Chapter 398: Chapter 398 Chaos Residence Becomes Famous

"Shopkeeper, didn’t you say that even if I don’t go, they would find other ways to force me to go?" Tian Peng asked.

"They would use other methods, but if you truly don’t want to go, then I also have a way to prevent you from going. Whether you go or not ultimately depends on you."

"Hasn’t my master already made that clear?" Sun Wukong said. "Now make your decision, to go or not to go?"

Tian Peng almost without hesitation expressed his thoughts, "I don’t want to go."

Chen Nuo nodded, "Good, I understand."

"May I ask what method you would use?"

Tian Peng had just recovered from a shock. Though he had simply said he wouldn’t go, his heart was still somewhat shaken by the matter.

Had he really been chosen to be part of the Journey to the West? With so many outstanding candidates, why would Buddha Ancestor choose him?

"You don’t need to know the method. I’m assigning you to open a shop with Sun Wukong in the Heavenly Court. Remember never to leave Wukong’s side. Even if there’s an urgent matter, remember to report to Sun Wukong first," Chen Nuo advised Tian Peng about the arrangements.

"Okay, I understand. I won’t leave Mr. Monkey’s side, not even for half a step," Tian Peng nodded. "Do you have anything else, Shopkeeper Chen?"

"That’s all."

"Then I will take my leave first. The impact of this matter is just too great; I need to go back and digest it," Tian Peng stood up. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

Sun Wukong snorted, "I think you aren’t going to digest it, but to show off."

Tian Peng chuckled twice, "You really know me, Mr. Monkey."

"You’d better digest it well. But I’m telling you, since you’ve made this decision, you can’t regret it. When the time comes, even if you do regret, we won’t do anything more for you," Sun Wukong said earnestly.

"Don’t worry, Mr. Monkey. Although achieving Buddhahood would be a good thing for me, having the reputation as an assistant at Chaos Residence holds more weight in my heart than becoming a Buddha," Tian Peng replied cheerfully.

"Not just in your heart, that’s just how it is," Sun Wukong snorted again.

"Exactly, exactly, you’re right, Mr. Monkey. I didn’t think it through enough," Tian Peng chuckled twice more, then bowed to Chen Nuo and left.

During the time Sun Wukong returned, Chaos Residence was bustling with activity.

Sun Wukong’s performance at the Buddhism Dharma feast, together with a serving of Buddha Jumps Over the Wall, caused eight Buddhist disciples to break their precepts, with two almost succeeding.

This made Buddha Jumps Over the Wall and Sun Wukong of Chaos Residence instantly famous throughout the Four Seas, bringing many people to Chaos Residence for a meal.

Chen Nuo was particular about making Buddha Jumps Over the Wall. It wasn’t something he would make for just anyone; plus, the dish was exceptionally pricey. Those who couldn’t afford Chen Nuo’s Buddha Jumps Over the Wall came specifically for Sun Wukong instead.

Sun Wukong had a bad temper. Sometimes, making too many dishes would irritate him, and he would even lose his temper at the guests who came looking for him. But this did not deter people from eating his cooking.

Everyone understood well that capable people often have tempers.

The worse Sun Wukong’s temper appeared to be, the more people came to dine at his place, and over time it became a cycle.

It was also Sun Wukong’s consideration for his master; he took on all the guests he could handle by himself.

Although the number of customers coming to Chaos Residence only increased, Chen Nuo remained as leisurely as ever.

Nuwa had been waiting for the milk tea to go on sale ever since she last drank it, waiting for a long time, but it never came. Finally, unable to hold back any longer, she came to Chaos Residence.

Sun Wukong was sweating profusely as he cooked in the kitchen. Glancing up, he saw the grandly dressed Nuwa and Xuan Feng through the kitchen’s small window, "Well, what kind of wind has blown in here, to bring you along?"

"How come you don’t say it’s the delicious smell of the dishes that Sun Monkey is cooking that’s driven me here?"

Sun Wukong looked at Nuwa in surprise. Normally, Nuwa was too proud and aloof; she would have walked past without a word if she heard him speak like that. So what had gotten into her that she actually responded to his remark?

"Where is your master?" Nuwa looked around, searching for the figure of Chen Nuo, "I heard that these past days, Chaos Residence has been quite tumultuous. Your master must be incredibly busy, right?"

Sun Wukong then understood; Nuwa was here for his master.

It made sense too; his master was so amazing and excellent that even an ancient goddess would fall for his skills.

"Goddess is asking you a question. Why aren’t you speaking, you monkey?" Seeing Sun Wukong stay silent, Xuan Feng spoke up to prompt him.

Sun Wukong had been cooking all morning. Even though the kitchen was kept cool with mana, being busy for so long inevitably wore him out, and it’s easy to become irritable when tired.

Plus, he had always been the impatient type. Hearing Xuan Feng’s quite impolite words,

set Sun Wukong’s temper off immediately, "I don’t know. If you want to find my master, go look for him yourself. Why ask me? I’m busy right now, so don’t talk to me."

"Hey, what’s wrong with you, monkey? Goddess Nuwa graces us with her presence and you don’t even bother to greet her, let alone speak such impolite words. What’s the meaning of this?" Xuan Feng, dissatisfied with Sun Wukong’s attitude, stepped forward to confront him.

With a swing of the spatula in his hand, Sun Wukong actually trapped Xuan Feng in place, "I’m already exhausted, and here you are, insisting on talking to me. Aren’t you just asking to be scolded?"

"You, you insolent monkey! Release me this instant or you’ll regret it!" Xuan Feng warned, as she unleashed her divine skills.

Fierce flames burst from her wings, and the temperature where she stood rose instantly. It was fortunate that Nuwa was beside her, and not someone else, otherwise, the flames would definitely have reduced them to ashes.

Sun Wukong showed no reaction, and the room he was in remained just as it was before.

After finishing cooking the dish, Sun Wukong didn’t know where he pulled out a string of chicken wings from and began roasting them towards Xuan Feng.

The temperature was just right; the surface of the chicken wings was lightly coated with oil and grilled to crispy perfection.

The color gradually transitioned from white to golden, and Sun Wukong even took out honey to coat the chicken wings, instantly making them irresistibly fragrant.

"You can turn up the heat a bit more," Sun Wukong said indifferently.

These words sounded especially grating in Xuan Feng’s ears, and what was more important was that her awakened divine skills had absolutely no effect on Sun Wukong. Even Nuwa was taken aback by this.

"I’ve only seen you cook before, but I never expected your cultivation to be so profound that not even Xuan Feng’s flames could affect you."

Sun Wukong scoffed with disdain, "Of course, don’t you see how her divine skills were awakened? Yet she expects to harm the people of Chaos Residence. She is truly ungrateful."

Nuwa also felt that Xuan Feng’s actions were inappropriate. Hearing Sun Wukong speak like that, she quickly suppressed Xuan Feng’s flames with her own mana, "Enough, Xuan Feng, that’s enough."

Xuan Feng felt wronged, "Goddess, it was clearly Sun Wukong who was being unreasonable. Why are you only scolding me?"

"Enough, make another scene and you’ll be confined on return," Nuwa said sternly, "This is Chaos Residence, not our mansion. You should restrain yourself."

Hearing Nuwa say this, Xuan Feng pursed her lips and fell silent.
