Journey to the West: Starting by taking Sun Wukong as my disciple!-Chapter 251: Bestowing a Treasure upon Wukong
"Amitabha!" the Buddhas hastily followed suit in returning the gesture.
Speaking of the grand event, they were all brimming with enthusiasm. After all, why had most of them joined Buddhism?
Wasn’t it for the promise of a Buddha’s destiny and the flourishing of Buddhism? By then, as Buddhas themselves, they would benefit immensely.
Otherwise, why would they have forsaken the Tao to follow Buddhism?
For a moment, the entire Spirit Mountain echoed with the sound of Buddhist chants.
However, on the great hall, there was a monk of handsome appearance who seemed lost in thought, silent, his eyes filled with interest.
At the Buddhist feast, there would be an exchange of Buddhist Law. Could he, then, also present his own insights?
He had accumulated many unique understandings of the Buddhist Law, and what better occasion to share them than at such a grand assembly like the Buddhist feast? 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
Perhaps, his master would then regard him with new respect.
The handsome monk thought to himself, feeling excited.
This monk, standing in the great hall without any official rank, was none other than Tathagata’s second disciple, Jin Chanzi.
The Buddhas discussed the many aspects of the upcoming Buddhist feast in turns.
Everything seemed to be waiting for the day the Buddhist feast would begin.
"Not bad, to think that Wukong you could master Buddha Jumps Over the Wall in such a short time. It seems you haven’t neglected your culinary practice on ordinary days."
Chen Nuo did not eat the Buddha Jumps Over the Wall set before him.
But just by looking at the dish’s color, smelling its aroma, gauging the heat of the fire, and the steps taken during cooking, Chen Nuo could tell its quality.
Wukong mastering it so quickly was beyond his expectations.
Sun Wukong scratched his head and grinned sheepishly, saying, "It’s all thanks to the good teaching of Master."
"You sly monkey," Chen Nuo rolled his eyes at him, then quickly admonished, "Although you’ve managed to produce a complete dish, you have a long way to go before reaching perfection. Make sure you don’t neglect your practice and become arrogant and complacent."
Upon hearing this, Sun Wukong solemnly nodded, "Disciple understands, I will never disappoint Master."
He was determined to follow in his master’s footsteps and fulfill his master’s instructions to the best of his ability.
Seeing Sun Wukong like this, Chen Nuo felt a touch of satisfaction. After all, Wukong was his disciple, far superior to his original tempestuous nature in numerous ways.
Chen Nuo tapped his fingers lightly on the tabletop, producing a ’tap tap’ sound. Now that everything was ready, all that was left was for the Buddhist feast to commence.
Presumably, Buddhism was also waiting for Wukong to fall into their trap.
A cold smile curled at the corners of his mouth, but unfortunately, all their calculations were destined to be futile.
With a thought, Chen Nuo took out a talisman, and guided by mana, it floated in front of Sun Wukong.
"This is for you," Chen Nuo said indifferently. "You know how to use it, right?"
Sun Wukong looked at the talisman in front of him, briefly stunned, then hurriedly said, "I know!"
Wasn’t this the very Three Realms Transport Talisman that Master had given to his junior sister?
"Take it."
"Yes!" Sun Wukong respectfully received it with both hands.
Before Wukong could fully react, Chen Nuo started to take out other items. It was a large pot with an ancient design that didn’t lack elegance, radiating flowing light, and the entire body of the pot was imbued with mysterious Qi.
Sun Wukong’s pupils constricted. Wasn’t this the cooking utensil his master used? But why?
Chen Nuo pondered for a moment before saying, "This is your master’s exclusive cooking utensil, Divine Marvel. Take it."
Wukong did not show joy but instead looked worried, waving his hands repeatedly, "Master, this is your cooking utensil, I can’t accept it!"
Though he longed for an unparalleled cooking utensil, he had never coveted anything of his master’s.
"I hadn’t planned to give it to you," Chen Nuo said, somewhat exasperated. "I’m lending it to you. Use this pot to cook at the Buddhist feast, and it will enhance the quality of your dishes."
