Rain decided to test the relic and feed some mana with it, but he only saw the weapon glowing and changing color to blue… he didn't feel anything else. It needed some mana to fire a pretty considerable amount.

"People in the past had this much mana?" Rain furrowed his eyebrows.

In the end, the weapon had to absorb ten thousand points of mana to be able to fire… at the same time, Rain regretted that a bit since the weapon fired automatically… he didn't even have to pull the trigger.

As Rain saw the relic firing the shot, it pierced the wall of the underwater cave with an eerie silence, an unsettling absence of any typical gunshot noise. The lack of sound was suspicious, especially given the substantial amount of mana that had been infused into the weapon.

Curious about the impact of the shot, Rain moved closer to inspect the hole left behind by the relic. Upon closer examination, Rain noticed something peculiar emanating from the hole—the faint emergence of smoke. The smoke seemed to be a result of the residual effects caused by the mana-infused shot. Intrigued, Rain cautiously approached the hole to investigate further.

As he checked into the opening, Rain saw that the shot had unleashed a formidable power. The mana contained within the relic had dissolved all the matter it had touched within a range of five hundred meters from the impact point.

The scene beyond the hole was a testament to this extraordinary effect—the walls, rocks, and any material in the shot's path had disintegrated, leaving behind a hollowed-out tunnel of dissolved matter… it was thin, but it had a lot of power

This incredible display of destructive power both astounded and unsettled Rain. The sheer potency of the relic's shot, coupled with its silent and devastating effect, raised more questions than answers.

Rain found himself wonder with the implications of wielding such a powerful and enigmatic relic, unsure of the extent of its capabilities or the intentions of those who crafted it… if even that didn't work against the unknown beasts, most likely, fighting back was almost stupid.

"... They are bothering me again," Rain thought and then sighed.

It seemed that Larisa and Nigel noticed the presence of another relic… and it seemed that they were worried that Rain would have another means to not rely on them. In any case, Rain returned to his mental landscape and blinked several times when he found another person there… it was another guy, and he was naked too.

"Where is the bleach?" Rain asked. "I need to purify my eyes."

"I want some, too," Nigel said.

Rain, realizing the importance of providing some dignity for the inhabitants of his mental landscape, took a moment to distribute clothes to everyone present, including the new visitor who had appeared seemingly lost in thought, observing Rain.

The newcomer was a man with short hair, a tall stature, and a robust physique. His appearance suggested an air of strength and resilience. However, what caught Rain's attention were the two noticeable cuts on the left side of the man's eyebrow, hinting at a recent or perhaps memorable injury.

Despite his imposing presence, the man didn't resemble a typical researcher or someone absorbed in scholarly goals. His demeanor and physical attributes projected a different vibe, possibly hinting at a more pragmatic or action-oriented background like a soldier.

His absorbed demeanor while observing Rain implied a sense of contemplation or observation, adding an intriguing dimension to his character within Rain's mental landscape.

"He isn't like us," Larisa said. "His relic is a low-quality one. He might become the person that he once was, but you will need to use his relic a bunch of times, and it is unlikely that he will have memories from his past."

"How he can become the person he once was without the memories of his past?" Rain furrowed his eyebrows.

"It is simple, even without their memories, those who suffer memory loss might act a bit differently, but out of instinct, their body and reactions will reflect the type of people they were," Larisa said. "It is the same thing here. This guy imprinted his ability in the relic, but nothing else since he was most likely a soldier."

Rain found a strange sense of comfort in the presence of the newcomer, despite the uncertainties shrouding the man's past and memories. In contrast to the cunning and suspicion shown by Larisa and Nigel, Rain felt a certain affinity toward the soldier-like newcomer.

He appreciated the straightforwardness and directness that a soldier seemed to embody. His inclination leaned more towards forming a cooperative relationship with someone forthright and action-oriented, akin to a soldier.

Unlike the urge to collect relics for the sake of accumulating power or companionship, Rain didn't approach this new encounter with the intention of adding another entity to his collection. Rather, he saw potential in connecting with the soldier on a different level—an association based on reliability, action, and a shared purpose in navigating the mysteries that unfolded before them.

Someone like that would be easier to trust, even if he were to become a bit emotionless.

Rain's desire wasn't to gather allies like one collects Pokémon; instead, he sought a genuine partnership, an alliance forged through mutual understanding and shared objectives. The relics would eventually be handed over to his friends and family, after all. Total trust was absolutely necessary.

"Despite your appearance, I guess you didn't get along with the nerd types," Nigel said. "Even if you were a boxer, I thought that I had more things in common considering how you like to keep secrets from others. I am disappointed."

"What you've just said I said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard at no point in your rambling incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought," Rain said. "Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it."

"I understood that reference," Nigel said.
