Chapter 513: Chapter 513: Infatuation

The sight before her was a familiar chest clothed in a shirt, the fragrance by her nose equally familiar. Ava’s eyelashes fluttered, and she instinctively looked around.

Due to the drawn curtains, the bedroom was dim, still resembling the nighttime.

Ava frowned, puzzled, and said, "Did I sleep for a whole day?"

At this moment, Ava’s awareness returned significantly. She remembered clearly the craziness of her and Poe Vaughn last night—it was simply deadly.

So, she likely slept through an entire day and straight into the night.

At the moment Ava stirred, Poe Vaughn’s eyes opened. He looked at the fuzzy, kitten-like appearance of the person waking up in his arms.

He said, "No."

Upon hearing this familiar deep and magnetic voice, Ava instinctively looked up, only to see an incredibly handsome face.

Gazing at this face, especially those eyes, the already not-quite-awake Ava became even more bewildered.

She didn’t speak, just stared at Poe Vaughn as if admiring an exceptionally beautiful painting, gazing dazedly, foolishly so.

However, Poe Vaughn did not say anything, letting her gaze.

He watched her confused look without disturbing her at all.

The atmosphere in the bedroom returned to silence, with tranquility spreading within.

But the peace didn’t last long; there was a ’knock knock’ as the door to the suite outside was knocked on.

Ava froze, her eyelashes fluttering, finally coming to her senses.

Poe Vaughn said, "Lunch has arrived." 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺

After speaking, he released her, got out of bed to open the door.

With his solid chest gone, Ava suddenly felt a sense of emptiness, quite uncomfortable.

Yet, she said nothing, nor did she stop Poe Vaughn from getting out of bed.

Because, with Poe Vaughn’s words, Ava’s stomach gurgled, an intense hunger emanating from her stomach.

She was hungry.

Instantly, Ava frowned, then turned over, clutching her gurgling stomach, watching that upright figure walk out of the bedroom.

Poe Vaughn mentioned lunch, so is it noon now?

Did she just sleep a morning?

In a flash, Ava sighed, looking at the crystal light on the ceiling, only feeling she didn’t want to move at all.

If she could, she wished she didn’t have to do anything, with clothes dressing her, and meals directly fed to her mouth.

But clearly, that was just her beautiful fantasy.

Hearing the outside door open, the sound of a dining cart wheeled in, many delicious delights floated before Ava, at that moment, she had to get up even if she didn’t want to.

Propping herself up to sit, an overwhelming soreness spread from her body.

Especially in her waist and legs, they were so sore she wished she could just lie back down, and die directly.

However, she had a fit constitution, even though sore, even if she wanted to fall, she still sat up, uncovered the quilt, got out of bed, dragging her exhausted body to the bathroom.

She needed to wash, to awaken herself, to refresh her spirit.

Under the shower, Ava turned on the switch, and instantly, hot water came rushing down.

Ava closed her eyes, letting the hot water wash over her, allowing her strength to recover.

But, as she closed her eyes, images from last night floated in her mind, scenes of her madness with Poe Vaughn.

In an instant, Ava’s heart raced.

Her closed eyes opened.

She immediately raised her head, looked around the bathroom, then at the vanity, the bathtub, eyeing the walls, her heart thumping fiercely, as if it would leap out in the next moment.

This was the place of their indulgence last night, every corner, every position, it was simply unimaginable.

Ava closed her eyes, quickly slapped her face, to wake herself up, not to think about these things.

She grabbed the shower gel to wash her body, to avoid immersing in last night’s memories.

Some things can be truly addictive.

She had to control herself.

Ava washed her body, brushed her teeth and face, feeling refreshed, with spirits high, finally no longer lost in thought.

Yet, she felt that Poe Vaughn must have cast a spell on her, definitely.

Otherwise, why would she be so infatuated with him?

Ava felt that if things continued this way, if someday they really ended their agreement and parted, she feared adapting to a life without him would be difficult, truly terrifying.

In her heart, she thought, but actually, Ava wasn’t afraid at all.

She had long gotten used to living alone; for more than ten years, she had been alone, it was impossible that just a few months with a man would render her incapable of living.

She, Ava Sterling, was not so fragile.

With everything sorted, Ava, in great spirits, left the bathroom, heading to the walk-in closet to find clothes.

Once dressed, she would eat, and then go for a stroll.

She hadn’t had much of a walk last night.

Today, she must go out for a stroll.

As for Poe Vaughn, he must be busy. He’s here not for fun, but for work.

In the living room.

The service staff and manager set lunch on the dining table before leaving, while Poe Vaughn took a call while watching them arrange the meal.

As soon as he stepped out and opened the door, the call came in.

And when the service staff and manager left, and the suite door closed, his gaze fell upon the bedroom.

Inside, there was some movement, then the sound of water splashing came through.

Ava was up, she was coming for lunch.

Poe Vaughn wasn’t surprised.

Listening to the work report on the phone, Poe Vaughn didn’t speak, until Quentin Quinn finished reporting when he uttered a low monosyllable: "Hmm."

After Quentin finished, he continued, "The old man woke up today, but his consciousness wasn’t very clear. Yet, from all aspects after waking, everything is much better."

"However, the old man hadn’t been awake for long before he fell asleep again. The doctors say it’s due to his old age, no major issue."

Hearing this shift from work report to family matters, Poe Vaughn’s eyes subtly flickered: "Let someone keep a closer watch on the old man."

"Understood."

"However, there’s one more thing."

Quentin paused after speaking, unsure if he should continue.

Poe Vaughn didn’t speak again, waiting for him to continue.

And Quentin, hearing the quiet on the line, knew Poe Vaughn was waiting for him to finish the report.

He thought for a moment and continued, "It’s about your father being hospitalized yesterday too, due to getting overly agitated, emotional distress, and receiving a kick from your aunt, which caused some internal injury. Not too severe but can’t be underestimated either; given your father’s age, he needs some hospital time."

"He remained unconscious from yesterday’s admission to this morning, but he woke up just half an hour ago. He learned about the Rhodes Family threatening Ronia with Julian for a divorce. He seemed unwilling, wanting to find the old man, and to seek out Ronia, but was stopped by the people we sent. The Rhodes Family quickly came over, resulting in a dispute, and your father passed out again."

"The doctor advises that there should not be major upheavals now in your father’s condition; otherwise, it might worsen and leave a disease root."

This matter, Quentin initially didn’t want to mention, but considering Hayden being President Vaughn’s father, and the current situation with the Rhodes Family, he decided to inform President Vaughn.

At least to let President Vaughn be aware of the situation.

Poe Vaughn listened to the sound of the bathroom door opening in the bedroom, the sound of footsteps moving; his expression unchanged, he opened his lips.
