The horse was the same size as the carriage itself, which was already quite large.

And it was no ordinary horse. It was fully black in color, with glowing blue eyes. Theo could process that, but what truly unsettled him were its mist-like hooves that didn't even seem to touch the ground.

It was as if its hooves were ethereal, something not of the physical world.

"Such a majestic creature…" Theo muttered, and Bram beside him nodded in agreement.

"That is the most prestigious carriage beast the Merrick family owns, young master," Clara said as she walked up beside him, now traveling right behind Theo.

"I see…" Theo moved forward, and it wasn't until he reached the last step that he truly grasped just how big the horse was.

It was nearly three times his size, both in height and breadth.

The Baron quickly moved to stand beside the first carriage before turning toward his children.

"Lucien, Elara, Theo, and Bram, get in this one," he spoke with authority, and nobody questioned it.

Theo smiled at Bram before following the others to their assigned carriage. The others were given similar seating arrangements.

"I will meet you outside the noble gathering, young master," Clara bid farewell and walked toward the last carriage, where the attendants were seated.

The final carriage was the longest, as if it was designed to accommodate all the attendants.

Theo stepped inside the carriage and attempted to open the window, but Lucien stopped him.

"We still can't show you to the town before you reach the age of ten, Theo and Bram," Lucien stated, locking the window again.

The carriage started moving a minute later, and everyone settled into their seats comfortably.

"It seems Father arranged this seating for a reason, Theo. He's already told me about your situation, you're quite the daring one." Lucien spoke bluntly, and a grin was plastered on his face, making Elara's ears perk up.

'So that's why he didn't ask what beast I tamed, huh…' Theo thought before nodding.

"Does that mean I can know too, Theo? Seeing that I'm in this carriage," Elara asked with a beautiful smile.

"…Do you really know about my situation, big brother Lucien?" Theo asked, hesitating slightly, as questioning him could lead to an entirely different scenario.

"I'm your oldest brother, Theo. If I don't know your situation, how will I protect you?" Lucien said with a snort.

Theo was genuinely surprised, and Lucien sighed before speaking again.

"You tamed an insect, didn't you?" he asked with a knowing smile.

A shiver ran down Theo's spine, but he didn't show it. Up until now, he thought this might have been some kind of trick—a ploy to make him confess before the official family meeting.

"What?!" Elara's face showed so much shock that Theo had never seen her like this.

"I-Is this true, Theo?" Bram was equally stunned.

Theo took a deep breath before putting on his poker face again. He nodded, repeatedly making Elara glance between Lucien and Theo.

"A Merrick taming an insect… why am I not surprised, Lucien?" she asked with a chuckle.

"That's exactly what I said to Father," Lucien sighed before looking at Theo with a smile.

"You don't have to be scared about it, younger brother. Father told me what you've accomplished as well. Alfred also spoke of your feats in the Moss Slime and Thornhide Viper territories."

Bram finally understood why Theo had been so busy all this time.

"So that's why you're already level 2… your insect must be level 3 by now. But… oh, I get it now." Elara suddenly nodded in realization.

"What?"

"How he leveled up so fast. Not one insect I know of is above the Ordinary grade. If Theo really made his beast defeat stronger creatures, then that means it not only got a level bonus for defeating higher-ranked beasts that a Merrick will obviously go for but also a grade bonus." She explained, and Lucien nodded with a hum of agreement.

Theo could tell she was smart, and the way she pieced everything together so quickly showed just how sharp she truly was.

"You are right about that, elder sister. The beast I tamed was an Iron Mantis, which was only level 1 at the time, hunting mere roaches. It was Ordinary grade too." Theo spoke with confidence, surprising them.

"…Was?" Elara repeated, frowning. Theo had used so much past tense that it didn't make sense anymore.

His smile widened before he revealed, "My mantis is not only level 3 now, but its species has completely changed. It is now known as the Moss Carapace Mantis. But not only that… the mantis is no longer Ordinary grade. It's Uncommon now, elder brothers and sister."

Lucien simply stretched his hand as if he already knew, while Elara's mouth hung open in shock, and Bram looked completely lost.

"Do you expect me to believe that, Theo? What a load of nonsense," Elara finally spoke, dropping all pretense of formality.

"As much as I agree with you, Elara… Theo is telling the truth," Lucien interjected. "Father and Alfred both told me the same thing. And you already know… Alfred never lies." He gave her a side glance, and Elara's jaw dropped further in disbelief.

"I can almost believe that you reached level 2 using an insect, Theo… but what I don't understand is how you changed its species. And how was a grade change even possible?" she asked, her curiosity turning frantic.

It seemed she was too deep into the topic now.

"That's a long explanation, elder sister," Theo said before glancing at Lucien. "How long before we reach there, elder brother?"

"An hour at most."

"Perfect."

From that point on, Theo carefully explained everything, making sure only to share the information he had already told the Baron.

Everyone was in awe throughout the story. Some parts felt so unbelievable that they seemed like a complete fantasy.

Which was ironic—since they were already living in a fantasy world.

Just like that, within thirty minutes, Theo had told them everything he needed to.

And every single person in the carriage sat there, jaws hanging in complete dumbfoundedness.
