shop, distributing flyers to passing immortals and Buddhists.

The flyers listed various beverage names, with the two main recommended drinks even having pictures of the finished products.

The images were so vivid and realistic that just one glance made it clear the beverages would be delicious.

Although the Buddhists harbored reservations against Sun Wukong, they didn’t show it outwardly. After all, the matter had passed, and the Buddha Ancestor hadn’t said anything.

Even turning a blind eye to allow him to open a shop here meant that, regardless of how much they disliked Sun Wukong, they wouldn’t start a fight with him right there.

Of course, not all Buddhists chose to ignore the shop. Some with slightly hotter tempers confronted Sun Wukong directly.

"What’s this, Sun Monkey? Isn’t it enough that you caused eight of my brothers to break their vows and fall into the mortal realm? Now you want to harm more of our brethren? Who knows what you might have added in here?"

Sun Wukong snorted, "I have to say, your courage is really too small. My shop is right here and isn’t going anywhere. Besides, since I’ve given you the flyers, you can definitely drink our products openly and honorably."

"Drink openly and honorably? Ha!" the Buddhist disciple scoffed. "Let me tell you, you think you’re going to do business with our Buddhists? No way, that’s simply not going to happen."
