Petal ignored him and continued to walk, As if wasn’t even there.

"Your car seems late. We don’t offer you a ride. It will be faster. It’s a long way to the main road." Ethan offered as he put his hands inside his pockets and walked behind her.

Petal stared at the road in front of her and noticed that it’s Indeed still a long way before she reached there and she already started to feel tired.

Petal stopped and turned around to look at him with hesitation, The truth is, She was scared of him.

Petal stared at him as she thought about expecting his offer or not, But if she didn’t, She would be late.

"I’m only going to drive to your destination, Nothing more, But if you don’t want to, I will leave then." Ethan spoke when he saw how she looked at him with hesitation.

Left with no choice, Petal, Started to walk towards the car, Hoping that she didn’t make the biggest mistake of the day.

Ethan smiled a smile that went unseen by her, Opening the door to the driver’s seat he got into the car.

When Ethan entered, Petal fastened her seat belt before she opened her bag and took out her textbook and a pen and wrote down the school address on the paper, and showed it to him.

Ethan took a look at the paper memorizing the address before he looked up at her.

"I memorized it, It’s not that far." He said, offering her a smile as he started to drive the car.

Petal glared at him and turned her head to look outside the window.

What a twisted mind person, Petal mumbled in her mind.

A few minutes later, Petal took a glance at him. She noticed that he was holding the steering wheel with one hand as he used the other to support his head. He was driving carelessly. She only hoped that they wouldn’t get into a car accident out of his carelessness.

Ethan noticed her eyes on him watching the way he drove, He also noticed how she was scared that they might get involved in a car accident.

Turning to look at her, He saw her fixing her hearing device before she pushed her hair to the front to cover her ears. She was embarrassed by the hearing devices, He noted.

He wanted to tell her that there is nothing to be embarrassed about, But he has no right to say such a thing to her. After all, He was the person who caused her family’s death.

Ethan was positive that she will not hesitate to put a knife in his heart once she discovers her mother’s death.

Thinking about this, Ethan grab on the steering wheel tightened, Once again, He started to feel that painful feeling in his

heart again.

He wondered what the meaning of it was. Were the heavens punishing him for killing an innocent soul?.

Ethan felt that he deserves it and was much worse for hurting a week being like her.

Ethan was destroyed by his thoughts and didn’t notice what was happening next to him.

Petal suddenly started to have that painful ringing in her ears. She tried to endure it until she reached school but it was difficult to do that. She started to have a headache because of it.

Ethan slowed down the speed as he looked at her trying to understand what was happening and when he saw her touching her ears, He remembered that day in the garden when he saw her remove the hearing devices to get rid of the ringing.

He stopped the car on the side of the road and Unbuckled his seatbelt. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

Petal felt the car suddenly stop but she couldn’t focus as the painful ringing became unbearable.

"Petal, Listen to me, Press your palms on your ears and your fingertips on the back of your head." Ethan spoke as he watched her shut her eyes tightly and grab her head in pain.

Left with no choice, He grabbed her hands and removed them before he pressed his palms in her ears and his fingertips on the back of her head and started to tap on the back of her head with his index fingers.

Petal opened her eyes to look at him. She grabbed his forearm and tried to remove his hands but she stopped when she realized what he was doing. Her hands loosened but she didn’t let go and she closed her eyes again.

Gradually, The ringing started to disappear. Petal opened her eyes slowly and looked at him. His face was so close that she could feel his breath. He wasn’t looking at her and focusing on what he was doing.

She forgot about this technique, The doctor had told her about it.

Ethan looked down at her and met her eyes on him, she looked at him in fear again.

Removing his hands slowly, He asked her.

"Is it better? Did it stop?"

Petal nodded her head slowly.

"That’s good, You should do this whenever you have ringing in your ears, Don’t turn off the or remove the hearing devices, Use the head tapping technique and count to fifty it should help to stop it." He instructed her.

Petal kept staring at him. She was confused as to why he would help her when he almost killed her six months ago. Does he suffer from schizophrenia? She wondered.

Taking her textbook, She wrote something on it.

"Thank you for your help, now can you take me to the school." She wrote and showed it to him.

Ethan read what she wrote and nodded his head before he turned the car on again. The rest of the ride was quiet, Neither of them spoke nor stared at each other. Well, It was only her who didn’t look.

As for Ethan, He glanced at her from time to time.

Once they arrived, Petal opened the car door and got off and didn’t even look at him, Walking towards the school.

"Well, You deserve it, Ethan." He muttered under his breath before he drove the car toward his destination.

When Ethan arrived at the hospital, He walked towards his mother’s office.

"Good morning, Mr. Wilson, Doctor Lana is in the surgery room. Would you like to drink sometime while you wait?" Lana’s assistant offered Him.

"Coffee will do."Ethan replied, picking up the reports on his mother’s desk to review them.

Noticing that the assistant didn’t move from her place, Ethan looked up from the reports from his hands and stared at her.

"Is there something else?" He asked in a cold tone.

The assistant came out of her daze and walked out of the room running.

Outside the office.

"Did you see him? He looked even hotter than before." One of the employees said,

"I did, He looked like a god, It’s a pity that he is still single." The other employees replied.

"I know, Maybe he loves his wife so much that he can’t get past what happened." The first employee added.

"What are you doing here? Go back to your offices right now. or I will report you to doctor Lana." The assistant scolded the reception staff.

Fearing that they might get expelled from their jobs, The staff went back to their work without saying anything.

It was always like this. Whenever Ethan or Issac visited Their mother, The hospital turned into a frenzy, Especially the female doctor, Nurses, and employees.

Inside the office, Ethan had finished half of the report but stopped mid-way because he was destroyed by something or rather by someone.

His mind went back to the moment earlier in the car, Her eyes stared at him in fear as he was a predator who is about to finish off his prey.

It made him sad, He didn’t want her to look at him like this, At least not in fear.

Ethan sighed as he ran his fingers through his hair. Lately, his mind was too filled with nothing but her and he didn’t know why, But he must figure it out or else he is going to go crazy.

Ethan smiled remembering how she glared at him with her beautiful hazel eyes, She looked even cuter.

Suddenly he was shocked. Why is he finding her cute lately?.

Did he perhaps fall in love with?.

Surely this won’t be the kind of story where the victim will fall in love with a villain, Petal wasn’t a simple-minded girl. Even if she had feelings towards him she wouldn’t admit it just to let him suffer and he can’t blame her.

Ethan shook his head hopelessly, What is he even thinking about?.

"You are spacing out a lot these days?" Lana asked as she entered the office.

"Care to share?" His mother asked as she sat down.
