Jilted by Day, Cuddled At Night-Chapter 101: Baby is Strong, but I Am Not!
No matter what, Su Wan couldn’t stay mad.
After drinking a small bowl of red bean and millet porridge, she felt warm all over and much more comfortable.
Suddenly, she wanted to eat something sour and spicy.
Previously, Su Wan had pickled some refreshing side dishes, which were in the fridge, so she got up to get them.
Those dishes still needed some seasoning.
Bright red chili oil, fragrant and inviting, sprinkled with some cilantro, drizzled with some sesame oil, rice vinegar.
These seasonings were common on Ancient Earth, you’d see them when eating hot pot.
But now, they were quite rare.
Because even a single spring onion had to be specially cultivated in a petri dish, making it expensive.
After smelling them, Su Wan’s appetite was whetted. She took up her chopsticks to pick up a piece to taste the saltiness.
Out of the blue, someone approached from behind, almost pressing up against her.
Her hand trembled, and she nearly dropped her chopsticks.
The familiar, cool, and imposing breath reminded Su Wan of who was behind her.
"What’s delicious here?"
Gu Jue didn’t seem to realize he was standing a bit too close.
His proud nose twitched as if he was quite interested in the aroma.
For some reason, even though they were very close, the atmosphere was incredibly intimate.
Yet Su Wan was somehow reminded by his actions of the Alaska she used to have back on Ancient Earth.
That time, she bought a durian, then Mi Xiu twitched its nose and looked at her with a very speechless expression.
And then, it stormed out.
At that time, Su Wan laughed so hard that her stomach hurt.
Pulling her thoughts back, Su Wan seriously offered, "I made some cold dishes, do you want to taste?"
Gu Jue: "Yes."
Then he stared straight at the dishes Su Wan picked up with her chopsticks.
Su Wan had no choice but to feed him with her chopsticks, but as she did, she explained, "I don’t know if the flavor is right, what do you think?"
The first time being fed by Su Wan.
Gu Jue’s eyes deepened further, and after chewing the cold dish a few times, he swallowed, his Adam’s apple sliding up and down.
Su Wan was somewhat mesmerized.
It was all Commander’s fault for being too good-looking.
Others probably wouldn’t find eating pickles this sensual.
She asked expectantly, "Is it delicious?"
Gu Jue nodded: "Delicious."
Because you fed me, it tasted even better.
Assured it was delicious, Su Wan felt more at ease, and she leaned to the side, suggesting, "Let’s take it over and continue eating then."
"Okay."
Gu Jue stretched out his long arm and helped her carry the dishes over.
The two of them sat down at the dining table again to eat.
With the refreshing side dishes, Su Wan felt even more satisfied.
And the White Tiger, flapping its wings, flew nearby, its electronic eyes curving into a smile.
Ah, the master and the lady, they just seem more and more suitable for each other!
Having almost finished eating, Su Wan took a napkin to wipe the corner of her mouth and suddenly remembered about the renovation.
Su Wan: "Ajue, I’ve remodeled a children’s room next to your bedroom for our future baby to live in. Next to my bedroom, I put in an integrated kitchen, mainly because my family owns a restaurant, and I might need to research recipes from time to time. Maybe I’ll do some livestreaming occasionally, do you have any objections?"
Gu Jue was drinking porridge when he heard this; he put down his spoon and furrowed his brows slightly.
Su Wan pursed her lips.
Here it comes, Commander Gu must certainly have objections, right?
Is it that he disagrees with the home makeover, or that he disagrees with her livestreaming at home?
She didn’t want to give up her alter ego as Food God, so Su Wan was eager to explain.
If he objected to the renovation, then she would just change it back.
If she didn’t agree to do live broadcasts at home, that’s fine; she could just find another place outside to do it.
But what if Gu Jue didn’t agree to her doing live broadcasts...
And then she heard Commander Gu ask, "Aren’t we living in the same bedroom?"
Su Wan: "..."
Uh, that’s a good question.
How did she not think of that?
Because on the first day Su Wan came to the Commander’s residence, she was assigned a bedroom.
She subconsciously thought that was her territory.
And subconsciously assumed that the esteemed Commander, with his many demands, definitely wouldn’t want to share a bedroom and would need his own restful sanctuary.
Su Wan said with an honest face, "I thought you were usually busy, sometimes going to bed early or very late. You’d need your own bedroom. And I would only go there when you’re in your Manic-Depressive Period..."
"Didn’t you say you wanted me to treat you as an equal partner in marriage, not just during the Manic-Depressive Period?"
"Ah, yes."
Gu Jue’s gaze was profound, his tone insistent, "Ordinary couples should live in the same bedroom."
Su Wan asked, "I won’t affect your rest then, will I?"
Gu Jue: "You won’t."
Since Gu Jue said so, Su Wan was not going to be difficult. After all, they had a child on the way.
So this was settled.
It’s just living together, after all!
Su Wan: "Alright then. What about the nursery and the kitchen, any objections to how I manage them?"
Gu Jue: "You are the mistress of this house; however you decide to handle it, of course it’s up to you."
He only cared about one thing: that the two of them must live in the same room.
Living in two bedrooms is separation, a sign of impending divorce!
So that was absolutely unacceptable.
Su Wan felt the atmosphere was quite delicate, the two of them eating together by the table felt casual yet warm.
It was as if this had happened a long time ago.
She felt as if her soul had been a little unsteady lately.
Otherwise, why would she always feel this sense of déjà vu with the scene before her eyes?
Fortunately, dinner was finally over, and Su Wan decided to go back to her room and continue to rest, playing dead.
But as soon as she entered the bedroom, she found that Gu Jue had followed her in!
Su Wan said firmly, "Ajue, although I agreed to share a bedroom, you can’t go too far. Our baby is strong, but I’m not!"
I’m tired and need to rest!
Gu Jue looked at her puzzled, "Of course you can rest. What else do you think I would do?"
Su Wan: "..."
Alright, she was overthinking again.
Su Wan always felt a bit flustered when facing Gu Jue.
Chatting under the covers doesn’t seem so bad.
Just then, Gu Jue suddenly leaned over and placed his hand on her lower abdomen.
Su Wan immediately tensed up, her beautiful eyes wide open, and her long eyelashes trembling slightly.
But Gu Jue said seriously, "Beastmen emit a certain scent, and the baby’s scent will affect you. But don’t worry, it will also protect you in times of danger."
With his hand on her belly, and through the fabric, it felt warm. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
Like a warming pad.
Su Wan found it quite magical because from what she had researched, no other pregnant women had it as easy and pleasant as she did.
Being pregnant with a beastman’s child is very taxing for the mother.
Morning sickness was just the tip of the iceberg; some couldn’t even sleep well at night until after the baby was born.
But her little one was super considerate and always took care not to trouble her.
From the initial shock and wonder of being pregnant to now, Su Wan had actually begun to look forward to meeting the little one.
Then, she heard Gu Jue ask, "Wanwan, do you want to transfer to the military academy?"
