Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix-Chapter 1438: Void Illusions
Chapter 1438: Void Illusions
Sealyn’s early exposure to the harsh realities of conflict and the constant cycle of departure and return had instilled in her a heightened sensitivity to the anxieties and uncertainties that accompanied each mission. While her father may have offered advice or reassurance from a place of concern, Sealyn couldn’t shake the feeling that he didn’t fully comprehend the weight of her situation.
For Sealyn, the passage of time had only reinforced the significance of their missions and the toll it took on those left behind. The relentless anticipation of their safe return weighed heavily on her shoulders...
"See you soon," Rain said after he had done moving half of their forces to his pocket dimension. "Time to get to work."
Sealyn, Van, and the others who would stay behind nodded, and then Rain disappeared. Half of their forces had to stay behind because while they could use Portal Conjuration, it was extremely limited, like they had to focus for several seconds before activating the skill, or they could only make small objects pass through it... with that in mind, it would be better to leave them behind and let them focus on the remaining.
In any case, this time, Rain changed his movements a bit. He didn’t stop anywhere along the way for more than a minute, but he still checked all of the planets along the way before reaching the enemy’s territory.
Rain checked most of the ones in the solar system and used the chance to accumulate a bit more energy. He didn’t have to find a chance to do that often, after all.
The skill of Energy Absorption leveled up.
The skill Energy Absorption leveled up.
The skill Energy Absorption leveled up.
...
The skill was improving, so Rain was able to absorb and covert more energy. Eventually, he would be able to teleport around without having to worry about the cost... but that will take a while.
Although Rain wanted to speed up that process, he decided to keep moving as much as possible since the others were waiting patiently for the beginning of the mission. Thanks to that, it didn’t take long for them to reach the enemy’s territory, but they needed to keep going for a while longer before they reached their destination.
"Aren’t you going a bit too fast?" Terra asked.
Thanks to Spatial Conduit, Rain established a link where he could talk with everyone inside his pocket dimension without having to activate Telepathy. He thought that they wouldn’t shut up, but they only used that chance now.
"If you guys want more time to prepare mentally for it, It is fine with me," Rain said. "I just don’t want to give the enemy many chances to sense our approach."
"That is fine by us as well, but Sakaki wants to add more details to the map that we have," Seara said. "I don’t know why, though."
"Because it is a hobby to act like an encyclopedia..." Rain explained. "He is the kind of guy who wasted countless hours reading Wikipedia pages."
Since no one was aware of that, Rain decided to slow down on the speed toward the target. Thanks to that, he did some chances to do some experiments with the energy aspect... even on the planets where there was no mana or much thermal energy, Rain was able to obtain it using another type of energy. That was a bit hard to absorb and cover, but he slowly started to get used to it and better as well. That could also be the solution to a lot of his problems...
"While this is convenient... it also shows how many sources of energy Arel can have," Rain thought. "Without Loks, she can only store store so much energy, but she probably found ways to deal with that. Still, considering the potential of her aspect... I can’t imagine the reason why she lost to the dragon god once and was caught off guard again."
Rain knew that the machine gods’ powers were rather difficult to use and their potential could only be shown in some places and situations, but even so.. something didn’t sit well with him.
The aspects of time, energy, and probability held boundless potential, their influence extending across the very fabric of the universe. Machine gods who wielded mastery over these fundamental elements possessed immense power, capable of shaping reality itself. However, with such power came the possibility of wielding it for domination or engaging in conflicts for supremacy... agaisnt each other.
Time, as a dimension that governs the progression of events, offered the ability to manipulate causality and alter the course of history. Energy, the driving force behind all phenomena, could be harnessed to enact profound transformations and sustain vast systems of creation. Probability, the realm of chance and uncertainty, held the key to influencing outcomes and determining the likelihood of various events.
With each machine god controlling one of these aspects, they held the potential to wield incomprehensible power over the universe. Given enough time, their influence could expand exponentially, allowing them to shape reality according to their will or engage in struggles for dominance over one another. Once that happens, the entire universe will be in chaos since its whole balance was walking on a fine line already... even the machine gods should know that, but they wouldn’t stop their endless pursuit of knowledge.
While Rain was thinking about that, he suddenly teleported to another planet, but instead of landing anywhere... he just appeared in the void of space. Rain had checked things ahead with Remote Viewing, so he was certain that he didn’t miss his landing point. So, there was only one explanation for that. ƒrēenovelkiss.com
"An illusion?" Rain furrowed his eyebrows. "I can’t think how void could create the illusion of a planet in the distance, but..."
Rain looked around, and soon he realized that the closest stars ahead were much further away than before. He truly had arrived on the territory of the machine god of void...
