Infinite Regeneration In The Apocalypse-Chapter 147: Pet; Snow Flake
The mysterious golden egg he had received as a legendary loot drop after defeating the Thousand-Radiant Baby Ghost during his trial. The item that had shown nothing but question marks when he tried to appraise it.
He had completely forgotten about it during all the chaos and transformations of the past week.
Vogue pulled the egg from his inventory space. It materialized in his hands, roughly the size of a large ostrich egg. The shell was pure metallic gold that seemed to shift and shimmer with internal movement. Strange runic patterns covered its surface, pulsing slowly like a heartbeat.
On impulse, driven by the success of using his blood to nurture the Creation Seed, Vogue decided to try the same approach with this egg.
He used one sharp talon to slice open his palm, and blood immediately began dripping from the wound onto the egg’s surface.
The moment his divine dragon blood made contact with the golden shell, something extraordinary happened.
The egg began absorbing the blood like a dry sponge, drinking it in with desperate hunger. The runic patterns started glowing brighter, pulsing faster and faster as more blood was consumed.
Vogue continued letting his blood drip onto the egg, his regeneration ensuring he never ran low despite the continuous drain.
After approximately five minutes of constant absorption, the egg suddenly began to shake and tremble in his hands.
Hairline cracks appeared across the golden surface, spreading rapidly like a spiderweb of breaks. Light leaked through the cracks—brilliant multi-colored light that contained every elemental affinity simultaneously.
The cracks widened. The egg was hatching.
Vogue held his breath, his heart racing with anticipation and excitement.
What kind of creature was about to emerge from this legendary egg that had required divine blood to awaken?
The shell broke apart completely, golden fragments falling away to reveal...
The golden shell fragments fell away completely, tumbling from Vogue’s hands and dissolving into motes of light before they even hit the floor. And there, sitting in his palm where the egg had been just moments before, was...
A chicken.
An actual, ordinary-looking chicken.
Vogue stared at the tiny creature in complete stunned silence, his mind struggling to process what he was seeing.
The hatchling was covered in pristine white feathers that were so pure they almost seemed to glow with their own inner luminescence. It was remarkably small—no larger than Vogue’s fist—with a small yellow beak and tiny black eyes that blinked up at him with what appeared to be innocent curiosity.
"Cheep!" the baby chicken chirped softly, tilting its head to one side as it observed him.
Vogue continued staring in disbelief. This was what had come from a legendary loot drop? This was what had been contained in a mysterious golden egg marked with divine runes and requiring dragon blood to hatch?
A chicken?
He had been expecting something magnificent. A phoenix, perhaps, given the fire-related patterns he’d seen on the shell. Or maybe a divine thunder bird, or an ancient dragon hatchling, or literally any kind of mythical beast that would justify the egg’s legendary status.
But no. It was just a chicken. A very white, very ordinary-looking chicken.
Vogue activated his appraisal ability, desperately hoping the system would provide some explanation that made this make sense.
The holographic display appeared before his eyes:
[Name: ???]
[Species: ???]
[Grade: ???]
[Level: Hatchling]
[Abilities: ???]
[Growth Potential: ???]
[Note: Bloodline recognition required for full data access]
Everything was still question marks except for the level designation. The system apparently couldn’t identify what kind of creature this actually was, which was simultaneously frustrating and intriguing.
If even his appraisal ability couldn’t determine the chicken’s true nature, then perhaps there was more to this creature than its deceptively mundane appearance suggested.
"Cheep! Cheep!" the white chicken chirped again, louder this time. It began moving around in Vogue’s palm, its tiny clawed feet tickling his skin as it explored its immediate surroundings.
Then, without any warning whatsoever, the chicken suddenly pecked at Vogue’s palm with its small beak.
The peck should have been completely harmless—just a baby bird testing its environment. But instead, Vogue felt a sharp stabbing pain as the beak actually pierced through his dragon scales and drew blood.
His eyes widened in shock. His dragon scales in transformed state were harder than reinforced steel. They could withstand attacks from Peak Stage Stellar Knights without showing damage. Yet this tiny chicken had just casually punctured them with a simple peck.
The white chicken drank a single drop of the blood that welled up from the tiny wound, swallowing it quickly.
