Infinite Regeneration In The Apocalypse-Chapter 140: Exchange Of Treasures
The next morning, Vogue woke up to the sound of his communication device buzzing insistently on the small bedside table. He reached over groggily and checked the message that had arrived.
It was from Sean, sent early in the morning.
[Hey Vogue, do you have some free time today? I’d like to meet up and discuss something important. Let me know when works for you. - Sean]
Vogue read the message and considered it briefly. Sean had been genuinely helpful during the registration process, and their interaction had been pleasant overall. Whatever the young man wanted to discuss was probably worth hearing out.
He sent back a quick affirmative response and arranged to meet in a couple of hours.
Gloria was still sleeping peacefully in his bed, her breathing soft and steady. Vogue leaned over and kissed her forehead gently to wake her.
"I need to go meet someone for a business discussion," he said quietly when her eyes fluttered open. "I’ll be back later this afternoon."
Gloria stretched and yawned, then pulled him down for a proper goodbye kiss that lasted considerably longer than a simple peck. "Be careful out there. And don’t let anyone take advantage of you in negotiations."
"I won’t," Vogue promised with a smile.
He got dressed, made sure he had his identification card and other essentials, and then left his small apartment.
About twenty minutes later, Vogue walked into an upscale restaurant located in the border area between the second and third rings of the city. The establishment was clearly expensive, with elegant decor and well-dressed staff attending to the relatively few customers who could afford to eat here.
Sean had reserved an entire private room on the second floor. When Vogue was escorted inside by a waiter, he found the space set up with a large table laden with various foods and drinks. Premium dishes that Vogue recognized from magazines but had never actually tasted. Bottles of wine that probably cost more than a month’s rent.
Sean was already seated at the head of the table, and there was another person sitting beside him—a distinguished-looking man with pure white hair despite appearing to be only in his forties. The white-haired man had sharp, intelligent eyes and an aura of considerable power that marked him as a high-level cultivator.
"Vogue! You made it!" Sean stood up with a genuine smile and gestured welcomingly. "Come in, sit down, make yourself comfortable."
Vogue entered and took a seat across from the two of them. "Thanks for the invitation. This place is quite impressive."
Sean grinned. "Only the best for important discussions. Let me introduce you—this is my uncle, Mr. White. He’s one of the elders of the Klein Family and handles a lot of our more sensitive business arrangements."
The white-haired man nodded politely. "A pleasure to meet you, Young Master Vogue. Sean has told me quite a bit about your impressive talents and potential."
"The pleasure is mine," Vogue responded respectfully, returning the nod. He could sense that this man was powerful—likely at the Full Moon level of Stellar Knight realm or possibly even higher.
For the next thirty minutes, they engaged in casual conversation while eating and drinking. Sean was an excellent host, keeping the atmosphere light and friendly with jokes and entertaining stories. They laughed together, shared cultivation anecdotes, and discussed various topics ranging from university choices to recent events in the city.
Vogue found himself genuinely enjoying the social interaction despite his natural caution about the Klein Family’s ultimate motives.
Finally, after the meal had concluded and the dishes were cleared away, Sean’s expression became more serious and businesslike.
"Alright, let’s get down to the actual reason I invited you here today," Sean said, his friendly tone shifting to something more formal.
He reached into his storage device and pulled out two books and a small ornate key, placing all three items carefully on the table in front of Vogue.
"These are what my family is prepared to offer in exchange for that Heaven Grade technique you mentioned possessing."
Vogue picked up the first book and examined it carefully. The cover was made of some kind of treated leather, and the title was embossed in gold lettering.
[Heaven’s Limit]
[Grade: Sky-Tier Movement Technique]
He opened the book and read through the introductory pages explaining the technique’s principles and stages.
Heaven’s Limit was described as a rare aerial movement technique that allowed the user to manifest wings formed from condensed spiritual energy. As the practitioner advanced through the levels, the wings grew stronger and granted increasingly greater control over flight and aerial combat.
