Immortal in Horror Game: She is the Fortune Teller!-Chapter 219 - 217: The Two Major Guilds Tug-of-War
Josh had just gotten out of bed when he heard the noise downstairs.
"Who is it, making such a big commotion?"
"Wow! This is the first time I’ve seen him come to our base! What’s going on?"
"Who knows!"
"Little Tactician, wake up, someone’s here to see you!" A loud voice from Rob came from downstairs. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
Josh could clearly hear Rob’s voice even while lying on the bed.
Now she knew why Yuze always had Rob handle these loud announcements.
Even better than a loudspeaker.
Josh yawned, got out of bed, washed up, and casually changed into some casual clothes.
These clothes were all provided by Yuze.
She went downstairs in a loose beige sweatshirt and pants.
Yuze was already up, ordering food by the dining table.
"Good morning, Captain," Josh yawned and naturally sat down beside him, "Auntie, I’ll have some toast and strawberry milk with nut butter, please."
"Alrighty," the cooking auntie said, skillfully preparing their breakfast.
Yuze chuckled but said nothing.
Rob winked at her, "Little Tactician! Look over there!"
"Cough, cough... Josh, come here!" Ma Qi said with a bit of embarrassment, waving her over.
This kid, so oblivious.
When she came downstairs, Coach Webb was standing up to greet her.
But she only had eyes for Yuze, skipping right past Webb to say hello to Yuze...
Webb’s face darkened.
Josh heard the sound and finally looked in Ma Qi’s direction, noticing the unfamiliar faces.
Webb forced a smile at her.
Josh walked over.
Ma Qi, proud as if introducing his own child, said, "This is our guild’s new Little Tactician, Josh."
He then turned to Josh and introduced, "This is Webb, the chief coach of the Angel’s Wings guild. You can call him Uncle Webb."
Josh nodded agreeably, "Hello, Uncle Webb."
"Hello," Webb said, nodding slightly.
This young girl, ignoring him as soon as she came downstairs, left him embarrassed in front of all these people—a really unlikable child!
Ma Qi then pointed to the person next to Webb and introduced, "This is Uncle Jeremy, the operations manager of Angel’s Wings and Webb’s partner."
Josh nodded again in greeting, "Hello, Uncle Jeremy."
Jeremy smiled and nodded back, looking much friendlier than Webb.
Perhaps people in operations and diplomacy were just like this, naturally approachable with good communication skills.
Webb looked at Ma Qi and got straight to the point, "We’re here on orders from Marquis Grant regarding Josh opening a betting pool during the dungeon incident last time."
Ma Qi smiled slightly, "The kid is young and at a playful age."
Webb replied, "But her playful actions greatly tarnished Marquis Grant’s reputation."
Josh blinked, "Why was his reputation greatly tarnished? Did he place a bet in my live stream and not win?"
Webb was momentarily choked, "That’s not the point."
Jeremy added from the side, "Marquis Grant is very busy and doesn’t usually participate in such petty activities."
Webb nodded in agreement.
Josh shrugged, "Then I don’t understand what you’re talking about."
Webb explained, "The thing is, Marquis Grant’s primary heir is the leader of Xue Guo, whom you’ve faced multiple times—the captain of Angel’s Wings’ first team."
Seeing Josh’s confusion, Jeremy explained further, "Your tie has disgraced Xue Guo, and Marquis Grant’s reputation was affected as well."
Josh asked sincerely, "But we didn’t let him lose. How could he be disgraced? You coaches can see, right? We could have beaten him to nothing, but we settled for a tie."
Webb: "You..."
"Cough, cough..." Ma Qi held back laughter with difficulty before Webb could explode, interrupting him, "Sorry, Coach Webb, she’s just a child, and you can’t take a kid’s words too seriously, can you?"
"Child" and "innocent words" left Webb choked speechless.
Jeremy smiled, "We certainly don’t mind, but we’re here representing Duke Grant today. While the duke might not pursue a child’s attitude, it’s hard to say about the Mysterious Guild’s attitude..."
Josh looked at them, "So what are you trying to do this time? Do you want us to go easy on Xue Guo the next time we meet?"
In the world of spiritual power users, who respected strength, this was an absolute humiliation.
Nobody would want to be openly told to let the water flow.
Jeremy’s smile faded a bit, and he looked steadily at Josh, "We just need you to post an apology statement on the Planet Surfing website using your official account, and express gratitude for Xue Guo’s leniency and understanding. That’s all."
Josh tilted her head, "What if I don’t?"
Webb coldly responded, "We came here with an attitude of sincerity. If you insist on breaking the alliance, it’s hard to see the friendship between the two guilds continuing."
"Ha... What? That loser only knows how to go home and call for backup after getting hit, thinking it’s because our kid doesn’t have backup to call?"
A lazy voice sounded from the side, slow yet inexplicably oppressive, making the surrounding air pressure drop a notch.
Hearing such blatant insults, Webb showed a hint of anger, "You!"
But seeing who it was, his face instantly deflated, even showing a bit of a flattering smile, "Young Master Yu, you know that’s not what I meant..."
Yuze approached and handed the warm strawberry milk to Josh, "Drink up."
"Okay," Josh said, taking a sip of the milk, a little milk mustache forming under her nose, as Yuze shielded her behind him.
With his nearly 1.9-meter height and strong, lean build, Yuze could easily hide Josh behind him with a single step.
Yuze looked coldly at Webb and Jeremy, a smile on his face, but with daggers hidden in his gaze, "What do you mean? Coming here at this hour to accuse our kid of bullying your Xue Guo captain? Forcing our kid to post a humiliating apology and suck up to him?"
Webb’s face didn’t look good, adopting a somewhat flattering tone, "It’s just a suggestion, we’re here to discuss how to handle it."
He misjudged, not expecting Yuze to defend this newcomer so staunchly.
He thought Josh, being new to the Golden Shit Stirrer, wouldn’t have the Mysterious Guild backing her over this small dispute.
"Suggestion?" Yuze chuckled, "Coach Webb, before making suggestions, run them through your mind first."
He stepped forward, his towering height casting a shadow over Webb, his voice slow yet pressingly assertive, "What is Xue Guo? How dare you suggest our kid post an official apology and suck up to him? Does he deserve it?"
Despite his light tone in those last words, sweat began to appear on Webb’s forehead.
