Upon receiving the distress signals and confirming it was from inside Dimitri’s belly, I immediately sent a telepathic message to Grandmaster Freidrick that I need to leave yet again, promising it would be the last for the current term since it is finally Dimitri’s turn. I easily got the permission I needed to leave the academe grounds.
I quickly went to Void’s room to ask if he wanted to go back with me to Tadhana again since I need to assist on another birth. He sleepily told me that he would stay since I will be back by the next day anyway. He went back to sleep in his cozy bed afterwards.
When I came out of Void’s room, Arthur was already attentively waiting by the door as if sending me off in good luck. I gave him the same kiss on the lips I gave to Void and instructed him to keep his pregnant housemate well-fed. He nodded enthusiastically with an evident blush on his face.
Instead of going directly to Eieneos, I did not forget to teleport to Arista fiest to fetch my grandparents-in-law while constantly communicating telepathically to the babies to calm down and not stress out their father too much. I don’t have a choice but multitask to ensure that I am constantly assuring the babies and Dimitri as well that I will be with them the soonest to help out.
Surprisingly, the elderly couple already have their things ready, clearly prepared of the possibility of Dimitri giving birth any day or time. Though they seem to be calm on the outside, the speed in how they were moving around and their eyes show the worry that they feel while they are not with their only grandson yet.
After making sure that they have brought every possible thing that their grandson and great grandchildren might need in this important milestone for their family, we teleported directly to the plaza within the Eieneos palace gardens. This is the first time my grandparents-in-law have seen the place and they could not help but look around in awe.
Their wandering of their eyes did not even last a few seconds before they refocused on the situation at hand as they urgently hurried me to bring them to Dimitri who must be in pain as of the moment. I never intended to slow down but thinking of their well-being as well since they are elderly and first timers in realm switching, I purposely opted to make a pause in between teleportations.
Since they looked alright and they seem to be more affected by worry for their grandson instead of the expected teleportation sickness, I started the teleportation again and this time, the target location was the corridor right outside of Dimitri’s personal quarters in my palace. After we reappeared in the corridor, I immediately guided the elderly couple to their grandson’s room.
When I entered the room, this time, not only Ioannis was inside to give support to the man who is in labor. Kayden was there as well. It was like his small act of paying it forward after he was comforted by Ioannis when he was in the same situation barely a week ago. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
Though pale and weak from pain, Dimitri’s face was calm and he was simply staring towards the ceiling, keeping his composure. Upon hearing the door open and seeing the people who have just arrived, his facade of calmness immediately broke and tears started to fall from his eyes. Ioannis and Kayden gave way as his grandparents walked towards the left side of the bed and I immediately went to his right to hold his hand and ease his pain.
He was giving an assuring smile to his grandparents to hide that he was in pain when his face suddenly stiffened. He turned his head slowly towards my direction, his face showing a mix of disbelief and confusion. I smiled at him and mouthed, "I am taking away the pain now."
Not even five minutes passed when my group of three arrived when my parents arrived as well together with my father’s specially prepared kit for this type of occasion. With practiced movements, my mother prepared the area where the babies will be cleaned, clothed and the crib where they will be placed for sleeping.
My father then took Dimitri’s right hand from me as he replaced my previous role. I quickly placed both my palms gently on Dimitri’s belly this time to start the birthing process as soon as possible. With that, Ioannis and Kayden left the room to give us some space.
Dimitri’s grandparents chose to stay and simply stood near my mother, watching in awe as me and my father did our tasks with silent but very efficient teamwork. It did not even take half an hour for the whole process to be completed.
The first one to come out was our little girl after about 10 minutes of soothing her with my mana and then our little boy just a couple of minutes after her. The third, another boy, waited about 2 minutes before he came out. All throughout the process, I never stopped putting soothing mana into Dimitri’s body to keep him calm, pain-free and relaxed.
All those times that I was doing my tasks in assisting Dimitri, he just kept his eyes one me, staring at my face. Sometimes, our eyes would meet since I habitually check if he is in any pain or discomfort. On those times that I look into his eyes, all I can see was his unwavering trust in me as if he believed that I can resolve everything in this world and that I would take care of him and the babies no matter what.
After the triplets were out, I finally looked at him and gave him a reassuring smile that everything went well. After confirming that no accidents occurred, that was the only time I saw Dimitri finally closed his eyes to take his much needed rest.
Dimitri surprisingly only slept for a couple of hours before he woke up naturally and feeling refreshed. I do not know if this became possible due to the fact that he has a tiny percentage of mystique blood in his veins.
