Immortal in Horror Game: She is the Fortune Teller!-Chapter 226 - 224: Bloody Castle 5
Josh’s eyes lit up slightly: "Thank you, you’re truly a kind person."
The chef smiled.
Josh glanced at the time and strolled to the dining room. There were still 5 minutes until breakfast started, and quite a few people were already seated at the table, chatting with each other.
As she entered, her four teammates were also at the table.
Rob waved at her: "Little Tactician, over here!"
Josh nodded with a smile and walked over.
Just as she sat down, the door to the dining room opened again and another person entered.
Upon seeing that person, the conversations in the dining room instantly ceased.
Josh couldn’t help but frown slightly, sizing up the person.
Last night, everyone present saw her chest pierced by thorny vines, dropping dead on the spot.
But now, she was sitting in the same spot, wearing the same clothes as yesterday, completely unharmed.
Her teammate was the first to exclaim in shock: "Mina?! You’re not dead? Weren’t you yesterday..."
Mina looked at her teammate in puzzlement: "Of course I’m not dead, why would you ask that?"
The teammate looked at her in disbelief: "But weren’t you pierced through the chest by a monster yesterday?!"
Mina looked at him amusedly: "Did you enter the monster’s Illusion Realm? I’m fine!"
Rob leaned in and whispered: "What do you think is going on? How does someone die and come back?"
Jiang Can also leaned over: "I think it’s a monster in disguise."
Yushi nodded solemnly: "I agree."
Yuze frowned: "This is easy to expose, just send a message in the system group."
Josh’s eyes flickered, but she said nothing.
Yuze didn’t deliberately lower his voice, so the person across also heard and hurried to send a message in the group chat.
Mina also replied on the spot and then looked at them helplessly: "Now do you believe? I’m Mina!"
The teammates looked at each other: "Then who died yesterday? We clearly logged into the game together, no one left anyone!"
No one was given a chance to respond.
Thomas pushed open the dining room door, and the maids filed in, serving breakfast.
In front of everyone else were crimson, viscous red soups and moldy toast.
No one protested this time.
In front of Josh was a thick, fresh cream of mushroom soup, made from materials she redeemed from Pinduoduo.
To her surprise, the chef also gave her a normal piece of toast.
She raised an eyebrow and lowered her head to eat.
Someone noticed the different food on Josh’s plate and exclaimed: "Why does she get fresh food, and we have to eat this stuff?!"
It was the same teammate from Mina’s group, a short-haired, sharp-featured boy.
The maid standing by the hourglass looked at him expressionlessly: "The food is prepared by the chef, please eat normally."
The boy pushed his plate away: "I want the same breakfast as hers!"
The maid glanced at the untouched breakfast on his plate and said with a bit of displeasure: "Please finish your own breakfast, do not waste it."
Josh coughed, the scratchy pain in her throat making her frown.
Yuze looked at her: "What’s wrong?"
Josh shook her head.
Suddenly, a plate was placed in front of her, the crimson soup exuding a foul stench.
Josh was startled, already dizzy and almost vomited.
The boy walked up to her, justifying himself: "I want to exchange with you, you eat this plate."
He raised his hand to take the plate in front of Josh.
The maid beside them did not seem inclined to stop him, making the boy even more assertive.
Josh slightly curled her lips, but there was no smile in her eyes: "What if I don’t want to?"
The boy finally looked clearly at her face, her small, palm-sized face with childlike bright, dark eyes, her overly pale complexion making the blush on her cheeks particularly conspicuous.
The boy’s imposing manner weakened a bit: "Why can you eat this while we can’t? What’s going on? Explain, and no one will bother you."
Josh ate her breakfast slowly and said: "If you’re not satisfied, you can also talk to the chef to change it."
The others heard this, surprise flickering in their eyes. They could do that?!
They’d try at lunch!
A glimmer of joy crossed the boy’s eyes: "Can I just talk directly to the chef?"
Josh picked up the last piece of toast from her plate, dipped it in some thick soup, and nodded: "Yes, and not only that, but I also have a little tip that can make sure no one eats this stuff again..."
She spoke slowly, making the surrounding people perk up their ears and glance over.
Josh smiled and stuffed the last piece of bread into her mouth, using a spoon to drink the soup.
The boy was a bit anxious: "What is it? Hurry and tell us!"
Josh finished the soup and reclaimed the boy’s breakfast to her front: "Do you want to know?"
The boy nodded.
Josh smiled: "I’ll tell you next time."
The hourglass on the table was emptied during her stalling.
She smiled mischievously at the boy: "What do you do now? You haven’t finished your food."
The boy snapped back to reality and instinctively looked at the hourglass not far away.
Sure enough, it had run out, and not only was the hourglass empty, but the food on everyone else’s plates was finished, too.
Even Mina’s plate was clean.
The boy’s face turned pale: "I’ll... I’ll eat it now!"
Josh moved his plate aside to prevent him from touching it and raised her voice to the maid: "Someone here hasn’t finished their breakfast, and it’s untouched."
Upon hearing this, the boy looked angrily at her: "Did you do it on purpose?! Purposely speaking slowly, dragging things out to catch my attention!"
Josh, her face pale, coughed lightly: "No, I didn’t..."
The boy wanted to make a move towards her, but the thorns erupted from the ground, piercing his heart instantly.
Mina screamed: "Solong!"
The blood from the boy’s body was drained rapidly, making the thorns grow stronger, before quickly retreating underground.
Josh coughed a few times, feeling the air she exhaled was getting hotter and burning her throat. She frowned slightly and redeemed a fever-reducing medicine from Pinduoduo, dissolved it in water, and drank it.
After meals, it was time for everyone’s free activities.
The butler appeared in the dining room, looking at everyone at the table: "Today is everyone’s first official day staying in the castle. You can wander around, but remember, do not go near the attic."
Everyone nodded.
Yuze looked at her: "Together?"
Josh shook her head: "Let’s split up. Everyone explores their own way."
Yuze said nothing, nodding: "Then be careful, let us know in the group chat if there’s any trouble."
Josh agreed, and then everyone parted ways.
She didn’t plan to push the limits and go to the attic on the first day but wandered around the Ancient Castle instead.
She wasn’t sure if it was her imagination, but she kept feeling like there was a gaze watching her from some corner.
Josh frowned slightly and lifted her skirt to head upstairs.
The dizziness and blurred vision were becoming more pronounced.
Her instincts were correct; there was indeed something wrong with this castle, something was slowly draining her spiritual power.
But the others didn’t seem to be affected at all.
Surely she wasn’t being targeted by some strange hidden boss again?
