Invincible Snake Emperor-Chapter 179 - 176: Devouring the Vampire Snake
The Vampire Snake lay deep within a massive crater, its thirty-meter-long body momentarily out of sight.
But a terrifying aura continued to emanate from the depths of the crater.
"ROAR—"
A violent, agonized roar echoed from the crater. Then, a massive Snake Head shot straight up from the depths, like a Dragon emerging from the sea, radiating immense power.
"I am the strongest Snake Species in the world!"
The Vampire Snake roared at the sky. Killing Intent instantly erupted from it, blasting out like a hurricane. The Snake Valley was filled with a bloodthirsty, violent, and murderous aura.
"Oh really? Are you sure about that?"
Tu Xiao'an, in his form as a forty-meter-long, heaven-shaking Giant Snake, sneered in contempt. 'If you won't submit, I'll beat you until you do.' His massive tail swept through the air like a great tentacle descending from the heavens, locking onto the Vampire Snake's neck from an inconceivable angle.
The Vampire Snake looked as though it were being throttled by a giant hand, lifted forcibly into the air.
It was impossible to estimate the weight of the thirty-meter-long, towering Vampire Snake, but it had to be thousands upon thousands of pounds.
A single one of its fiery red scales weighed over a pound.
They were like plates of iron.
Tu Xiao'an held the Vampire Snake suspended in the air with his tail. His Snake Gaze was cold and placid, like two pools of perfectly still water—impassive, detached, and utterly clear. Though he seemed to speak softly, his voice was deafening. "Vampire Snake, I will show you who the strongest Snake Species in the world is. The Snake King can only be me, not you."
"BOOM—"
The earth quaked and the mountains shook as the Snake Valley suffered continuous devastation. The moment Tu Xiao'an finished speaking, he slammed the thirty-meter-long Vampire Snake into the ground, cracking it like a whip.
A thirty-meter-long, snake-shaped impression appeared on the ground, from which cracks spread outward—a hundred meters, then a thousand.
BOOM...
The ground shook violently once more. Tu Xiao'an whipped the Vampire Snake back and forth against the earth, shattering the ground and splattering it with blood.
After a dozen lashes, the Vampire Snake's terrifying aura diminished sharply. Its body, once covered in fiery red scales, was now a mass of wounds and injuries.
Then, Tu Xiao'an once again hoisted the Vampire Snake into the air. Its long body was a brutalized, unsightly mess. Dark red blood cascaded like a waterfall, streaming down its length.
Tu Xiao'an knew his victory was at hand. He stared at the Vampire Snake with cold, placid eyes, which narrowed slightly. The tail coiled around the Vampire Snake's neck began to constrict with immense force, as if preparing to strangle it to death.
The Vampire Snake's neck was completely twisted out of shape by the giant tail. The compression of flesh and blood made a SQUELCHING sound.
"AARGH—"
The Vampire Snake let out an unending, agonized roar. The sound was like the bellowing of a Demon, terrifying enough to make one's hair stand on end.
Though frightening, the roar was now filled with pain, lacking all of its former majesty and power. The deep sound carried a sense of a hero in his twilight, filled with bitter unwillingness.
Its once-fierce, bloodthirsty serpentine eyes were now dim, but a final, defiant glint of vicious light still flickered within them.
"Vampire Snake, now is your time to die!"
Tu Xiao'an roared as well, his voice filled with an indescribable excitement.
This Mutated Bloodsucker Snake, its fate so entangled with his own, had filled Tu Xiao'an with a complex hatred.
It had turned him from a carefree young man into a venomous snake slithering through the darkness.
Now, he was finally about to slay his nemesis. The pleasure was indescribable.
CRACK—
The Vampire Snake's neck twisted and snapped. Its exceptionally powerful Life Force rapidly drained away, as if its very lifespan was being stripped from it inch by inch. Its vicious serpentine eyes gradually dimmed, losing their conqueror's radiance.
BOOM...
The thirty-meter-long body crashed to the ground, sending sand and stone flying. The Vampire Snake lay limp and motionless, its massive head resting on the earth, beyond all hope of recovery.
'Its intelligence was demonic, its power immense. How could it have been defeated so suddenly? So utterly crushed.'
'And the defeat had been so swift, leaving no chance to retaliate.'
The Vampire Snake used the last of its strength to glare at the colossal Giant Snake before it, its eyes filled with Killing Intent, hatred, and a sliver of fear. 'I could have become the true Snake King, leader of the entire Snake Race, a Rank Three Creature.'
'But I was defeated by this snake.'
'The consequence of defeat was obvious: I would become its food.'
"Vampire Snake, I bet you never thought you'd end up as another snake's meal, did you? I will take your flesh and blood. I will control your Flame Power. You have paved the way for my success."
The colossal Giant Snake moved toward the barely breathing Vampire Snake on the ground and began to devour it.
The Vampire Snake was filled with unwilling resentment, but its Life Force was critically low. Its serpentine eyes constricted as it stared blankly, engulfed by a gigantic mouth. A fatal darkness was all that awaited it.
What followed was the sight of a forty-meter-long, colossal Giant Snake devouring an immobile thirty-meter-long Giant Snake.
It was an incredibly horrific and bloody scene.
The legendary Mutated Bloodsucker Snake was about to vanish from the world, its life of slaughter finally over.
From the moment of its birth, it had been a nightmare for all the Snake Catchers of Bai Town. It started by sucking human blood, then moved on to eating people whole. It grew from a vicious little snake into a massive, man-eating monster.
If not for Tu Xiao'an, this snake would have lorded over the world, becoming the most terrifying creature in existence.
But now, it was being devoured piece by piece, until it disappeared entirely into the belly of the colossal Giant Snake.
This was the way of the world: the strong are revered, and only the fittest survive.
The world of the Snake Race was even more bloody and cruel. When two snakes fought, the loser was destined to become the victor's meal.
It was only natural.
With a heart pounding in excitement, Tu Xiao'an finished swallowing the Vampire Snake whole. Then, his majestic, forty-meter-long body began to glow, erupting with a scorching, dazzling light.
Just then, a flood of memories that were not his own appeared in his mind.
The scenes flashed before his mind's eye, one after another, as if he were sitting in a movie theater watching the big screen.
But the movie had barely begun when the spectator got up to leave. Tu Xiao'an had no interest in watching the life story of the Vampire Snake.
The snake was incomparably vicious, its life filled with nothing but slaughter and bloodshed. It had no touching stories, no redeeming qualities—only cold-blooded cruelty.
By killing it, Tu Xiao'an had not only taken his revenge, but had also performed a great service.
Had this snake lived, countless more lives would have been lost. It was a monster, the very incarnation of disaster. The stronger it grew, the greater the catastrophe it would become.
If the Mutated Chicken Crowned Snake could, at a stretch, be called a good snake, then this one was an out-and-out Evil Snake that no one could ever hope to reform.
Fortunately, it had all come to an end at the hands of Tu Xiao'an.
The crisis on She Mountain was resolved. The people of Bai Town no longer had to live in fear of the man-eating monster. Their lives could begin anew.
The Snake Catchers could resume Ascending the Mountain to hunt for snakes without fearing for their lives.