First Level – Spirit Wings: The user condenses their spiritual energy behind their back to form a pair of translucent, barely visible wings. These wings allow limited flight capability and greatly enhance overall mobility, enabling the user to soar through the air at speeds of up to 90 kilometers per hour. Useful for reconnaissance and avoiding ground-based threats.
Second Level – Celestial Wings: The wings expand significantly in both size and density, becoming far more stable and powerful in their construction. At this stage, the user gains true mastery of aerial movement with the capability for sustained long-duration flight and execution of rapid complex maneuvers through the sky at speeds up to 300 kilometers per hour.
Third Level – Heavenbreaker Wings: The wings undergo a final transformation, becoming vast constructs of condensed heavenly energy that span dozens of meters. With a single powerful beat of these ultimate wings, the user can pierce through the air resistance like a comet tearing through the atmosphere, reaching Mach 1 speed and leaving a thunderous sonic boom in their wake.
Vogue’s eyebrows rose appreciatively. This was an excellent technique that would give him true three-dimensional combat capability. Combined with his time and elemental abilities, aerial superiority would make him nearly untouchable in most fights.
He set down the first book and picked up the second one.
[False Domain Expansion]
[Grade: Sky-Tier Special Technique]
This one made Vogue’s eyes widen considerably when he read the description.
False Domain Expansion was a technique that allowed the user to create an artificial domain similar to the signature ability that only Luminous Realm experts naturally possessed.
Normally, only cultivators who had broken through to the Luminous Realm could manifest a true Domain—a zone of absolute control where the user’s will shaped reality itself. Domains were one of the defining characteristics that separated Luminous Realm experts from everyone below them.
But this technique somehow replicated that ability, albeit in a limited and temporary form, allowing even Stellar Knights to utilize domain-like powers. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
When activated, the False Domain would expand around the user in a sphere of influence. For the duration that the domain remained active:
∙ Every attack the user launched would automatically become a critical hit, striking with maximum possible damage
∙ All attacks would achieve 100% accuracy with absolutely no possibility of missing, as though fate itself guided them to their targets
∙ No energy would be wasted whatsoever—every bit of power used would translate directly into effective damage
∙ The opponent’s energy reserves would be constantly drained at a steady rate just from existing within the domain’s influence
The technique had severe limitations compared to a true Luminous Realm domain—it could only be maintained for short bursts before exhausting the user, and it didn’t grant the reality-warping abilities that true domains possessed. But even so, it was an incredibly powerful trump card that could turn the tide of otherwise unwinnable battles.
These two techniques were genuinely rare and valuable. Most Sky-Tier techniques were jealously guarded by major families and never offered for trade at any price.
Vogue nodded his head with contentment as he set down the second book. "These techniques are both excellent and I can see their value. However, they’re still not quite enough to exchange for a complete Heaven Grade technique."
Heaven Grade techniques were simply on another level entirely. They were foundational methods that could support cultivation all the way to the Saint Realm if mastered properly. Sky-Tier techniques, while impressive, had inherent limitations that prevented advancement beyond a certain point.
Sean smiled knowingly, not seeming surprised or offended by Vogue’s assessment. "Of course, Vogue. I completely understand that, and my family agrees with your evaluation. But what if we added something extra to the exchange to make it more equitable?"
He turned to his uncle. "Uncle White, if you would?"
The white-haired man nodded seriously and reached into his own storage device. He pulled out an exquisite jade box that was carved with intricate protective formations. The box itself radiated a faint spiritual energy that suggested whatever was inside was extremely precious.
Vogue raised an eyebrow with curiosity. "What’s this?"
Sean grinned. "Haha, Vogue! Just open it and see for yourself. Don’t judge a book by its cover, my friend."
Still somewhat skeptical but genuinely curious now, Vogue carefully opened the jade box.
The moment the lid lifted and he saw what was inside, he couldn’t help but gasp audibly in shock.
Sitting in the center of the box, cushioned on white silk, was what looked like a dried-up seed roughly the size of a baby’s fist. It resembled an oversized sesame seed, wrinkled and brown.
