Journey to the West: Starting by taking Sun Wukong as my disciple!-Chapter 159: You Can Actually Add Ingredients to Hot Pot!
"If only I could awaken a divine skill that shifts my cultivation to someone else’s body."
"Then I’d definitely come to eat here every day."
Goddess Golden Spirit’s face was full of anticipation and hope.
All the women: "..."
Given Big Sister’s temperament, if she really did awaken such a divine skill, it would be nothing short of a disaster for the entire Three Realms.
"Big Sister, Junior Sister, from now on, if you need money for anything, just tell me!" Zhao Gongming patted the Treasure Basin beside him with a domineering air, causing a humming sound to resonate.
He, Zhao Gongming, is a wealthy man!
Merely a meager ten thousand taels of gold like this?
Ao Ling was only mildly interested, looking somewhat disdainful, as gold and silver were commonplace in his Dragon Palace.
A mere ten thousand taels of gold was nothing but a drop in the ocean; even the gemstones in his personal collection were each priceless treasures.
Just thinking about it made Ao Ling’s heart ache; these were the items she had meticulously chosen from the Dragon Palace’s treasury, and not a single one was not a peerless treasure.
The fact that she had spent several of those treasures on just meals over the past few days genuinely pained her!
With a tinge of sadness in her eyes, Ao Ling thought, had she known this would happen, she would have definitely used her father’s collection to cover the expenses first.
Having had his fun, Zhao Gongming put the Treasure Basin away.
"Shopkeeper, could you replace these chopsticks for me?" Zhao Gongming asked, pointing to the golden chopsticks in his hand.
"Damaging the restaurant’s property incurs a fine equivalent to the cost of one meal," Chen Nuo said calmly.
Er...
With an awkward scratch of his head and a sheepish smile on his face, Zhao Gongming accepted his blunder.
"Shopkeeper, I’ll deactivate my divine skill right now."
However, before Zhao Gongming could use his divine skill again, Chen Nuo interrupted him.
"Would that make any difference? You’ve already transformed it; even if you revert it back, it’s no longer the same chopsticks as before. If someone beats you up and then treats your injuries to reduce the swelling, does that mean you weren’t beaten?"
Chen Nuo posed a penetrating question to his soul.
Zhao Gongming opened his mouth, unable to come up with any rebuttal.
After a few seconds of silence, he dutifully paid up.
Since awakening his divine skill, Chen Nuo’s image in everyone’s minds had become even more mysterious and grand. Zhao Gongming didn’t dare to question him; he was even more afraid of irritating Chen Nuo and losing his privilege to dine at Chaos Residence—that would drive him insane.
"Shopkeeper Chen! Can we order more for the hotpot? These aren’t enough!" Bixiao cleared off the last plate of ingredients and still seemed to want more.
"Little Junior Sister, you’ve finished eating already?!" Zhao Gongming was agape in amazement. He had been too immersed in his joy earlier to notice that there seemed to be plenty left, how did she manage to eat it all so quickly?
How could Zhao Gongming know of the terrifying speed at which Bixiao could consume food once she unleashed her divine skill?
After all, she was the woman who Chen Nuo had dubbed the Lightning Speed Glutton Wolf—horrifying indeed.
"What do you mean ’finished eating already’? What are you trying to say, Big Brother?" Bixiao’s eyes widened, clearly offended.
So what if she eats quickly? So what if she eats a lot? Eating heartily is nothing to be ashamed of!
"No, nothing," Zhao Gongming chuckled dryly, not daring to provoke this lawless little Junior Sister.
"You can add ingredients to the hotpot, but each addition will be charged at the original price," Chen Nuo pondered for a moment before replying.
Initially he had thought to treat the hotpot like the other dishes, allowing only one order per person.
But then he considered that hotpot was more suitable for a group, and one serving of ingredients certainly wouldn’t be enough, so he specially made an exception to the rule.
"Oh, yay!" Bixiao was overjoyed.
She had casually inquired without any real expectation since all of Chaos Residence’s dishes were limited to one serving. She had not anticipated an exception for the hotpot.
"I want three servings! No, four! Actually, make it five!" Bixiao declared directly.
