In This Rebirth, The Male Lead Is Mine [BL]-Chapter 183: Only Son
Over the next few days, Rise became busy securing his information network; he still needed this more than ever. His visit to the Dark Crimson Guild’s yellow zone only took a day.
After subduing Dino’s gang, just as he had done, using the same tactics but faster, without playing anymore. He did not want to stay longer in the city, or he would be able to stop himself from visiting the headquarters.
Don’t worry, Rise. All of his sacrifices will be paid off later.
He was more ruthless in his instructions, though; they had to recruit everyone in the list he provided. If they could not, they silenced them as much as possible.
This was a war. Rise would not let Epsilon’s henchmen run free and grow easily. He also realized that it was a blessing disguised. This reset happened when he had been back for only about two months.
Seriously, it felt like years!
As a result, most of his progress from last time, besides with Kamille was more or less accomplished already in only a few days. This did not include the Zeno’s side, which had to wait for the annual guild convention.
Looking below him and the ruins, Rise sipped on his glass of wine, mind preoccupied by his plans. Last time, his plans revolved around Kamille and the Dark Crimson Guild, but that was out of the question now.
He was talking about being in the guild, and Kamille was always included, no matter what. It was only that Rise had to stay in the Union this time. His hand played with the glass, expression solemn.
The book’s reminder flashed through his mind for a moment, which made his pupils darken. After asking about his plans and Rise answered in a concise manner, no, just one word. The book seemed not surprised, if it even had any emotion.
[The moment you created chaos and the plot was ruined beyond recognition, the world will have to act.]
The book continued, [His descent will be earlier, and things will progress faster. Be aware of this consequence.]
What did he answer to the book again? Ah, Rise did not even do. He only smiled, the sweetest smile he could muster.
Nervousness did not even linger, but his eyes were filled with malicious anticipation; it was like... the monster was finally about to glimpse his prey, someone he had waited for so long.
Of course, he was not the least bit anxious. And this news of early arrival and plot accelerating to happen as a world contingency, was very much welcome.
The aircraft landed at the top of the tallest building in the most populous and important Green Zones of the Federation, the Union Headquarters Main Building.
The door opened, and a few minutes later, a relaxed figure appeared descending the ladder; his appearance was enough for others to hold their breath. Both on how beautiful he was, but more so, with who he was.
No one in the capital who did not know the name Rise Lee. But on the Union, this was more pronounced. Especially to these people who had the opportunity to interact with the higher-ups.
His silver hair seemed to glisten at the contact of the moonlight, giving him an even more ethereal feeling if he already did not.
The wind swept, and he brushed his hair. Looking up, Rise’s eyes glanced at the huge screen that could be seen from this rooftop.
"It’s faster?" Rise’s brow knitted, watching the news, which was only a replay. As he was running around, he could not pay attention to the news, and he expected things to turn out as they originally were when he did not participate.
How come, this raid was even faster when he participated? Rise could not understand, but remembering that maybe the consequence of his running around frantically behind the scenes was now having a subtle effect on the overall plot.
He watched for a while, mainly for Kamille, and looked at him with a clenched fist. He blinked, and the longing disappeared. Rise finally turned around and glanced at the staff.
Specifically, one of the main assistants of the General of the Union. The person immediately bowed, expression calm, and unlike others who openly showed their fear upon facing him.
The professionals were indeed different.
"The General is already waiting."
Rise nodded and walked ahead of him, who was immediately followed by the assistant and other staff.
His walking speed was leisurely, with no hint of nervousness about this meeting. Perhaps, in the whole Federation, he was the only one who could be nonchalant about this.
Who was the General of the Union? Not only was he one of the most important political figures of today’s humanity, but his personal prowess also could not be underestimated. He was a bona fide S-rank esper, someone who singlehandedly subdued a Baron noble and was on equal footing with a Count at his peak.
Even the current president of the Federation had to treat him with respect. Although he was semi-retired now, no one dared underestimate him and actually saw him as the leader of humanity more than the Federation president.
In a world where abilities reign supreme more than political attainment to survive, everyone would obviously lean towards a more powerful leader. Although he preferred to be the one managing affiliated espers and guides instead of managing the whole government.
This was the reason when he met Kamille before, Rise was actually so nervous. Since, yes, he was confident with Kamille’s ability, but his old man was no joke either! Honestly, he thought Kamille would be beaten up.
The Main Building was sandwiched between two other towers, where most affiliated Espers and Guides were located. Only the higher-ups could live in the main building, and no one could casually get inside without an appointment.
He strolled unimpeded, and when they saw his face, subtly gave way. No one here did not know of him. Of course, the old man would definitely have had his face spread for everyone to memorize by now.
It had been years, as well. Though they rarely interacted with him, already met him once or twice.
The only son of the Union General, Rise Lee.
