Invincible Starts From Dao Fruit-Chapter 580 - 452 True Immortal Gathering, Dayan Victory Conference!
The Divine Skills of the true immortals are boundless, each having lived through endless years, possessing countless treasures. Even the slightest trace flowing from between their fingers could drive Upper Immortals mad with desire.
Even the Daoist True Inheritors are quite envious.
This is one benefit among many.
And if one can rank highly in the battle, the benefits are even greater.
To become a disciple of a True Immortal.
Positions in the Immortal Court.
Enlightenment Treasures.
Spirit Pills.
A plethora of rewards await; it just depends on whether you possess the ability to take them.
If you can seize the top spot, you gain access to the Daoist supreme treasure, the ’Dayan Chessboard,’ observing the creation and destruction of the universe, the life and death of the cosmos. This is immensely beneficial for understanding the Heaven and Earth Dao and proving True Immortal.
It is hailed as the premier place for Enlightenment under the heavens.
The ’Dayan’ in ’Dayan Victory Conference’ comes from this ’Dayan Chessboard.’
This supreme treasure undergoes a cycle every 490,000 years, opening once each cycle, and only four individuals may enter each time, representing ’Heaven,’ ’Earth,’ ’Mysterious,’ and ’Huang,’ to observe the vast cosmos.
Through sixteen past Dayan Victory Conferences, the Dayan Chessboard has been opened sixteen times, with a total of 64 individuals entering. Among them, 25 have proven True Immortal. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
Equivalent to around one to two individuals per session.
True Immortals are eternal and indestructible, immortal and undying. The ’Dayan Chessboard’ offers over a quarter chance to become a True Immortal, marking its significance beyond words. No Daoist sect can occupy it alone; it is placed in the Immortal Court under the joint administration of the Four Great Daoist Sects and opened, through the ’Dayan Victory Conference,’ to the Shenzhou Upper Immortals, thus avoiding calamity.
Opening the supreme treasure.
This move is magnanimous.
Among the 25 True Immortals born from the ’Dayan Chessboard’ over millions of years, only ten come from the Four Great Daoist Sects. Eight are from other Daoist sects, and the other seven come from Loose Cultivators of the Four Great Continents.
The Four Great Daoist Sects can establish the Immortal Court and unify the Immortal Dao, inseparable from this supreme treasure. Opening the ’Dayan Chessboard’ wins hearts and thus gains the world.
"Dayan Chessboard."
"Great Mahayana True Immortal."
From the moment Chen Jichuan learned of the benefits, he already considered the first place in the Inner Realm his own.
This opportunity, he is determined to obtain.
...
The Dayan Victory Conference commenced as scheduled.
On this day.
Auspicious clouds swayed gently; five-colored clouds flew incessantly. White cranes echoed through the marshes, and the purple lingzhi showed elegant leaves.
In the midst appeared an immortal, naturally graceful and extraordinary. His divine dance swayed the rainbow, suspending the unchanging treasure script at his waist.
The conference convened, true immortals came and went.
The Daoist True Inheritors and True Immortal Inheritors, whom you might seldom see once, rode on clouds and cranes on this day, coming and going endlessly.
Then look over to the Yaochi Treasure Pavilion.
There you would see: divine fragrance swirling, auspicious clouds gorgeous, the Jade platform paved with colors, the Treasure Pavilion emitting aura. Phoenix ascending and phoenix soaring, golden flowers and jade calyxes flickered. In the upper row, Nine Phoenix Danxia, and Eight Treasure Purple Cloud Stools. Five-colored, gold-edged tables, and thousand-flower jade basins. On the tables are dragon liver and phoenix marrow, bear paw and ape lip. Rare delicacies of diverse flavors, exotic fruits and dishes ever new.
In the promenade aside the Treasure Pavilion, a few immortal officials brewed wine, powerful warriors fermented mash, leading a few Daoists carrying water and children stoking the fires, washing vats and scrubbing jars, having created jade liquid and fine vintage wines.
Indeed, such a grand meeting.
Attending the feast were the Immortal Court Emperor, great gods of various divisions, Daoist True Immortals, Buddhist Saint Monks, Five Continents Immortals, each speaking and laughing, discussing and debating the Dao, truly lively.
Chen Jichuan and other Upper Immortals, despite being rulers in Shenzhou, did not even qualify for a seat in this conference within the Immortal Court. They could only wait silently outside the Yaochi Treasure Pavilion for the grand meeting to commence and the battle to start.
...
The Dayan Victory Conference has been held many times; the rules for the Upper Immortals’ battles are well established.
