John Wicked: Endlessly Evolving My Pet Monsters-Chapter 38: Selection, Taking Advantage of The Situation
Chapter 38 - Selection, Taking Advantage of The Situation
Roughly five hundred students survived the full ten days.
The other thousands of students were eliminated on various days. They were already gathered on the large empty ground before the survivors were teleported beside them.
Five Emperor-rank Tamers flew towards them from the airship flying out of the skies above the forest.
"Woah, look at that dragon!"
"Shit, a dragon!"
"That mantis is cooler. I bet it can beat that dragon."
"Nah, that Thunderking Raicor Bat is more powerful."
"Dragon is strongest!"
The students were shocked and excited as they saw a big, shimmering, black-scaled dragon flying alongside the other three large, flying, bird-type monsters and one large, four-winged mantis.
There were other senior tamers from the other sects who had already arrived. But they were King-rank at most, and the envy in their eyes couldn't be concealed.
After all, they were weaker than them and had to practice weaker versions of Monster Geno Arts and had access to a low amount of techniques and resources compared to the five ruling sects, who controlled everything.
The Emperor-ranked tamers soon landed before the students.
The first bid on these young tamers belonged to them.
The students were silent and eager, waiting as the five tamers swept their eyes over them.
"Where is he?" Azelis frowned.
"Strange...why isn't he here yet?" Danny muttered.
The other three also wanted to choose him. After all, John was the only one who evolved not only his Monster but also others, got two super rare Monsters, broke through with the unorthodox method to awaken his talent, and in terms of overall ability, he and his Monster Pets were stronger than the rest of the students.
They honestly thought they wouldn't find any gems in this region since there weren't any big families who had connections with sects here, but a dark horse appeared, and all of them wanted him.
"They are finding John," Yuna muttered.
"How envious," Max bitterly chuckled.
"You there," Azeli looked at Yuna and Max, her voice reaching them as if carried by magic. "Where is the young man who was with you?"
"He didn't want to teleport here, so he removed the wristband. He'll be coming here soon on his flying Monster," Yuna answered.
Hearing this, Azelis nodded.
"Well, I am not going to choose anyone else, as I am only allowed to choose one person," Azelis said calmly to the other four tamers. "You all can start picking who you want."

"I'll choose her." Danny, the branch leader of the Blazeborn Sect in this region, waved his hand as an orb with the Spiritveil Sect's symbol manifested above Yuna.
"Same." Jaaron, a slender man with long black hair and the branch leader of Stormjade Pavilion, snapped his finger as another orb appeared above Yuna.
"Make your choice, lass." Lainey's melodious voice rang throughout the ground. She had a smile on her face as she looked at Yuna. 'Good job, girl.'
She had received orders not to choose this particular girl, who was the daughter of the Sun Soar Mercantile's head, for a reason she didn't like, so she was glad that Yuna was chosen by other sects.
The other students looked at her enviously.
"I would like to join Stormjade Pavilion," Yuna answered respectfully, her eyes betraying the excitement she was feeling. 'Yes! Stormjade Pavilion is best for me.'
Stormjade Pavilion was also the biggest merchant controlling group, so reaching a higher position in this sect would also benefit the Sun Soar Mercantile.
"You, the muscular kid. Do you want to join the Blazeborn Sect?" Danny said as he looked at Max beside Yuna. He had been observing Max in Scorched Earth Grove and then also saw him traveling with John and Yuna.
"Yes!" Max instantly shouted with a red face. "Let's fucking go!"
Danny laughed.
"Come on here. Stand behind me."
"Twins. Would you like to join the Spiritveil Sect?" Lainey asked with a smile.
The twin girls that John encountered had their eyes lit up, and they immediately said in unison, "Yes, ma'am!"
"Boy with the Razorex Winged Raptor. Do you want to join the Skyban Sect?" Tezar, the black-bearded man, spoke next as he looked at the boy with light-blond hair.
As the Emperor-rank Tamers began selecting the students, those not getting chosen among the 512 who survived felt their hearts drop each time they weren't selected.
After all, the five ruling sects' Emperor Tamers would only choose a few students each, not to mention that the mysterious Ouroboros Hall only selected one.
The Spiritveil Sect branch leader selected three students.
The Blazeborn Sect branch leader selected two students.
The Stormjade Pavilion branch leader selected three students.
The Skyban Sect branch leader selected two students.
The Ouroboros Hall representative selected none.
Nobody chose any more students as a strange silence descended with low murmurs among the disappointed students.
Suddenly, a sharp whistle rang across the sky as everyone looked in the direction of the sound and saw a majestic black eagle with sparkling dark blue patterns and half-dark blue, half-black feathers.
A lean, fit young man wearing an outfit made from leaves stood atop the eagle's back, feeling the wind.
"Tsk, look at him," Max clicked his tongue. "Showing off, but looks funny because of the clothes."
Danny chuckled upon hearing him and said, "You have to work hard to reach his level, boy."
"Hehe, I will."
John arrived and stopped in front of all the students, jumping down and facing the five ruling sects' representatives.
"You're finally here," Azelis said with a faint smile.
'What a beauty,' John thought, blinking once as his pupils enlarged to focus on her. She stood with effortless poise, black hair cascading over sharp shoulders. Her figure was all smooth curves and coiled grace—feminine, powerful, impossible to ignore.
"Would you like to join Ouroboros Hall?"
"And Blazeborn Sect," Danny cheekily grinned.
"Stormjade Pavilion will also welcome you."
"Naturally, Skyban Sect would love to have you as well."
Hearing the offers, the students on the grounds were dumbfounded.
John scratched the back of his head. "I wasn't expecting this... Now I don't know what to do."
He looked at them with an innocent expression and asked, "I'm afraid I'd need some help in choosing."
"Hahaha, I like this kid," Danny laughed and took out a pouch. "This pouch has three Silver-rank resources and 500 Silver Essence Coins. Choose the Blazeborn Sect, and they are yours."
"I'll offer you a Gold-rank resource and 1000 Silver Essence Coins as well as a Soul Technique scroll called Blazing Thunder Weapon Art, which can allow you to shape a hybrid-attributed weapon of your choice to be used in combat," Jaaron made an offer next, shocking everyone.
The students went crazy as they began talking among themselves while dropping invisible tears of envy.
Who were these guys?!
The Skyban Sect's representative also made an offer that wasn't any lower than Jaaron's.
Azelis was speechless as she glanced at others. 'You all are serious, eh?'
'It's a fair competition,' Danny replied with a snicker.
Meanwhile, John glanced at Lainey and Azelis.
But Lainey chuckled and said, "I am not going to compete."
'This little brat is cunning. He wants to earn some freebies and join the sect both.'
'Haha, indeed. He's got guts, that's for sure,' Tezar chuckled.
On the other hand, John turned to Azelis, who felt speechless, but then wryly smiled and made her offer. 'Tsk, it looks like I'll have to make a better offer still.'
"Alright, if you join the Ouroboros Hall...
