Immortal in Horror Game: She is the Fortune Teller!-Chapter 127 - 124: Forbidden Nightmare 31 (Three-Sided Struggle)
The people from the Mysterious Guild really have quite the airs.
The discontent in everyone’s hearts was becoming increasingly obvious.
Among those present, only Yuze had the highest level of strength and the fiercest combat power.
Instead of charging forward to slay the monsters, he timidly hid at the back?
They remembered that Yu’s style wasn’t like this in the past.
If it were before, he would have already been wielding those two curved blades, slaughtering everything in sight.
Was it intentional?
Did he just want to watch these lower-level players get chased around in a sorry state, then have no choice but to ask him for help?
And that Josh, clearly a tactician, was utterly useless, just idling around with such a strong operative.
Lulu couldn’t help but complain while dodging: "Captain, look at that team. The so-called top-ranked team, such big ego, everyone is under siege, and not only do they not step in, but they’re also just strolling around. Are they waiting for us to beg them to step in or something?"
"Not necessarily." The captain, Million, coolly swept his gaze in Josh’s direction.
After the official announcement of Josh as the new tactician by the Mysterious Guild, she had reviewed two of her dungeon videos.
Based on her analysis, Josh wasn’t the type to idle around.
In the previous battles, she had exhibited similar "idling" behavior, and if her guess was correct, this might very well be Josh’s charge-up state before using a weapon.
Her skills might require chanting or similar preparatory time.
Million nonchalantly observed Josh and Yuze. As members of the Golden Shit Stirrer, their abilities must be more than meets the eye.
Lulu continued to grumble: "What kind of bullshit Golden Shit Stirrer is this? They actually think they’re superstars..."
"Lulu!" Million lowly reprimanded: "Shut up, we’re still live broadcasting."
Lulu unabashedly retorted: "So what if it’s live? They act all high and mighty and we can’t talk about it?"
Million coldly glanced at her, prompting Lulu to begrudgingly fall silent.
Turning his head, Million looked in Josh’s direction: "Don’t underestimate her. I have a feeling she’ll be a formidable adversary for us."
Lulu huffed disapprovingly: "Her? I see her as just a money-grubbing opportunist. She sold us a single talisman for several thousand points."
A Sacrificial Girl lunged at them, and Lulu quickly raised her gun to shoot.
The shot to the head only momentarily brought the Sacrificial Girl to the ground, but she would slowly rise again. These beings seemed like lifeless puppets, even when temporarily brought down, they swiftly regained their stance to attack.
Million was also entangled by several Sacrificial Girls, unable to break free.
Josh glanced at Yuze, and the two exchanged a look.
Following Josh’s prior instructions, Yuze thrust the talisman paper into the ground.
On the other side, Josh ascended into the air using Spider Silk, her ten fingers joining together to form a complete spider web.
The Priest sensed the anomaly, eyes sharply locking onto Josh’s direction, pointing the staff in her direction. Atop the staff was carved a Holy Maiden Wooden Carving Head, which spewed countless talismans at Josh.
Josh muttered an incantation under her breath and countered back.
The Priest staggered back several steps, even spitting a mouthful of blood.
"Priest!" Yue Xi and the others’ expressions changed, swiftly shielding the Priest.
The feminine figures turned their human-shaped lanterns around, collectively targeting Josh’s direction.
An intangible pressure harshly forced Josh back to the ground.
Yuze unleashed a powerful burst of spiritual power, pushing back the lanterns’ pressure.
A deadlock ensued.
Josh’s spider web restricted the Sacrificial Girls’ movements, yet the lanterns wielded by the women emitted strong ghost energy, counterbalancing Yuze.
Now only the Priest and Yue Xi remained against Josh and the other players.
However, whether it was the women’s lanterns or the Sacrificial Girls beneath, the energy and aggression they unleashed were incessant and unending.
Josh and his team, being players, had limited spiritual power. Even if Yuze could hold on for a long time, it would be difficult to win if this continued.
A solution to root out the problem was needed.
On the other side, Yuze clearly didn’t desire a prolonged spiritual power drain.
Two cat ears emerged on his head, and feline markings appeared on his face.
Josh knew this was a sign he was ready to unleash higher-level spiritual power for battle.
If Yuze took action, all clues would be destroyed!
Josh quickly grabbed him: "Don’t act rashly!"
Yuze frowned slightly: "Then what should we do?"
Josh’s gaze settled on the top of the tower: "I have a way to break the formation. Help me withstand the attacks from those women and the Priest."
Yuze nodded.
The two split up to take action.
Yuze brandished his clawed blades, flipping them back over his arm. In an instant, they transformed into curved blades held in reverse grip.
Swiftly, he dashed toward the Priest.
The Priest’s pupils contracted, instinctively lifting the staff to block.
A crisp sound rang out as the staff was sliced in two.
"How is this possible?!" The Priest’s eyes widened in shock.
Even Yue Xi beside him couldn’t help but be astounded: "This was a scepter bestowed by Lord Sea God, passed down for hundreds of years!"
Hearing that it was a gift from that dead fish, Yuze dashed past again, breaking into a few more slashes, chopping the scepter into kindling: "Perfect for starting a fire, no need to thank me."
The Priest stared at Yuze with a mixture of shock and fear: "You! You, you..."
Yuze increased the distance, nonchalantly twirling his curved blades in hand, his showy sleight of hand as fluent as a magic trick, with a lazy yet assured expression gleaming in his eyes: "Next time, it won’t be just your staff."
Everything related to that dead fish, he was determined to trample underfoot!
Josh sounded a warning: "Don’t kill the essential NPC."
Yuze clicked his tongue, somewhat disappointed.
Using the momentum from the Spider Silk, Josh dived down to Lulu’s side, scooping her into her arms and soaring high once more.
"Ah!" Lulu squealed, turning to see Josh beside her, her face quickly souring: "What are you doing?! Put me down!"
Josh didn’t look at her, merely tilted her chin to signal her to look over there: "Do you think you can shoot that stone?"
Lulu followed her gaze, spotting the stone atop the distant tower.
The stone emanated black energy under the moonlight, continuously flowing, infusing into the human-shaped lanterns and the Priest.
Evidently, the source of these creatures’ power was that stone.
Meaning, by taking down that stone, they might turn the tide.
Lulu, without hesitation, drew her gun, a shooting range and prediction result briefly appearing on her cornea.
"It’s out of range. You’ll need to get closer."
Josh frowned slightly, this was already the highest point her Spider Silk could reach, if she had to go higher...
She furrowed her brow: "If I swing you up, can you hit it?"
As much as Lulu wasn’t thrilled about cooperating with her, her captain below was still battling the black ghost energy.