"Can you even finish that much?" Zhao Gongming couldn’t help but comment.
"If I can’t finish, I can give it to Big Sister and the others. Am I supposed to just let Big Brother eat ours?" Bixiao retorted without conceding a point.
She was determined to eat him out of house and home today; her divine skill Abyss Devouring was ravenous.
Watching the eager Bixiao, Zhao Gongming’s forehead broke out in a cold sweat. Why did he feel like the money in the Treasure Basin might not be enough in the future...
Chen Nuo also smiled and chimed in at the right time, "The one who orders the fire pot should be charged according to their rates."
Precision strike!
Zhao Gongming gasped, another fifty thousand taels of gold gone—spending money should not be like this, after all.
But in front of so many people, saving face was more important.
Ding, fifty thousand gold received.
Chen Nuo was in high spirits, using mana to clear away the empty plates on everyone’s table. With a sweep of his sleeve, fresh ingredients once again appeared in quintuplicate.
The group once again submerged themselves in the festivity of the fire pot, even Zhao Gongming, who had spent the most that day, temporarily forgot his pain.
As they ate to their heart’s content, the conversation also heated up.
Golden Spirit Goddess said cheerfully, "The traitorous Long-eared Rabbit died a while ago!"
"He died?!" Both Zhao Gongming and Goddess Wudang were astonished.
Following that, excitement gleamed in Zhao Gongming’s eyes. The Long-Ear Dingguang Thief’s final betrayal had essentially overturned the whole battle situation, leaving his Jie School without any hope of recovery.
Even though he was listed among the early ranks, upon hearing this news, he wished he could storm Spirit Mountain and tear the dead rabbit to pieces.
If it weren’t for Buddhism protecting the damned rabbit so well, plus the rabbit never showing himself after the Investiture of the Gods, he would have attacked Buddhism long ago!
"Who killed him?!" Zhao Gongming blurted out.
Wudang also looked intently at Golden Spirit Goddess.
Seeing both of them so eager, Golden Spirit shrugged her shoulders, nudged towards the Three Xiaos with a pout, and said with a light laugh, "Of course it was our junior sisters!"
Junior sisters killed him?
Wudang and Zhao Gongming simultaneously turned their gazes toward the Three Xiaos, their eyes filled with shock.
Golden Spirit then elaborated on the whole sequence of events.
"Well done!" Zhao Gongming slammed the table in excitement, releasing a hearty snort.
"If you break it, you’ll be fined," Chen Nuo’s voice floated from behind Zhao Gongming.
Zhao Gongming shivered all over, his face smeared with an awkward smile, and his hand, which had been slapped hard on the table, retracted as if electrocuted.
He bowed his head and gently exhaled, then wiped the table with his sleeve.
"It’s not broken! Not broken!" His words were laced with a self-mocking cheer.
Chen Nuo rolled his eyes; if he weren’t willing, even a Saint would be unable to break this table.
Such a coward.
Yunxiao nodded gently, her tender voice also carrying satisfaction, "We were lucky, happened to come across that traitor!"
"Haha! Such good news deserves celebration!" Zhao Gongming laughed heartily, raising the Flat Peach soda in his hand.
Everyone drank heartily.
Downing one drink, Wudang suddenly felt a tinge of sadness, "If only Gui Ling senior sister were here too."
As soon as she said this, everyone became noticeably more somber. Yes, if only she were still here. Even being listed on the Investiture of the Gods would at least allow them to meet, but Gui Ling’s very essence had dissipated.
"The most hateful one is Duo Bao!" Bixiao’s eyes filled with fury, she cursed aloud.
For someone as indifferent as Bixiao to be like this showed just how she felt at the moment.
Indeed, everyone nodded angrily.
Knowing full well that Gui Ling died at the hands of the West, yet he still went there to be some sort of Buddha Ancestor!
Abandoning the teachings of their master and the Jie School, and even protecting that traitorous Long Ear, utterly detestable, falsely assuming the role of Jie School’s Big Brother.
The Long Ear is dead?
Chen Nuo was somewhat startled.
Having listened to the whole story, he couldn’t believe that everything started because of his dinner bill.
Pretty badass.
