Chapter 50: Chapter 47: Horror Hospital 15 (Did You Just Curse?)

Josh was still arguing: "Which of your eyes saw me laughing secretly?"

Barrage: [I-I-I! I saw it with both eyes!]

[I saw it too! You took advantage of the Ghost Feather Stone, just admit you laughed secretly!]

[Yeah! I saw it too!]

Josh sneered, "Thank you for the reminder, otherwise, I’d think you’re hanging light bulbs under your brows that only blink but don’t see."

Barrage: [...]

[Don’t stop me today, I’m going to roast him!]

[Today, either she dies, or I perish!]

[You think you’re so good? Weren’t you just chased by monsters to the bottom level?]

[Yeah! I could play the game with my foot better than this, and this is supposed to be a tactician?]

Josh didn’t even lift her eyelids, "Do you want me to shed some tears of sympathy for you? Dumb dogs can only play games with their feet, unlike me, I have hands, and two of them~"

The barrage got so angry it outputted a series of * symbols.

Josh retorted back one by one.

[A newbie, what are you yelling about! Survive three levels and then you can brag!]

Josh raised her hand, and a pair of white silk gloves appeared in her palm: "Yeah, I’m just a newbie, how did I get a Divine-level Weapon then? You guys are so great, you must have had a Divine-level Weapon long ago, right?"

The barrage fell silent for a moment, then was instantly flooded with swear words.

Josh looked at the barrage in surprise: "No way, no way, no way? Is there anyone who hasn’t gotten a Divine-level Weapon after playing for so long? Oh my gosh!"

[Boohoo, I’m going back to tell my mom! Josh, you **!]

[Stop it, stop it, really stop it!]

[Say something! Let me know I’m not the only one being roasted into silence.]

[We can lose the game, but Josh must die! Don’t let me find you in the level!]

Josh rolled her eyes and turned off the barrage.

A bunch of little chickens, still trying to argue with their granddad, ignorant of life and death.

Yushi tilted his head, glancing at the little guy in his arms: "Did you curse?"

Josh yawned, "No."

Yushi thought for a moment, then seriously said: "Just now, I saw you arguing with the barrage, the guild doesn’t allow arguing."

Josh didn’t lift her head: "I was educating my internet children, doesn’t count as arguing."

Yushi’s face briefly showed confusion: "Then what does it count as?"

Josh smiled, "Consider it resolving internal family disputes."

Yushi nodded knowingly, "So that’s how it is."

Seeing Yushi put on an expression of ’sudden realization’, the barrage completely collapsed.

[Josh, I was wrong, stay away from my Little Ghost, don’t corrupt him!]

[Yushi, don’t listen to her nonsense! Aaaah, what do I do, I feel like my pure, adorable little Yushi is going to be corrupted!]

[Little Ghost, stay away from Josh! Stay away from Josh! Stay away from Josh! I’m not joking!]

[Josh! If you dare to corrupt our Little Ghost, I’ll kill you!]

In the guild hall.

Ma Qi shivered as he lit a cigarette, puffing clouds in the surveillance room.

The partner next to him sighed softly and patted his shoulder: "Before you recruited her, didn’t you watch all her videos?"

Ma Qi blew out a smoke ring, his face full of confusion and regret: "How was I to know, that such a cute kid would be just like Yuze."

The partner comfortingly patted his shoulder, "My condolences."

In the level.

Josh and Yushi waited for quite a while at the elevator entrance, before finally seeing a cat nurse heading down to the third basement level.

The two followed the nurse into the elevator and descended to the third floor.

After exiting, Josh emerged from his clothes.

Yushi said, "The captain asked us to find him, but we don’t know his location."

Josh took out three buttons, tossed them on the ground, then picked them back up: "Let’s go."

Yushi’s already not-so-bright mind became even more bewildered, following Josh in another direction.

The two quickly found Yuze.

Yuze was locked in a greenhouse chamber at the far edge, with several bruises on his body.

Josh frowned, "Did they hit you?"

Yuze nonchalantly raised his eyebrows, "No, I got them when I hit the hatch door."

Josh nodded, asked, "How is it? What’s the situation?"

A hint of a smile flashed in Yuze’s eyes, "Just as you guessed, the greenhouse chamber is the hospital’s dirty little secret. They seem to be using the greenhouse chamber for experiments."

A look of realization crossed Josh’s eyes.

So it really is.

Previously, when she was gathering intel with the cat nurses, they bragged that no illness in this hospital was incurable.

The hospital’s promotional brochure also bragged about how great it was, and even attached a list of cured patients at the end.

Strangely, patients came in as normal people, but left as mutated human-cat hybrids.

It was odd at the time.

After discussing with Yuze, they speculated that the issue lay in the greenhouse chamber.

Because the whole hospital, the greenhouse chamber was the only place they hadn’t accessed.

That’s why she discussed with Yuze, suggesting he pretend not to resist and let the nurses push him to the greenhouse chamber.

Josh questioned, "Wouldn’t staying in the greenhouse chamber uncover more secrets? Why did you smash it?"

Yuze’s face darkened, "I don’t want to turn into a cat."

He pointed to the light pillars around the greenhouse chamber, "There are small holes in these light pillars, and every two hours, gas is emitted from these holes. The longer you stay in the greenhouse chamber, the greater the chance of mutation."

So that’s how it is.

Josh glanced around the surrounding greenhouse chambers.

She extended her hand, gazing quietly at her palm.

The white translucent gloves made her fingers appear even more white and flawless, slender and beautiful in shape.

Two strands of spider silk drifted back from who knows where.

They burrowed into her palm.

Yuze raised an eyebrow, "Your weapon skill?"

Josh nodded, "I’ve already found out where Rob and Jiang Can are, they should be controlled by the gas you mentioned too."

Yuze, "I can tear this place down, save them."

Josh frowned, "If you do that, the trail ends."

She continued, "I just got to the very bottom, there’s a super experimental subject inside. Before I left, he told me that all the patients here are guinea pigs for experiments."

Yuze raised an eyebrow, "You’re saying..."

Josh nodded, "It can’t be destroyed, if it’s destroyed, the data here will be lost, I think it has a lot to do with the main storyline."

Yuze nodded, "Alright. But, I need to get out, one spy in the greenhouse chamber is enough."

Josh agreed with this, "You guys stay put, I’ll go find the main control room and open the door for you guys."