The moment that drop of blood entered its system, something changed.
The chicken’s entire body suddenly began glowing with brilliant white light that forced Vogue to squint. The light intensified for several seconds, becoming almost blindingly bright.
Then it faded just as quickly, and the chicken returned to its normal appearance.
Except now there was a subtle difference. The white feathers seemed somehow more radiant than before, and the chicken’s eyes had gained a certain intelligence and awareness that hadn’t been present moments ago.
A new system notification appeared:
[Bloodline Bond Established]
[Beast Companion Recognized] 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
[Partial Data Unlocked]
[Name: Unnamed (Awaiting designation)]
[Species: Heaven’s Enigma chicken(Divine)]
[Grade: ???]
[Current Level: Hatchling (Level 1)]
[Loyalty: 99%]
[Current Abilities: None (Hatchling stage)]
[Growth Potential: Unlimited(Adaptive)]
Vogue read through the information , and his expression shifted from disappointment to gradually interest.
Heaven’s Enigma Fowl with Divine Variant classification. The name alone suggested this was no ordinary creature despite its chicken-like appearance.
More importantly, the growth potential was listed as "unlimited" rather than showing a cap. And the special trait was particularly intriguing—it consumed bloodlines to evolve and gain abilities.
That meant this chicken could potentially transform into something far more powerful by absorbing the essence of other creatures. Given that Vogue possessed a divine-tier dragon bloodline and could produce unlimited blood through his regeneration, he essentially had an infinite resource to feed this creature.
If he invested enough time and blood into nurturing this companion, it might eventually evolve into something truly extraordinary.
The white chicken chirped again and suddenly spread its tiny wings, flapping them experimentally. To Vogue’s surprise, the hatchling actually lifted off from his palm and hovered in the air for several seconds before gently floating back down.
It could fly already, mere minutes after hatching. That was definitely not normal chicken behavior.
"Alright," Vogue said out loud, addressing the small creature. "I suppose I should give you a name since you’re apparently going to be my companion from now on."
The chicken tilted its head and looked at him with those intelligent black eyes, almost as if it understood his words.
Vogue considered various grandiose names that might suit a divine beast—names like Solaris, or Radiance, or Celestial Fury.
But somehow, looking at this tiny white chicken chirping innocently in his hands, none of those dramatic names felt appropriate.
"I’ll call you Snowflake," Vogue finally decided.
The chicken, Snowflake, chirped happily and nuzzled against his palm, apparently accepting the name.
[Designation Accepted: Snowflake]
[Bond Strengthened]
Vogue smiled slightly despite himself. He had expected a legendary phoenix or divine beast, and instead he had hatched what appeared to be a magical chicken with growth potential.
But stranger things had happened during his journey. And who knew—maybe in a few months or years, after consuming enough divine bloodlines and evolving repeatedly, Snowflake would transform into something that made phoenixes look ordinary by comparison.
For now, he stored the small chicken safely in his internal world, placing it in one of the gentler regions where it could move around freely without danger. The creature settled immediately into the new environment, already beginning to explore its surroundings with curious pecks and chirps.
Vogue deactivated his dragon transformation, his body returning to normal human form. He had been in this training room for over a week now between nurturing the Creation Seed and testing his various new abilities.
It was definitely time to leave before Fiona charged him enough rental fees to bankrupt him.
He deactivated the incognito mode, and the steel walls began rising back into the ceiling. Light from the hallway flooded in as the room unsealed itself.
Vogue collected his belongings, made sure everything was stored properly in his inventory, and headed toward the exit.
When he reached the reception desk downstairs, Fiona looked up from her work and her eyes went comically wide.
"You’ve been in there for Eight Days! I thought you were dead at this point." she exclaimed, checking her computer screen to verify.
Vogue eyes twitched at the amount it was you her coat to pay for continues eight days. This place was even more expensive than an hotel!
But he pulled out his Stellar Knight ID card, which was connected to his bank account. "Just charge it. It was worth the expense."
Fiona snorted and took the card. Then she processed the payment, and Vogue tried very hard not to look at the final total that flashed on the screen. His savings draining like big hole inside it.
But he had gained an internal world, mastered a flight technique, and hatched a mysterious divine chicken companion.
All things considered, it had been an extremely productive week.