In the early sessions, the True Immortals aimed to be comprehensive, testing both the Upper Immortals’ talents and aptitude, as well as their temperament and character, along with their magical skills and techniques.
But it proved too cumbersome.
Furthermore, talents and temperament were inherently hard to measure, difficult to distinguish. Every time it came to the end, the True Immortals would invariably have disputes.
So, they simply simplified it, leaving only a magical battle.
Showing true skills under the hands, distinguishing victory or defeat on the arena; hence, one is one, two is two, no ambiguity anymore, thus bringing harmony among the true immortals.
"Each Dayan Victory Conference has around 400,000 Upper Immortals participating in the battle."
"Among them, the most are Inner Realm Upper Immortals, dominating with 200,000."
"Through rounds of magical battles, the top 100 are ultimately determined, all receiving rewards. The top one in the First Realm can enter the ’Dayan Chessboard’ for Enlightenment."
Chen Jichuan recalled past conference victories, reviewing the rules of this session.
This session features 460,000 Fourth Realm Upper Immortals, of which 244,625 are Inner Realm Upper Immortals. Through the ’Dayan Chessboard,’ tens of thousands of Secret Realms emerge, from which arenas rise, segmenting them, rules set to avoid casualties and determine victory.
Then the Upper Immortals are divided into groups, initially, 20 per group, with round-robin magical battles, where the top two with the most wins advance to the next round.
This round eliminates 90% of the Upper Immortals.
By the second round, it’s also 20 per group, with the top four advancing, eliminating another 40%.
Thus, it repeats.
Continuing until the top hundred for each Fourth Realm are determined; then, they engage in a point-based battle, where the one with the most points becomes the first of the realm group, and the rest rank by points.
True Immortals have endless longevity.
Upper Immortals have lifespans of tens of thousands of years, too.
They have plenty of time; a conference lasting dozens of years is normal. Upper Immortals compete slowly, while true immortals and great powers converse about the Dao, occasionally looking at the Upper Immortals’ magical battles, rewarding those they find pleasing.
The conference is just so.
The rules are straightforward and rough.
During this process, those Upper Immortals can cultivate and reside in the Immortal Court’s cave residences.
This place is rich in spiritual energy, an excellent cultivation site, no less than average Secret Realms, with great powers discussing the Dao and true immortals teaching methods, adding another layer of opportunity.
To participate, even if unable to make any ranking or attract the True Immortal’s Eye, these Upper Immortals can still gain much.
"Good!"
"These rules are good!"
The straightforward and rough rules delighted Chen Jichuan.
Using a point-based battle for ranking is more stable than mere victories and defeats. He has confidence in his strength, but there’s always the chance someone could counter him.
For example, Divine Skills.
For example, Magical Treasures.
If unable to use Divine Skills, he might lose in a single match, missing the ’Dayan Chessboard.’
But with point battles, there’s much more flexibility.
With his deep Daoist foundation and magical prowess, capturing the top spot shouldn’t be an issue.
Time passed.
Daoist True Immortals, Buddhist Saint Monks, and Five Continents Immortals arrived one after another, and the Upper Immortal battles finally began.
The first round groups twenty people to battle in turn, and then two qualify for the next round. If you have solid strength, advancing in this round isn’t hard.
Especially for the Inner Realm.
Among 200,000 Inner Realm Upper Immortals, choosing 20 randomly would naturally include strengths and weaknesses. If you can’t even rank in the top two in your group, it’s either bad luck or inadequate strength; losing is not unjust.
In his cave, Chen Jichuan felt the Dao hum, and the next moment manifested in a mountain.
This is the Secret Realm derived from the ’Dayan Chessboard,’ with its environment and terrain generated randomly.
In the Secret Realm, each arena is actually an independent small realm.
The stage is wide.
Enough for Upper Immortals to freely demonstrate their skills.
"First round."
"First battle."
Chen Jichuan wandered the mountains, looking for his opponent.
In the point-based battle, the winner scores one point, the loser loses one, and ties score zero. Some may find strong enemies and hide, thus evading the foe and rendering them powerless, irritating them immensely.
But most will not do this.
Even if fleeing initially, it’s only to mislead the opponent for a sneak attack.
The first opponent of Chen Jichuan clearly didn’t intend to hide. Before he could search much, he saw an Upper Immortal standing proudly on a mountain peak, loudly saying, "Wan Xing from the South Continent, please instruct me, Daoist."
"Upper Immortal of the South Continent."
Chen Jichuan smiled at the words and leaped forward, loudly proclaiming, "Zhou Yan of the One Origin Dao Sect, please instruct me."
