Isekai Adventure in the Dimensional Cube-Chapter 1225 - 894: Cursed Techniques Are Innate
The morning sunlight streamed through the forest, shining upon the campus of the Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Jujutsu Technical School, which carried a shrine-like ambiance.
In one of the dormitory rooms of the school, Reiger had already awoken and was putting on his uniform, basked in the sunlight pouring in from the window.
The sunlight wasn’t blinding, so Reiger ignored it and stood before a full-length mirror, observing his current attire.
The upper half of his outfit was a white, wide-sleeved uniform top.
The lower half was a pair of black, Western-style uniform trousers.
The clothing was adorned with golden buttons that depicted black vortex patterns.
This was the emblem representing the Jujutsu Technical School, essentially the school badge.
Looking at this black-on-white attire, Reiger pondered aloud.
"Isn’t it supposed to be all black?"
He remembered that whether it was Itadori Yuji, Fushiguro Megumi, Kugisaki Nobara, or the graduated Gojo Satoru, their uniforms were uniformly black.
Yet here he was, wearing a white uniform.
"There was someone like me in the original story, right? Who wore the white uniform straight after enrolling?"
Reiger suddenly recalled this detail.
Unfortunately, this was a plot point Reiger didn’t pay much attention to, hence he couldn’t remember the rationale behind it.
"Oh well, it doesn’t really matter."
Unable to figure it out, Reiger simply gave up thinking about it, and took out an ID from his pocket.
This was a student ID that Gojo Satoru helped retrieve for him, featuring Reiger’s photo and basic information.
It’s worth mentioning that the top left corner of Reiger’s photo was marked with the character 「特」.
"This is interesting."
Reiger understood what this 「特」 character signified.
Anyway, it was a trivial matter, insignificant in Reiger’s view; he put it away after a glance.
Now equipped with this student ID, even if those who knew the situation found Reiger to have a mysterious background and suspicious identity, in the eyes of outsiders unaware of the circumstances, he was simply a first-year student of the Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Jujutsu Technical School, a Curse Mage newly entering the world of sorcery.
This would be his identity in this world, initially resolving his identity information issue.
Additionally, Reiger’s enrollment was free, with the Jujutsu Technical School covering all his living expenses and academic fees. If he were assigned a task, upon completion, he could even earn rewards.
Though not particularly useful, Reiger wasn’t keen on being someone who casually dispensed gold, so he left it as it was.
"Buzz buzz..."
At that moment, Reiger’s cell phone vibrated in his pocket.
This was the phone that Gojo Satoru bought for him along with the uniform and student ID, claiming it would facilitate contact.
Currently, the phone stored only four numbers: Gojo Satoru, Itadori Yuji, Fushiguro Megumi, and Kugisaki Nobara.
"It must be Gojo, right?"
Reiger stated confidently, then took out the phone and read the recently received text message.
"Meeting in the classroom—Your dear teacher, Gojo."
Reiger automatically filtered out the suffix, calmly put away the phone, and walked out of the dorm room.
......
The classrooms at the Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Jujutsu Technical School also had a somewhat retro vibe. The wooden classrooms evoked feelings of the 80s or 90s, leaving one to wonder whether the people here were nostalgic or simply stuck in their ways.
Reiger slowly walked down the silent, empty corridor and reached the first-year classroom after about three minutes, pushing the door open.
In the classroom, aside from Reiger himself, all the first-year students were present.
"Hey, you’re here?"
Itadori Yuji was leaning against a desk and upon seeing Reiger enter, immediately raised his hand in a cheerful greeting.
"Does this count as being late?" Kugisaki Nobara, folding her arms, first remarked critically, then asked puzzled, "Is this your uniform? Why is it white?"
This question prompted a silent response from Fushiguro Megumi.
"White uniform..."
Fushiguro Megumi mumbled.
"Just like Senior Okkotsu..."
Only Fushiguro Megumi probably knew what this signified.
The white uniform at Jujutsu Technical School had two interpretations.
One interpretation was that only students evaluated as special grade Curse Mages upon enrollment wore this uniform.
Another interpretation was that only problem children wore this uniform, as it was more conspicuous, easily warning others.
Fushiguro Megumi wanted to support the former, but in truth, the latter was the reason for the appearance of the white uniform.
Or perhaps... does it involve both?
Fushiguro Megumi fell into thought, not expressing what was in his mind.
"Good morning!"
Almost simultaneously with Reiger entering the classroom, the door was pushed open again with force.
It was none other than our dear teacher, Gojo.
"Good morning, students." Gojo Satoru walked in, as his mouth ran wild, "Is everyone here yet? No one has placed an eraser or a bucket above the door to prank the teacher, right?"
"Do you think we’re kids?" remarked Kugisaki Nobara irritably, "Besides, even if there was an eraser and a bucket, you wouldn’t be hit, would you?"
