Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix-Chapter 1147: Sealed power
Upon waking up, Rain's eyes shot open as he raised his body. In an instant, he cursed himself for not being more vigilant. The realization hit him, and he understood why Terra and Seara had taken such drastic measures. However, that was a concern for another time.
As he checked his surroundings, he found himself in an unfamiliar place. The cold metal bars surrounded him, and close to him were walls, a ceiling, and a floor made of brick. It was evident that he was confined within a cell. Panic set in as he quickly assessed his situation, wondering how he ended up in this situation.
"What the…" Rain muttered. "This is a bad time for a joke."
Rain's mind raced as he tried to piece together the events leading to his current predicament. The last memories he had were of working in the control room, analyzing information about the enemy's location, and discussing plans with the others. The abrupt shift from that to finding himself in a cell was disorienting.
Things soon got even more confusing when something appeared in Rain's left upper corner of his vision.

"No, no, no… don't even joke about it," Rain said while looking around. "No way in hell!"
Rain immediately approached and kicked the metal bar with all his might, but he soon regretted it, thanks to the pain in his leg. When he checked his body, he confirmed that his clothes were the same, but the ominous sword was nowhere to be seen… Terra and Seara wouldn't have disarmed him.
Before long, Rain took a deep breath to think about what could have happened… he couldn't have slept for four hours straight and missed when they entered the enemy's territory. Those two would have woken him up… While Rain was thinking about that, he suddenly heard the sound of static in his ears. It increased a bit and made him feel very annoyed.
"What the fuck is going on?" Rain thought and then tried to use his magic. "I can't use my magic, but… I can feel my mana inside me."
All of a sudden, Rain tried to expand his domain. He mastered it that he could do it with a single thought, but this time, he had to focus for quite a while until he could create a sphere that could cover his entire body. At the same time, he felt something on his back.
"It was about damn time," Elisabetha said, and Rain felt the ominous sword on his back.
"You were still there?" Rain furrowed his eyebrows. "I can feel my power back, but… it looks like a mess."

"It seems that our powers are being sealed by this weird space," Elisabetha said. "We can use it inside your domain, but it will be limited. You can't expand it without risking being found."
"Tell me what happened," Rain asked.
"I don't know… as far as I can remember, we still had half an hour before entering enemy territory," Elisabetha explained. "Then we all felt our consciousness vanishing. I found myself asleep again until you woke up, but you couldn't hear me."
"So, you were that static that I was hearing?" Rain asked. "We weren't separated because you were with me? Maybe you were treated like an object or something, like my clothes."
"I don't know about that, but I am pretty sure that they would have tried to disarm you, whatever planned all this," Elisabetha said.
She had a point… in any case, Rain's mana was full again, so he decided to use it inside his domain with Magic Sacrifice. It worked. Endurance Sacrifice also worked.
The Skill Limit Breaker leveled up. + 05 Strength.
The Skill Magic Boost leveled up. + 05 Intelligence.
"I should be able to destroy the metal bars and look for the others," Rain said and then approached them and found other cells on the sides, but they seemed to be empty. "Still, I can't sense anything… were we separated as well… if they could have put all of us to sleep, they could have killed us as well."
Rain's frustration increased beneath the surface as he observed the seemingly empty cells around him. The fact that they were treated as prisoners and separated fueled his anger. It felt like a joke, a blatant display of the enemy's superiority, and that realization made his blood boil. The audacity of the unknown adversary to toy with them fueled Rain's frustration.
However, Rain knew better than to let his anger dictate his actions. There was a time for rage, but now, in this mysterious confinement, it was a time for caution and strategic thinking. He took a deep breath, letting the anger subside, and focused on the immediate challenge at hand.
As he considered about his current options, Rain thought of trying to level up the new parameters displayed in his status. It seemed like a potential solution to break free without alerting the enemy. Yet, to his dismay, he discovered that the system provided no means to level up those parameters. It was a frustrating realization, but Rain knew he needed to adapt to the situation.
He wasn't ready to give up just yet...
