Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix-Chapter 959: Metamorphosys
Rain clicked his tongue in annoyance… he knew that there was no such thing an easy way out of that situation, but he clicked his tongue because he didn't have time to do anything. The ice dragons made their move…
The dragons began to emit their cold aura and soon that began to take the form of a shield… Rain could tell that they wouldn't just hide forever and his thoughts were confirmed when one of the dragons suddenly moved to the center of the ice cage. Their intention was obvious…
When the creature began to convulse and it's body began to glow, that only took place for half a second… in the next moment, Rain charged in with all his might and passed through the head of the beast.

Rain didn't even have time to do try to get rid of the blood… all of the essence of the creature was completely absorbed by the sword, but it was also split among the shield, armor, and even the gloves that Rain kept equipped… before long, the dragon began to turn into dust as it fell apart.
"I am tired of your suicidal attacks, between let you fuckers do that and let these guys gain power, I guess my option is fairly obvious," Rain said. "It is time to take some risks and leave the future problems to the future me."
Rain prepared to attack the dragons, but soon he saw the shells of two of them opening and the beasts began to charge at him. For creatures that were so scared before, they sure didn't hesitate in deciding to sacrifice themselves…
Rain didn't hesitate either and charged at them… both of the creatures self-exploded even before all of their energy could truly be harnessed. As the two ice dragons triggered their self-destruction, an immense wave of frigid air surged outward, engulfing the entire vicinity in an overwhelming frost.
The bone-chilling cold front swept over Rain with unrelenting force, striking him head-on at full power. The intense gust of cold air brought an instantaneous and cataclysmic drop in temperature that seemed to freeze everything in its path.
When the wave of freezing air finally dissipated, the aftermath revealed Rain's form, encased in a thick layer of ice. He stood frozen in place, transformed into an intricate and eerily beautiful ice sculpture, his figure crystallized within the icy shell. For a moment, it seemed as if Rain had succumbed to the freezing onslaught, trapped forever within the icy prison.
However, moments later, the frozen shell began to crack, fracturing under an unseen pressure from within. Gradually, the ice shattered and fell away, revealing Rain concealed within. He emerged from the broken icy encasement, his body completely blue, almost akin to an ice sculpture that had been carved from the very core of the cold itself.
Despite the chilling appearance and the frigid blue hue that now covered him, Rain was alive. The energy-draining capabilities of the ominous sword had successfully absorbed the majority of the attack's immense power, allowing Rain to survive the freezing ordeal.
The sword had served as a conduit, draining the destructive energy and preserving Rain's life, albeit leaving him temporarily transformed into a living embodiment of icy blue.
Still, his body recovered pretty fast thanks to the energy he had obtained during the attacks and previously… the sword was useful despite having some obvious drawbacks…
"Assholes… I will get them for this," Rain said.
"How? They died, after all," Nigel said. "Still, it looks like they aren't as strong as we thought they would be… I wonder if it is because the stump left this world… or maybe it is because they are tired from working for several weeks nonstop."
"It looks like you opened your big mouth too soon," Larisa said.
As the ice spheres encasing the ice dragons began to crack and fracture, an unexpected turn of events unfolded. From within the fissures of the shattered ice, something different emerged. Amidst the remnants of the broken spheres, figures started to take shape, revealing a startling transformation.
Rain engulfed in a whirlwind of emotions of pain, rage, and an overwhelming chill, was momentarily taken aback by the unexpected turn of events. However, his rage began to subside as he observed the surprising sight before him.

From the shattered icy shells emerged figures that no longer bore the draconic form of the ice dragons. Instead, what emerged were beings taking the shape of humans. The ice dragons had seemingly shed their draconic forms and had assumed the appearance of humans for some odd reason…
Enraged and struggling against the intense cold that still gripped him, Rain couldn't help but feel a sense of shock and curiosity at the sight of these beings now taking on human forms. It was a perplexing and unexpected sight in the midst of the
"What the hell…" Rain furrowed his eyebrows when he saw that the humanoid forms didn't have many details on their bodies, but they were still of the size of an average human.
"They decreased their size to be able to use their power better and more efficiently," Larisa said. "Be careful."
The ice dragons, having taken on human form, presented a truly weird and unsettling appearance. Though now resembling humans in shape, their features were far from ordinary. Their transformation had left them with an alien and eerie appearance.
These humanoid beings lacked several human facial features; there were no mouths or ears to be seen. Their noses were deformed, minimalistic, and almost unrecognizable, with a rather rudimentary structure. What stood out most prominently was their singular, disproportionately large eye dominating their face.
Despite its size, the eye held the same intense blue coloration as its previous draconic form.
