In a Reincarnation Loop: Surviving as the Most Overpowered-Chapter 70: The War Goddess: A Step into the Past
In Rael’s past life, after losing Sera he lost everything, he even lost his will to live.
The only thing that kept him alive was one thing, only a single thing.
REVENGE!!!
Revenge was the only thing that was motivating him, and he couldn’t stop until he destroyed the ones who took away everything from him.
In just a year after losing Sera, Rael took over the whole world, he destroyed all the kingdoms and empires and slaughtered millions of people.
And, during the war, he gained the power of a God.
He could control the weather, the oceans, and the elements.
He could destroy entire continents, and kill everyone.
But, even with such a great power, he wasn’t satisfied.
In fact, it made him sadder and angrier.
Because, if he had this kind of power before, he could have saved Sera and protected her.
So, he couldn’t accept his fate, and he hated himself.
’If I had such power, I would have killed all of them, and protected her,’
Rael was sitting in a swinging chair in the house where he and Sera once lived.
The house gave off a gloomy vibe, with everywhere being nothing but darkness.
It had been 10 years since he last sat in the living room, and yet, the air was still the same.
There was a small breeze that was coming in through the windows, and it was slightly cool.
The light was flickering, and the curtains were swaying gently.
It was night, and the moon was shining brightly in the sky.
It was a beautiful sight, and it was quite peaceful.
But, despite the beautiful scenery, Rael couldn’t help but feel angry and bitter.
’I was so weak, so pathetic, so powerless,’
’If I had been strong, if I had been powerful, then, she wouldn’t have died, and I wouldn’t be alone,’
’If I had had this power before, I could have saved her,’
He was feeling a lot of regret, and his heart was full of sadness.
He was so depressed and hurt, and his whole body was aching.
He was the lone king, lone Emperor, and a lone ruler of the whole world.
He was the strongest being, and no one could ever challenge him.
He was invincible, and no one could even touch him.
But, still, his heart was bleeding, and his soul was shattered.
"S-Sera,"
Just as those words were spoken, a single tear fell from his eye, and it dripped onto his shirt.
The drop was tiny, but, it felt like it weighed a ton.
"I-I miss you,"
Just then, a small knock was heard on the house’s gate.
It was quiet and soft, but, Rael could still hear it.
"Is anyone there?"
The voice was unfamiliar, and the tone was a bit strange.
Rael had just come back after ten years, and no one was supposed to disturb him.
Or it is proper to say, that no one would dare to disturb him.
So, his curiosity was aroused, and he snapped his fingers, which made the iron gate of the house to open.
Then, he snapped his fingers again, and the door of the house opened as well.
Rael kept sitting on the rocking chair, as he waited for the mysterious person to enter the house.
He was curious, and he wanted to know, who would dare to disturb him in his time of mourning.
After waiting for some moments, the sound of footsteps entered his ears, and he could feel someone approaching him.
"Excuse me, I’m sorry for intruding," a female voice apologized, and Rael’s eyes widened.
His blue eyes were wide, and he couldn’t believe his ears.
It was the voice of a girl, and it...
It sounded so young.
"Who are you? And what are you doing here? " Rael’s tone was as cold as ice, and he couldn’t hide his anger.
"Ah," the voice was startled, and slowly, the girl stepped into the light and revealed herself.
She had long black hair, and her skin was slightly brown.
She was wearing a black robe, and her black eyes were gazing at Rael.
She was a beautiful girl, and her appearance was stunning.
However, it didn’t appease Rael’s anger, and it didn’t make him calm down.
"I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to disturb you, I just wanted to–" she was apologizing, but Rael interrupted her.
"I asked you a question, and I want you to answer it," He demanded, "What are you doing here, and who are you," His words were harsh, and it was evident that he was displeased.
The girl didn’t speak for a moment, and she seemed to be lost in her own thoughts.
Then, after a short pause, she lifted her head, and her gaze locked with Rael’s.
Her eyes were full of sadness, and there was a hint of desperation within her gaze.
"Please, forgive me," She requested, and her voice was full of regret and sorrow, "I am Catherine, and I have come to seek your help,"
"Help,"
Rael was surprised, and his left eyebrow raised in disbelief.
’This girl is seeking my help?’
’And why would she need my help?’
"What do you want from me?" His voice was filled with skepticism, and he was trying hard to understand the situation.
"I heard that the Demon King Rael once lived here, and I wanted to see him," Catherine explained, and her voice was getting louder as she continued to speak.
"I’ve been looking for him everywhere, and I was hoping you could tell me where he is," She inquired, and her gaze was still fixed on Rael, whose face was still in the shadows.
"Oh, and why should I do that?" He questioned, "Even if I know where he is I don’t want to tell you," He stated, and his gaze was filled with annoyance.
"Please, you have to help me," she pleaded, "Please, I need him, and I need his help," She cried out, falling onto her knees.
"What could a little girl like you possibly want from the Demon King?"
"Aren’t you scared of him?" Rael was curious, and he was trying to figure out the motive behind her visit.
"Of course I am afraid of him," she replied, "But, I have no other choice, and I don’t know who else I could turn to,"
"My father, he is dying, and my village is being attacked by the Demon God’s army," She said, as tears were streaming down her face, and her whole body was shaking.
"I can’t save my father and I can’t protect my village," she wept, and her voice was full of pain and sadness.
"If I don’t do something soon, they will all die, and I will be left all alone," she sniffled, as her body was trembling.
"I beg of you, please, I am begging you, tell me where he is,"
She was crying and her eyes were filled with tears.
"Tell me where the Demon King is,"
"I will do anything, please," She continued to plead, and her hands were covering her face, as her tears were falling onto the floor.
However, her crying didn’t affect Rael, and it didn’t move his heart.
Rael was indifferent towards her, and his expression didn’t change.
’How annoying, she is so annoying,’
"Get out," Rael muttered, his words were like poison, and his voice was cold and ruthless.
"Go, now,"
"W-what," she stuttered, as her eyes widened in disbelief.
"Didn’t you hear me," his tone was stern, and his words were harsh, "Get out before I kill you," he ordered, and blue lightning began to dance around his hand.
’Huh? Lightning?’ Catherine gasped, and her eyes were gazing at the blue energy surrounding Rael’s hand.
"W-wait, you–" she mumbled, and her face turned pale, "Are you..."
