Chapter 74: Unforgivable

Petal unlocked her phone and noticed that it was a WhatsApp message from Alice, A video.

Clicking on the video, Petal started to watch it.

"Good evening, Petal, I have the boys here who want to say hi to you. It seems that you left quite an impression on them." Alice said as she moved the camera.

Petal smiled seeing Mason and a punch of a man that she didn’t know.

"Hey, Petal, I’m Mason, I hope you remember me. The boys want to say hi to you." Mason said and passed the camera to them.

"Hello, Beauty, You may not know us but we happened to see you when you came to the club. We just wanted to say that you are the first girl who was able to make all the hosts want to see each other again. I hope you drop by someday." One of the hosts said and passed the camera to the next one.

"You have a beautiful name Petal, I know for sure that this is the name that I will never forget my whole life. Hope you have a wet dream about me."

Hearing this, Petal face turned red, The comments and compliments went on, One after another until the video ended

Putting the phone down, Petal covered her face with her hands smiling to herself. Getting attention from males is something that she is not used to and she didn’t think that she ever will.

Putting her phone on the nightstand, She removed her hearing device and lied down on the bed. Tomorrow she has to wake up early for school.

...

The next morning, At school.

Staring at Petal, The teacher was amazed by the way she learned things fast. She picked up things at a very fast pattern and she had skipped the beginner’s level.

Petal now can play any musical note that is handed to her and she can copy it quite well.

It’s not every dayy that teachers get to see students like this. He was expecting a good future for her.

"It’s enough for today, Petal, You did a good job, Go home now, See you tomorrow." The teacher said as he gathered the homework peppers.

Petal nodded her head and stood up walking towards the end of class putting back the violin she was using back in its place.

Picking up her bag, Petal left the classroom. She didn’t feel like going back to the mansion yet so she decided to take a walk around the school to clear her mind.

Her mind seemed to be not settling since that night, Petal hated the fact that she was thinking about that man whenever she was not studying or doing anything.

That night she felt that there was something different about him. The way he looked at her was not the same. Even the way he spoke when he told her to go back inside, It seemed as if he was worried about her.

No, She was just imagining things. He can not be worried about her. Both of them are enemies.

Something pricked her heart whenever she thought about him. Petal shivered every time she remembered his low-pitched voice when he spoke to her that night. She remembered that he had warned her from Noah’s mother. He told that she was an evil woman, But why would he say that?.

Regardless, Petal decided to take his advice just in case anything would happen.

The car that she had ordered had arrived and she went back to the mansion. On her way back, Petal laid her head on the back of the seat feeling tired.

When Petal arrived at the mansion, She saw Ethan and Lana speaking in the living room. She tried to not look at them and walked towards the stairs but to her bad luck, Lana called her.

"Petal." Lana called her.

Petal took a deep breath and turned around walking towards the living room.

"Come here honey, I want to talk to you about something." Lana said, patting the space beside her on the couch.

Petal’s eyes met Ethen’s eyes for a brief moment before she walked towards Lana and sat beside her.

"I received a call from your school." Lana spoke, smiling at her.

Petal frowned hearing this.

"What did you say?" Petal asked.

Lana smiled and said.

"They seemed to be pleased with your performance." She replied. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞

Petal smiled nodding her head.

She looked at Ethan and her heart started to beat fast. The man looked nothing less than a handsome devil in a human form, His black hair was combed on the back of his head giving him a different look, A king aura.

Petal looked away and focused on Lana who was speaking to her.

"They told me that they asked you to join them in the next festival that will be held after six months but you refused, Why is that?" Lana asked, noticing the way Ethan looked at Petal.

Petal didn’t understand why the school called Lana about something like this.

"I’m still not ready, It’s not that easy." Petal replied signaling.

Lana nodded her head in understanding.

"I will not force you, But if you are going to make this a career, You need to go to this festival." Lana advised her.

"I will, Thank you." Petal said signaling before she stood up.

Ethan was sitting there looking quietly watching the girl who was sitting here as she replied, He didn’t understand anything from what she said.

But he noticed that she looked cute using this language. Ethan thought about learning this language. It won’t be hard on him, He just needs to buy the right books.

His eyes followed her as she walked up the stairs until she disappeared. He was both shocked and surprised by this change of heart that he was experiencing lately since he found out the truth.

Lana received a call and stood up to take it.

Thinking about something, Ethan stood up and walked towards the stairs.

His long legs were quick enough to catch up with her, Petal had just arrived on the third floor and was about to walk towards her room when she saw him coming up the stairs but she looked away and continued walking.

Ethan knew what she was doing, She was ignoring him.

Petal stopped walking and looked behind her and saw him walking behind her, She frowned as she looked at him.

Why was he here? His room was on the second floor, So what is he doing here?.

Petal felt nervous when he approached her. Is he going to kill her? She wondered, feeling scared.

"I came to talk to you about something, I apologize for scaring you." He apologized and Petal looked at him with her mouth gaped at him.

Did he just apologize? Or did she hear wrong?

Ethan smiled at her, Looking at her now, He wondered

"Things had started going wrong between us. What I did to you is not unforgivable and I’m not asking you to forget, But I just wanted to apologize to you, Though Apologizing now is meaningless." Ethan pushed, staring at her facial expressions.

Petal stared at him stunned by what he just said and confused about why he would apologize to her. What changed.

"Nothing I can do that will change the past, But I just want you to know that you are always welcomed in this mansion... "

SLAP!

The sound of a tight slap echoed through the corridor, Petal had slapped Ethan.

The emotions that she tried to hide in the past months had come out and she felt a rush of emotions that she never felt before. She was angry, sad, and heartbroken and he was the reason for all of this.

Ethan didn’t react, He stayed standing there, His face void of emotions but his eyes had a different, a different emotion.

Somehow he was glad that she hit him. He knew that he was being sick, But it gave him a kind of comfort to know that she was angry at him.

Petal felt something warm on her cheeks and when she touched her face she felt wet. She was crying but why?.

Ethan noticed the trembling of her lips as she tried to not break into tears. It made him feel uncomfortable. He felt a tightness in his chest seeing her tears as her tears were choking him.

"I’m sorry." Ethan said before he left.

He couldn’t stay there and see her tears. He just couldn’t. He wanted to comfort her but he had no right to that. After all, He was the one who caused her grievance.

Petal walked to her room and closed the door behind her and rested her head on the door. She let everything in her hand fall to the ground, her bag along with her book.

She clinched the fabric that was covering her chest tightly. Her heart ached, Hurts. It was so painful that she felt like she couldn’t stand it anymore.

Why?

Why was her life like that?

Why wasn’t she born normal like everyone else?

These questions that she asked herself a hundred times, But she never found the answer to it.