"That might not be the case." Gojo Satoru stood at the podium, casually saying, "In one famous work, there’s a teacher like me who likes to wear a blindfold, covering his eyes, and he got hit by an eraser thrown by the protagonist, didn’t he? And he was a renowned ninja!"
"What?" Itadori Yuji widened his eyes in surprise, saying, "Teacher, do you actually read manga?"
"Yes, yes, I watch it." Gojo Satoru said with some pride, "Don’t you think my look resembles the character from that famous work?"
"Then can you perform a Lightning Blade, teacher?" Itadori Yuji said with glowing eyes, "You’re so strong, and use cursed techniques, a Lightning Blade should be doable, right?"
"Unfortunately, I can’t!" Gojo Satoru said without a hint of shame, "I can do other things though, like Heavenly Expedition and such."
"Oh, oh!" Itadori Yuji was extremely moved.
Their conversation made Reiger almost wonder if he’d entered the wrong world.
Is this really the kind of conversation that can happen in reality?
If it wasn’t for the fact that cursed techniques truly exist in this world, this would just be fanboys geeking out about their love for anime, wouldn’t it?
Not just Reiger, even Fushiguro Megumi and Kugisaki Nobara were a bit speechless.
"Can you not talk about anime in the classroom?" Kugisaki Nobara rudely clicked her tongue, "Why can guys comfortably chat about manga in the classroom? I don’t want to hear it!"
"No missions today?" Fushiguro Megumi also changed the subject, saying, "Is Gojo-sensei planning to teach Itadori and Brilliant how to use cursed energy starting today?"
"Well, sort of." Gojo Satoru didn’t deny it, laughing, "There are no missions today, especially for Megumi and Nobara. You can choose to stay in school or take a walk in the city."
This is the everyday life at Jujutsu High School.
If there’s a mission, students assigned a task need to head out to execute it.
If there’s no mission, it depends on the homeroom teacher’s plan.
If the teacher has training, courses the students need to complete, then the students comply.
If not, it’s free activity time, unlike regular schools where you need to spend half a day in class, reading books.
An additional note is that this year’s first-year students seem to only be Reiger, Itadori Yuji, Fushiguro Megumi, and Kugisaki Nobara.
Isn’t that few?
Of course, it is.
An entire grade with only four students is almost laughable.
But this is the norm at Jujutsu High School; people qualified to become Curse Mages are rare, having three to four students enroll is already good, and sometimes, not even a single freshman enrolls, leaving an entire grade empty.
It’s not just the first year, the second, third, and fourth years also have roughly 3-4 students, sometimes even 1-2.
In such circumstances, and with a homeroom teacher who’s so easygoing, Fushiguro Megumi and Kugisaki Nobara get free-time to do whatever they want today.
"Alright!" Kugisaki Nobara clenched her fist in excitement, cheering, "I’m going to Shibuya! Going shopping!"
Fushiguro Megumi remained silent, evidently not planning to go out, possibly heading back to the dorm, or finding a quiet place to spend time.
As for Reiger and Itadori Yuji...
"Reiger, Yuji, come with me."
Gojo Satoru grinned, smiling at the two.
"Your course officially begins today."
To this, Reiger and Itadori Yuji’s reactions were entirely different.
Reiger faintly smiled, with a hint of eagerness in his eyes.
Itadori Yuji clenched his hand into a fist and punched his palm, looking impatient.
......
Tokyo Metropolitan Jujutsu Technical High School, in the woods on the outskirts.
Under the guidance of Gojo Satoru, Reiger and Itadori Yuji arrived here, on an empty plot.
"I suppose I don’t need to explain to you what cursed energy is anymore?"
Standing in front of Reiger and Itadori Yuji, Gojo Satoru crossed his arms, the eyes hidden by the blindfold clearly focused on them.
"Cursed energy is the crystallization of negative emotions, this you already know, so I won’t elaborate further."
"Now, I’m going to explain the principles of cursed techniques to you."
"So, what are cursed techniques?"
Reiger could answer this question, but Itadori Yuji obviously couldn’t.
Gojo Satoru also didn’t intend to ask, continuing on with his explanation.
"Cursed techniques, simply put, are techniques activated through the consumption of cursed energy, they are the principal combat methods for Curse Mages."
"In this world there are various cursed techniques, each with different effects and purposes."
"Learning cursed techniques can be trivially easy or tremendously hard."
Suddenly, Gojo Satoru turned to Itadori Yuji, unexpectedly asking him.
"Do you know why, Yuji?"
Upon hearing, Itadori Yuji blinked.
"Uh... because no one teaches them?"
Itadori Yuji hesitantly offered an answer.
"Wrong."
Gojo Satoru shook his head, giving a harsh answer.
"Because cursed techniques are innate, essentially impossible to learn afterwards."
