Infinite Skin System: Starting as An Eldritch Knight-Chapter 53: Mindless Infected
Carter unsheathed the Prisoner. He placed the blade onto the Holy Fire Bracer and scraped.
A wave of fire shot toward the zombies and burned them. The zombies did not know pain. They only knew rage.
The horde rushed at Carter.
Carter lifted his sword and aimed it at the closest zombie. As soon as it was in range, he thrust forward and pierced into the neck of the zombie.
With one swing to the size, Carter pulled its spine out and detached its head from its body.
The zombie continued forward but was blinded. It tripped on its feet and fell to the ground.
Carter had already moved on to the next one. Two precise cuts aimed at the knee, causing the next zombie to kneel down. A third strike decapitated its head.
The remaining four zombie’s surrounded him. Carter spun and swiped the blade over each burning zombie, causing them to back off.
He jumped on one, landing on it and pushing its flaming body to the ground. He crushed its sloppy head with his thick heel.
The fire didn’t catch on to him.
Carter quickly decapitated the remaining three zombies and kicked them to the ground.
He slid the Prisoner back to its scabbard with a ’click’.
"Hmm?" Carter raised an eyebrow.
The zombies convulsed and trembled on the ground. It almost seemed like they were feeling pain from the fire.
’Their Negative Energy seems to burn away because of the Holy Fire.’
They writhed for a while before become entirely motionless.

’Holy Fire is made to deal with Terror. It isn’t just killing them by force but also has the power to purify them. I see... It purifies the Undead and strips them of their immortality.
Killing Undead also raised Eldritch Knight’s Synchronization... So it isn’t just Terror. Probably other evil beings also count toward his Synchronization.’
Charles and Peter approached Carter. Their eyes lingered on the burned corpses on the ground.
"I have to admit, Zen. I traveled far and wide. But I’ve never seen anyone that can deal with these Undead like you." Charles said.
"Are you a warrior of god?" Peter was barely able to keep calm.
"I am not, Peter. I am only a torment man with a heavy duty on my shoulders."
Carter squatted down and converted a zombie. He wanted to see whether he could convert an Undead like this.

’It works. Killing them with Holy Fire still allow them to be treated as Undead.’
In front of Charles and Peter’s eyes, the body of the zombie disintegrated into nothingness.
They thought they could no longer be surprised anymore. But this white swordsman kept giving them questions they didn’t know how to answer.
"How did you do that?" Charles said.
"It is only simple purification. Every Eldritch Knight knows how to do that."
"If we survive this, Zeneros, you have to visit my house some day. We need to talk more about your life." Charles said enthusiastically.
"Of course, Charles. Some day."

They continued on their journey. The streets of Art Meadow were only a shadow of what it used to be. The place was trashed with garbage and empty beer bottles.
But this place wasn’t filled by zombies to the brim like the previous Quarantined Zone. There were still people here.
The three of them saw many homeless people on the streets. They walked around in a daze like a mindless zombie. They weren’t actual zombies but they were very close to turning.
Charles and Peter already put on a face mask to avoid contracting the disease. Carter didn’t care though, his Elite Rank was already the biggest protection.
Charles shook his head, "This place is a dump. It was once the most beautiful part of Orkshire."
His eyes widened as he saw someone familiar. A petite girl that was currently standing and bending over at the same time. Her body swayed in an eerie rhythm.
"Maria? Is that you? Are you alright, girl?"
Maria was a maid at his house once.
Charles was just about to touch her but Carter pulled him back.
"Touch is also a good way to get yourself sick."
The mindless people heard them. They surrounded them without any hesitation.
"Please, kind sir! Give me some shillings!"
"Get! Get! Get!" 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"Give me your money now!"
"Argh! Haha!"
They were crazy and mad. They raised their hands toward the trio.
"Begone or I shall attack you." Carter raised his blade.
They didn’t stop.
"So be it."
The white swordsman chopped the hand off of a poor man. Blood splashed out on the ground and onto Carter’s Anti-Demonic Robe. The blood on his robe sizzled and disappeared immediately.
The rest of the homeless people ran away in fear. The man grabbed his detached arm before following them.
"You didn’t hold back at all." Charles said.
"I did hold back. If I did the right thing, I would have killed them all to prevent the disease from spreading."
Carter shook his head in disdain. He showed a clear contempt toward the state of the streets and the state of the people.
"Every world has its own pain."
They made their way to the Barret Museum.
Carter killed a few more full-on zombies on the way. He spared the ones that were still human.
Charles and Peter didn’t even have the chance to use their pistols and knives at all. Carter protected them so well they didn’t even need to lift a finger.

Carter split a zombie into two vertical parts and ended his bloodshed. He turned that last one into a shard before joining Charles and Peter.
"Why do you have to purify every Undead, Zen?" Charles said.
"Force of habit. In my homeland, evil beings like them would return. They’d return stronger, faster, bigger. You have to make sure they are gone for good."
Carter, of course, was talking out of his ass. He just wanted Skin Shards. It was a good way to build lore into his characters also.
The white swordsman glanced to the empty street, "I suspect that it could mitigate the spread of this disease somewhat too."
"You’re an honorable man, Zeneros." Peter said.
The three of them stopped in front of a tall luxurious building.
"We’re here." Carter said.
