They left one man behind to stay with the patient while the rest left.

Carter called Nurse Jenner over.

"I’m a little tired. I will get some sleep now. If you need help with surgery, contact Dr. Hugo. His surgery skill is the best after me." Carter said.

"Of course, Dr. Frankenstein." Nurse Jenner nodded.

Carter returned to his office.

[TERROR BAT EQUIPPED]

He turned into a bat and flew out of the window.

Carter followed the men from before to learn more about them.

The men were very cautious and checked the surroundings frequently. Carter had to fly a bit higher than usual to stay out of their perception.

They arrived at a secluded alley.

"Return to the pack. The Manley Tribe has crossed the line. They need to answer for their crimes."

They howled and transformed into average size wolves.

’Huh?’ Carter observed everything in his bat form. ’Why are they so... small?’

In Carter’s impression, a werewolf was supposed to be huge and a hybrid of human and wolf. They needed to be menacing and powerful.

A simple werewolf should be able to kill multiple vampires. It was always like that in the mythology back in Earth.

But here, the werewolves were just Awakens with the power to transform into wolves. Their wolf form wasn’t even that impressive either.

Carter was deeply disappointed.

’This isn’t true werewolf.’

Carter followed the wolves out of the city. They ran straight into the forest. There Carter found even more werewolves.

Each wolf was distinct and had its own characteristics. Some were fiercer and had a thicker coat. Some looked innocent and reserved like puppies. But none had the stature of a true werewolves.

They howled in the night and all of them transformed back into human.

Unfortunately, unlike in the movies. These wolves transformed back into naked humans and there were no censorship to them like what Carter used to in the film industry.

’Welp. All I can say is they have excellent muscles.’

"How is Theo?" An old man with long white hair said.

"He is fine, Alpha. Luckily there is this new doctor in Luandon. He is excellent and able to save Theo just in time."

The old man nodded, "We owe him. If that doctor face any trouble, remember to repay him."

"As you wish, Alpha."

Another man stepped forward and screamed, "The Manley needs to pay for their crimes!"

He howled and many others howled with him.

The Alpha raised his hands and everyone immediately shut up.

"I know you are all enraged. We shall have our revenge. But the Manley Tribe has much more members than us. If we’re going to start a war with them, we will certainly lose."

Those men and women howled again.

"Then what do you suggest, Alpha? That we need to ignore it?" A female screamed.

’They spoke just like dogs. Barking and shouting.’ Carter thought to himself.

"Of course not. We can never dishonor our ancestors. If the Manley has harmed us, we shall give it back to them ten folds. But there is a smart way to do that."

The Alpha raised his fist, "Who is with me!"

Many howled and many agreed with him. The Alpha led a group of naked men away, seemingly to find this Manley Tribe and demand an answer.

’I wonder if there is a reason for negotiation. Otherwise, leading your men into the territory of your enemy is a stupid endeavor.’

The remaining werewolves scattered. They returned to a secret place inside the forest where they hid their clothes.

They put their clothes back on and returned to being an ordinary person.

Carter secretly followed a member. When there was no one around, he attacked the werewolf.

[DRACULA EQUIPPED]

Carter immediately used The Monster Beneath and turned into a large bat monster.

The werewolf reacted quickly He jumped out of the way and transformed into a gray wolf. His clothes were torn apart because of the transformation.

’They are quite fast. They must have an Awaken Reflexes or Agility Skill.’

The wolf sized him up and growled. It lost the ability to speak in wolf form.

’Another minus point for the werewolves.’

The wolf looked around. It didn’t know what kind of monster it was facing. And it didn’t want to test its mortality either.

The wolf picked a direction and ran away. But it wasn’t quicker than Dracula.

Dracula bolted forward in a straight line and grabbed the wolf.

The wolf whimpered and squirmed in his hand. It bit into the hand of Dracula and its teeth shattered.

Dracula’s skin was hard like stone.

’Foolish. I have Awaken Toughness Skill.’

Carter opened his mouth and bit into the wolf. His venom caused the wolf to paralyze immediately.

He dropped the wolf on the ground. Its wide eyes were full of terror.

Carter didn’t suck too much blood out of it. Otherwise, it would have died. The blood of the werewolf did have a funny taste about it. It had Corruption inside it. A different Corruption from the Undead Corruption.

The wolf turned back into the naked man. It watched as the large bat monster slowly walked toward it.

The man moaned in fear. He wanted to shout for help but his throat felt like a thousand ton.

"You... Who are you..." The man uttered a few words.

The bat monster shrunk and transformed into a man. An ability that the werewolf thought only its kind had.

’There is another kind like us...’ The naked man thought.

Carter’s transformation was much more graceful. His wings turned into his clothes and a top hat appeared on his head. The two fangs glowed eerily at the corner of his lips.

Carter took his hat off and bowed.

"It’s a pleasure to meet you. I am Vladimir Wampyr. Prince of Transylvania.

Count... Dracula."

"Dra... Dracula?" The naked man breathed heavily.

Carter grabbed the man’s head and hypnotized him. He used his power to learn all he could about the werewolf tribe and the supernatural beings in this world.

In Terrorstate, there were Invokers. Natural Awakens that could use magic-like projection.

In Corrupted Corps, there were the Pure Blood. Those that were immune to the Corruption of the Black Blood.