"If you encounter danger, hold it above your head, and it will also keep you safe,"
After giving away his set of fine cookware, what would he use?
For a short while, he could make do with a normal pot.
Sun Wukong let out a sigh of relief. It wasn’t given directly to him, which was good, but still.
Sun Wukong blinked, somewhat puzzled, and cautiously asked, "Master, aren’t we being a little too cautious?"
"I’m just going to the Buddhism to be a head chef and cook. Is all this caution really necessary?"
That Maitreya seems quite festive at first glance; whenever he seeks me out, he’s always merrily clamoring for meat—it looks like he’s a rather amiable person. What danger could there be in Buddhism?
Watching Sun Wukong, who took his good intentions for an ungrateful heart, Chen Nuo’s mouth twitched.
You know that you’re going to Buddhism, and you still have the nerve to ask?
Chen Nuo guaranteed that if it hadn’t been for his failure to inform Wukong of his original destiny, he would’ve absolutely smacked this monkey into the ground by now.
His expression darkening, Chen Nuo slammed his hand down on the table with a loud bang. Of all those who had been to Chaos Residence, only Chen Nuo, the shopkeeper, dare to slam the table so loudly.
"If I tell you to hold onto it, you hold onto it!"
The monkey was so startled by the slam that he trembled in silence.
"Yes! Yes!" Sun Wukong nodded so vigorously his head almost left afterimages.
"If your cooking isn’t good and it loses face for my Chaos Residence—"
"Buddhists mainly eat vegetarian food, and vegetarian dishes are relatively your weak point. Using this pot, you can improve the quality of the dishes you make,"
Chen Nuo instructed lightly.
Each time he cooked, he could randomly enhance the four types of Qi quality of the cookware he used.
Merit Qi, Innate Qi, Hongmeng Qi, Chaos Qi.
After more than a decade of accumulation, what was originally an acquired low-grade Spiritual Treasure has now, through the accumulated Innate Qi, defied the acquired and become a top-grade Innate Merit Spiritual Treasure.
This pot has now become more than just a cooking utensil. When wielded and suspended above the head, it can block various attacks and is extremely powerful.
If this pot were to be discovered in the Three Realms, everyone would be moved by it; who would still care that it’s just a cooking pot?
The only pity is that this person never received Hongmeng Qi or Chaos Qi, as compared to the first two, these two types of Qi are evidently more precious.
After all, the Hongmeng Qi refers to none other than the Hongmeng Purple Qi, the foundation of the Saints of the Heavenly Tao!
Of course, Chen Nuo, though unlucky, was not without gains. In these ten years, even he, Chen Nuo, was amazed that the kitchen knife among his utensils had also burst forth a wisp of Hongmeng Purple Qi.
Coupled with the inherent sharpness of the Knife Series Spiritual Treasure and its elevation to the rank of a top-grade Innate Merit Spiritual Treasure.
The kitchen knife he used was now the strongest among these three pieces of cookware.
Considering Wukong had already awakened a number of Combat Supernatural Powers, Chen Nuo decided not to offer this one. Besides, even if he did, with Wukong’s current strength, he wouldn’t be able to overcome the numerous Buddhas of Spirit Mountain, let alone Tathagata, who was present as a late-stage Quasi-Saint.
After a moment’s contemplation, Chen Nuo spoke up, "With this pot, you can harness some of its power, and you don’t have to worry about mana consumption."
"Take it, and when the time comes, use this pot to bring honor to my Chaos Residence."
With Wukong’s current standards, plus the aid of Spirit Fruits, he could elevate the quality of ’Buddha Jumps Over the Wall’ to an excellent level.
Jars opened, the aroma of meat spread, inspiring even Buddha to abandon meditation and leap over walls?
Chen Nuo smiled faintly, looking forward to it.
Seeing that Chen Nuo had said so much, Sun Wukong had no choice but to accept it. After all, this was a matter of bringing honor to the Chaos Residence—he had to be extremely careful!
With the blessing of his master’s Spirit Fruit, his cooking would surely be even more effortless.
He treasured the Spirit Fruit as if it were a priceless treasure.
Chen Nuo sat in his seat, stretching out his hand towards Sun Wukong.
