Isekai Journey Of The Magic Archer-Chapter 1165: Poems of old
[OP: ]
When one enters the great forest, a spectator can see two different kinds of situations happening with them. By understanding it from the perspective of the two parties that were present in this forbidden forest, we could observe this difference.
[{ "No! We have to save it, big brother! Big brother! Sister Zoe! We have to save them!" }]
When you are young and don't understand enough, you would want to save some small creatures from the fangs of a ferocious (Indigo) level beast.
In a natural setting where the creatures are simply doing something they usually do, in a setting where interference might cost you something more than what you could afford, it was much better to simply ignore a few things.
Getting too closely involved with the natural order would simply attract unnecessary attention from those who do not like your presence in this world.
Eon had seen a lot of injustice when he was in the forest. Even when he was living in the tower, he had seen a lot through the surveillance system that his master had established together with him.
[{ "Keep going, Zoe." }]
[{ "Yes, big brother." }]
Some things are better left untouched. They cannot tell her everything and explain all the little things to her, but they expect her to understand the situation they are in.
[{ "Noooo! We could just save them! It will kill them!" }]
It has been a few hours since they started moving through the forest.
Thanks to the unique vehicle they had created, they were moving through the forest quickly. The speed was pretty good, and despite that, they were able to see various special things like nature and natural elements like plants and creatures.
On their way, they had come across a number of big and small creatures. Some of them were pretty, some of them were desirable, while some of them were so strange that they seemed more like an eldritch horror rather than an energy beast.
Eon was familiar with this kind of creature, but the others weren't the same. They were seeing even the smaller creatures, and somehow, they knew they would not be able to beat them.
Some creatures were weak and yet possessed great powers, some were pretty useful despite their low ranks, and some of the creatures that they saw on their way there, were simply too dangerous for them to even get close to.
This was the wildlife of the great forest of Kamut. They were going to see many more creatures that would be dangerous looking, some that would be killing creatures that could have been saved with their help, beings that did not deserve to die the way they did.
[{ "Nooooooo! Sister Zoe! Big brother!" }]
Anna was caring about every other creature she saw alive and still breathing. She believed… she knew they could save those small creatures easily. There was no need for them to die, but neither Zoe nor Eon stopped to help those beings.
Anna did not like it, she was devastated to see them die just like that. They were moving quickly, but she was still not in a good mood right now.
However, they did not try to console her or give her any words of comfort. They had already warned her that things would be like this, so all she could do was scream at the others, and try to get out of the seat was currently locked in.
It was these small things that made it even more necessary to keep her inside the vehicle as they moved. If they did not have it, she would not have listened to them and moved away a long while ago.
[{ "Ugh! Uhun uhun!" }]
She was crying right now, but they continued moving as they dealt with the threats that blocked their way.
Until now, they had faced a relatively weaker (Blue) ranked beast group, six of them to be specific, and they needed to be dealt with in order to continue moving on their paths.
They would have stayed there otherwise, but this battle gave the others an idea of how a [King] ranked knight fights on the field.
It did not take their grandpa even a few seconds to deal with those ferocious creatures, and he did not find anything special.
They were surely strong, but they weren't the strongest that they had faced until now. They were stranger than most of their ranks, but they were still nothing in front of his Aura-covered firsts.
[{ "There is another enemy coming up ahead. Get ready everyone." }]
Eon's group was already well aware of the forest and the dangers of the forest. They were well prepared, had good artifacts appropriate for the environment of the forest, and were aware of their surroundings thanks to Eon and Elle.
They were strong individuals, but they had thoroughly prepared for their journey.
As they moved through the forest, they knew what to look for and what to avoid… the other party that was present in the forest, the great party of the first prince of Roxanna, wasn't the same as them.
"What do you think about this one, vice-captain?" Prince Charles asked in a sarcastic manner as she pointed at a certain red flower that most certainly did not seem like a safe thing.
"Shut up if you want dinner tonight, mister." The elf knew that sarcastic tone very well and she did not like it whenever he was being like this.
She knew how to bring him on his feet though, so those words were enough to shut him up.
"Let me observe it a little more."
The flower contained a strong Mana, strange sparkling glittering fragments of pollen were coming out of it as they dispersed into the surroundings.
Their appraisal skills did not work on this flower, their detection magic told them the dust coming from the flower was poisonous so they weren't going too close to it either.
The prince, with his red hair and red eyes, wearing a highly enchanted armor that might seem like a national treasure-grade artifact, was fine going close to the flower and retrieving it.
There were tens of corpses around them. Humanoid creatures that could move through the shadows had attacked them a moment ago but they were nothing to fear in front of the leader of this party who could restrict the use of any skills they had.
The energy beasts did not possess any unique skills, the only weakness of his ability, so as long as he was standing against a creature with weaker mental defenses than his, he could restrict any skills that they had.
And, he had honed this ability to such a degree that even the great (Purple) rank creatures now had difficulty against his unique power.
But none of that mattered in front of this elf vice leader of his.
"Alright, I got it!" She explained with an excited look, pointing at a certain picture in a thick magical tome named (Poems of Old) that had records of countless flowers and plants along with folklores that they appeared in.
It was perhaps one-of-a-kind book as far as they knew, something they found in an ancient rune.
It was helping them more than they expected, so all of their party members were immensely glad to have it right now.
"It's called (Red Stardust Lily). It's a poisonous flower that possesses a powerful neurotoxin. It can kill even the (Green) ranked creatures instantly.
The area around this lily is usually a hunting ground for creatures that crave the creatures that come here for the poison of this flower.
The book says that some creatures use the poison or this flower as a tool, using it with their weapons. They have become resistant to the poison over time, but there are also creatures that hunt these poisonous creatures and use the processed poison that they possess."
The moment they found this flower, they also found different kinds of creatures around it. They killed some of them, and then the rest who knew they couldn't stand against them ran away.

They wanted to chase after them as well and finish them off, but they did not do so. They wanted to study the nature of these creatures so they let them go in hopes that they would bring back a bigger group to this place.
"Does the book say how to harvest the flower?"
"Yes… but I don't like the method. It's too long and complicated!"
They needed to look through various books in order to find anything on this flower. They didn't have a memory like Eon so they could not keep information on various things on the surface of their memories.
Even the smartest of them did not know about everything, and they did not possess any means to find special information about the plants that have rarely ever been seen in the wild.
The great forbidden forest or Kamut was home to countless lives that had vanished from the outside world by this point.
They were here for things like these… there were so many things they could do with a powerful toxin like this flower. They could even use it to make medications.
"I'll leave the harvest to you then. We shall go back to the camp in three hours so if you can't finish it in that time, then we will have to come back here tomorrow."
"Fine, fine. Let me see what I can do."
Their group had been here for a few days now and in this time, even though they had not traveled far, they had established various camps.
Their main camp was a distance away from here where their main intellectual force was working on the things that they find and bring back, while the combat force was responsible for bringing back stuff to them and exploring the area.
They were keeping a record of everything they were doing here, they were even archiving their journey into the forest.
They were being as scientific as they could since they had little information on anything in this forest… They were different from Eon's group in that regard.
They did not have the knowledge, resources, or artifacts that they did. They also did not have powers like them so the information was also scarce.
If they had all that they did, they would have brought back far better results for the world. However, they were limited in their options.
"Good luck, Vice captain~."
"Shut up and get lost, Charles."
They did not know about the existence of Eon's group.
Which, in a way, was a good thing…
