Ye Fan arrived in the illusion where Li Zhaojun was trapped, his task was to locate Li Zhaojun and rescue her.

This illusion, though seemingly unreal, was composed of actual substances surrounding many aspects, where sounds and colors were indeed existent. Xi He even used this illusion to imprison countless mortals for a lifetime, letting them live, age, get sick, and die within her illusion.

"Within this place, everything is under my control, even if your spiritual power is strong enough to see through the illusion. But do you know that Li Zhaojun is just an ordinary human girl? Keeping her here is an effortless task!" Xi He still didn’t believe Ye Fan could find Li Zhaojun in her illusion or rescue her.

Ye Fan replied, "Is it difficult? The people here, although very similar to those on Earth, you can only imitate them superficially, not grasping the essence!"

Ye Fan spoke as he began to trace Li Zhaojun’s presence within the illusion.

Xi He had set various protective measures for this illusion, but when someone attempted to break it, a large number of "cultivators" instantly appeared before Ye Fan’s eyes, aiming to kill the intruder directly.

"Where’s this kid from? You’re courting death!" Several female cultivators appeared before Ye Fan, their cultivation levels roughly around the Transcendance Tribulation Stage. Ye Fan knew these people were mere illusions created by Xi He, they didn’t actually exist but were fabricated by Xi He and infused with her cultivation power.

Xi He’s cultivation had far exceeded that of Immortals after ascension, so creating female cultivators of Transcendance Tribulation Stage was an easy task for her.

However, similarly, defeating these female cultivators of Transcendance Tribulation Stage was also easy for Ye Fan.

"Those who block shall perish!" Ye Fan had no need for words with these female cultivators, understanding they had no thoughts of their own. Their sole purpose was to act as Xi He’s puppets, guarding this illusion imprisoning Li Zhaojun.

When Ye Fan’s elemental powers burst out, the female cultivators didn’t even have time to utter a single word before their spirits were completely obliterated. Ye Fan did not fly but continued walking through the streets of Hua Hai within the illusion, though the surrounding world seemed real, Ye Fan could feel that everything was false.

"Xi He, to completely control me, you forcibly separated Zhao Jun and me, imprisoning her here. Do you think I’d ever help you?" Ye Fan shouted sternly.

"Say what you will, Ye Fan. You could destroy the whole illusion, but you won’t get Li Zhaojun out of here!" Xi He was still utilizing her spiritual power for final control over the illusion.

Even though Xi He’s control was strong, it could no longer be an obstacle for Ye Fan.

Ye Fan had already detected Li Zhaojun’s Pure Yin Spiritual Energy, intricately tied to his own cultivation. He could penetrate through layers of fog to accurately find Li Zhaojun’s location. He wouldn’t permit any mishaps to befall Li Zhaojun.

When Ye Fan appeared once more before Li Zhaojun, she was suffering intense mental torment.

Li Zhaojun had recalled many events with Ye Fan, she also was certain that what she saw was an illusion, but her spiritual power was not as strong as Xi He’s, so she was close to being mentally consumed by Xi He’s torture.

"Zhao Jun?" Ye Fan found Li Zhaojun at the villa where he and Li Zhaojun lived within Hua Hai, once their shared home.

Li Zhaojun’s eyes were bloodshot, looking at Ye Fan, she shouted, "Who are you? Don’t come over! Do you think I don’t know you’re actually a mist?"

Li Zhaojun’s reaction was intense, making Ye Fan realize Xi He must have used countless illusions attempting to break Li Zhaojun’s final mental defenses. This had awakened Li Zhaojun’s most stubborn mental resistance; though she hadn’t gone insane, she was starting to distrust everyone around her.

"Ye Fan, have you seen through yet? I’ve told you, there’s no chance you’ll take Li Zhaojun away. If she leaves here, she’ll go utterly mad. Ye Fan, you wouldn’t want to take just her shell, right?" Xi He said complacently.

Ye Fan continued to look at Li Zhaojun, who clearly mistrusted all around her, making her seem like a frantic woman, even with immense destructive power capable of destroying anything around her.

Ye Fan gazed deeply at Li Zhaojun, speaking, "Zhao Jun, it’s me, don’t you remember? I’m here to bring you home for our wedding!"

"Liar, you’re all liars, I don’t believe any of you! I don’t know who created this false world, but I know everyone inside it is an illusion! Don’t think you can fool me!"

Li Zhaojun screamed, beginning her attack on Ye Fan.

Though trapped within the illusion, Li Zhaojun’s cultivation had largely recovered, she attacked Ye Fan with a cultivation approximating the Transcendance Tribulation Stage. This cultivation seemed weak to Ye Fan, but he wouldn’t harm Li Zhaojun, not even knowing she’d made many mistakes.

"Die!" Li Zhaojun charged forward without any intent of retreat. When her Pure Yin Spiritual Energy entered Ye Fan’s body, due to the affinity between Pure Yin and Pure Yang Spiritual Energies, her energy didn’t harm Ye Fan; instead, it was absorbed by Ye Fan’s Pure Yang Spiritual Energy within him. "What? How is this possible?"

Upon discovering her cultivation being continuously absorbed, Li Zhaojun began to panic, fiercely resisting to retract her Pure Yin Spiritual Energy.

She initially thought it couldn’t be taken back, yet it oddly went smoothly now. As long as she attacked Ye Fan, the energies would merge within Ye Fan’s body; while retracting, Ye Fan wouldn’t exert any pressure on her.

"Zhao Jun, do you still not believe it’s me?" Ye Fan asked, "You’re a Taiyin constitution, I’m a Pure Yang constitution, our cultivations were inherently complementary!"

Li Zhaojun still spoke in a disbelieving tone, "I won’t believe you. In this illusion, everything is a sham! Even if you can fake Ye Fan’s appearance, Ye Fan’s cultivation, you can never fake Ye Fan’s divine essence!"

Though Li Zhaojun remained frenzied, Ye Fan vaguely felt the madness in her had diminished.

At least now Li Zhaojun possessed some rational thinking.

This was a positive sign for Ye Fan rescuing Li Zhaojun, for only with Li Zhaojun regaining some Divine Sense could he make her believe he was truly Ye Fan.

"Zhao Jun, you may not believe me, but I will still take you away, once you’re out of this illusion, you’ll eventually accept it!" Ye Fan was no longer concerned with awakening Li Zhaojun, his plan was simple: render her body uncontrollable and take her out of the illusion.
