Immortal in Horror Game: She is the Fortune Teller!-Chapter 131 - 128: Forbidden Nightmare 35 (Visiting Old Mrs. Cao)
The Mermaid King rested inside the idol, quietly staring down at the sleeping Josh.
He entered this scenario too early, so early that he was assimilated by the dimensional rules.
He only found out later that only when the resentment in the scenario reached a certain level could it be deemed a scenario and generated in the game.
Only then could Josh possibly enter this scenario.
The divine being led him here, intentionally having him arrive years early, trapped here, as if it was a mistake.
In the endless wait, his resentment towards Josh might grow, just like Code 7’s did.
He didn’t know if the divine being made a mistake; he only knew that to escape from the scenario, he must be awakened, activate his identity, and use a logic accepted by the dimensional rules to leave the scenario.
And Josh might be the one who could awaken him.
Actually, he didn’t know how to awaken himself either.
The only thing he knew was that Josh couldn’t recognize him. Once Josh recognized him in the scenario world, he would immediately be detected and erased by the dimensional rules.
That’s why he entered Josh’s Spiritual Sea several times, planting hints while preventing her from remembering him.

The next day.
Josh and Yuze went to Old Mrs. Cao’s house early in the morning.
Old Mrs. Cao had just gotten up, intending to start making lanterns.
Seeing Josh entering, her face darkened, and she raised her hand to close the door.
Josh quickly used her foot to stop the door from closing: "Good morning, Grandma."
Unable to resist, Old Mrs. Cao darkened her face and let the two in.
Yuze calmly observed the surroundings, smelled the strong scent of musk, and instinctively furrowed his brows: "What a strong smell."
"I’ll open the window, it won’t be strong once it airs out." Old Mrs. Cao patted his arm kindly, moving slowly to open the window.
Josh: "..." The last time she came, Old Mrs. Cao wasn’t this amicable.
She squinted at Yuze: "What? Is she your relative?"
Yuze smiled slightly: "Sorry, 100% favorability level, maxed out."
Josh: "You actually advanced behind my back?! When did this happen?"
Yuze’s smile grew even warmer: "Right after you beat her black and blue last time."
Josh’s face darkened.
So she was playing bad cop, while Yuze turned around and played good cop?
Josh’s mouth twitched: "You’re something else."
Yuze tilted his head slightly: "The Little Tactician taught well."
Old Mrs. Cao, after opening the window, went to get food and drinks for Yuze.
Josh couldn’t stand it: "No need to fuss over us, we’re not here for entertainment."
Old Mrs. Cao glanced at her sideways: "It’s not for you to eat anyway."
Josh: "..."
Alright, can’t argue with that.
She signaled to Yuze.
Yuze, eyes full of amusement, went to help Old Mrs. Cao, asking with a smile, "Grandma, do you know the Forbidden Nightmare?"
Old Mrs. Cao’s face stiffened, and the things in her hands clattered to the ground: "Wha... what’s the Forbidden Nightmare? I don’t know."
Josh’s mouth twitched: "Just say it, you might as well have ’I know but won’t tell’ engraved on your forehead. At your age, still fooling youngsters? Aren’t you ashamed? If you can’t lie, don’t force it; it just creates awkwardness."
"Pfft!" Old Mrs. Cao glared at her sharply with cat-like eyes, "I’ll take it to my grave and not tell you!"
Yuze chimed in: "Grandma, we won’t mind her, people like her aren’t liked."
Old Mrs. Cao turned to Yuze, instantly smiling: "Yes!"
Josh: "..."
Yuze helped Old Mrs. Cao to sit down, gently saying, "Grandma, don’t worry, we’re just asking. We heard the other night, the Holy Daughter was harmed by the Forbidden Nightmare and hasn’t woken up. We’re just curious and wanted to ask you."
"Who said that! Who said it was the Forbidden Nightmare? Who saw it? That’s nonsense! Who would believe such outrageous claims?" Old Mrs. Cao snorted coldly.
"Believe it!" Josh seized the chance to retort: "Your good young man here believes."
Upon hearing this, Old Mrs. Cao first glared at her before turning to Yuze: "Good boy, don’t believe such rumors, they’re just talking nonsense!"
"Why isn’t it believable, Grandma?" Yuze played the good cop smoothly.
Josh rolled her eyes and cut in: "What does she know? Just because she’s old, she’s talking nonsense. Some people always think that old people know more, but there are so many old fools in the world, clueless about anything!"
"Who are you calling an old fool? You’re the old fool! You’re the dimwit scoundrel!" Old Mrs. Cao jumped up, ready to hit her.
Josh was not one to back down, rolling up her sleeves and showing her fists: "Who’s scared of you! You claim to know nothing, what’s your act about? You know nothing!"
"I do know! Of course I know!" Old Mrs. Cao panted in anger.
Yuze quickly tried to calm her, patting her back: "Don’t get angry, I know Grandma knows everything. Grandma just doesn’t like to talk, but she’s well aware in her heart."
He shot a reproachful glance at Josh, eyes seemingly saying, "Why argue with an elder?" clearly not believing she actually knew.
Old Mrs. Cao got anxious, pulling Yuze aside, lowering her voice: "Of course I know, everyone in the village knows. The Forbidden Nightmare is sealed under the tower on the mountain, can’t even come out. But if the Forbidden Nightmare wants to curse someone, they need hair, saliva, or the veil worn by their target. How can she get those when sealed? Without them, she can’t harm people out of thin air!"
Josh suddenly understood, so that’s how it is.
But with such logic, the Priest’s statement from last night would have to be overturned.
Josh frowned slightly, pondering, and asked, "What if someone from the village helped acquire these items and brought them to the tower, would that work?"
Old Mrs. Cao snorted coldly, giving Josh a contemptuous look: "Mindless little fool."
Josh: "..." Endure.
Yuze stifled a laugh and chimed in: "Yes, Grandma, if someone in the village helped, then she could harm people?"
Old Mrs. Cao patted Yuze’s hand, patiently explaining: "But the mountaintop is off-limits. The Forbidden Nightmare doesn’t like village people. Anyone approaching the tower would be blown away unless led by a Priest."
Josh squinted her eyes. If access to the mountain is possible with a Priest’s guidance, all suspicion points again to the Priest.
Seeing she had asked enough, she signaled to Yuze, and the two quickly bade farewell to Old Mrs. Cao, leaving the rundown straw hut.
Josh remarked sarcastically at Yuze: "Such a good treasure of Grandma’s."
Yuze shrugged: "What can I do, I’m just so lovable."
Josh looked at him strangely: "I didn’t see you gaining favor that way."
Yuze chuckled: "I don’t have to memorize Holy Daughter teachings every morning nor attend trial tasks every afternoon, nor serve the Sea God at the shrine every night."
Josh felt a bit down, being cast as the Holy Daughter was really inconvenient.
She realized her roles in both scenarios weren’t convenient for movement.
What bad luck.
