Immortal God of War-Chapter 687 - 654: Battle for the Summit (4)_1
Qin Feiyang stared at Lu Xingchen, his eyebrows slightly furrowed. What exactly was this guy trying to convey?
He suddenly noticed the smirk on Lu Xingchen’s face and sent a psychic transmission, "Do you have a way to leave the Bitter Sea?"
Lu Xingchen pondered for a moment before nodding. "Indeed, I do have a way."
Qin Feiyang’s eyes lit up.
Lu Xingchen continued, "But I have one condition."
Qin Feiyang raised an eyebrow. "Condition? Without me saving you, you would have already become a Blood Puppet. Don’t you think it’s a bit much to be negotiating terms with me now?"
"That’s a separate matter," Lu Xingchen said. "I will slowly repay your life-saving grace in the future."
Qin Feiyang retorted angrily, "You’re kicking me when I’m down!"
"No." Lu Xingchen shook his head and smiled. "I’m merely discussing it with you; there’s no threat involved. Even if you don’t agree in the end, I will still take you out of the Bitter Sea. However, as for the Wolf King and Fatty... I’m under no obligation to help them."
Upon hearing this, Qin Feiyang was instantly furious. This wasn’t a threat? Even a fool could tell!
Qin Feiyang suppressed his anger and said in a low voice, "Fine. What’s your condition?"
Lu Xingchen said, "After we enter the Imperial Capital, I’ll need you to help me with one thing. As for what it is, I’ll tell you when the time comes."
Qin Feiyang’s brows furrowed tightly. He’s being so vague; how can I agree to this so easily?
Seeing Qin Feiyang’s expression, Lu Xingchen knew what he was worried about and said, "Rest assured, I will never ask you to do anything unconscionable."
Qin Feiyang gritted his teeth and nodded. "Alright. As long as it’s not unconscionable, I can agree."
Lu Xingchen smiled. "Brother Qin, you truly are a straightforward person."
"Boss, you and Lu Xingchen keep exchanging glances. Are you two secretly plotting something shady?" Fatty had been watching them for a while.
"You talk too much!" Qin Feiyang shot him a glare, then looked at Lu Xingchen. "If we delay any longer, Mo Wushen and his group might reach the summit."
"Those three must be eliminated." A sharp light flashed in Lu Xingchen’s eyes. He waved his hand, and a mysterious force suddenly enveloped Qin Feiyang.
In the next moment, Qin Feiyang felt his body lighten, and then he appeared in an unfamiliar place.
He looked around in surprise. This was a completely enclosed secret chamber, roughly a thousand feet across, yet within the vast space, there was nothing.
Qin Feiyang asked, "Is this your spatial divine object?"
"Correct." Lu Xingchen nodded.
Qin Feiyang asked doubtfully, "Then where is the Alligator King?"
Lu Xingchen replied, "It’s outside this secret chamber."
"What?" Qin Feiyang’s eyes quivered as he exclaimed in shock, "You mean to say your spatial divine object has more than just this one space?"
"Yes!" Lu Xingchen laughed. "The space outside is much larger than this."
Qin Feiyang was instantly filled with amazement.
Lu Xingchen shook his head with a smile. "Don’t even think about it; I won’t take you there."
"Why not?" Qin Feiyang asked, puzzled.
"There are some secrets within that space that you cannot know," Lu Xingchen said with a mysterious smile.
"Secrets?" Qin Feiyang was somewhat bewildered. What secrets could there be that I’m not allowed to know?
"Stop pondering. You’ll never figure it out until you see it with your own eyes." Lu Xingchen chuckled and waved his hand. The void before them immediately began to tremble.
Immediately following, under Qin Feiyang’s astonished gaze, an image materialized in the void.
Within the image was the very same turbulent Sea of Blood!
"My spatial divine object can not only observe the situation outside, but I can also control it to soar into the heavens or burrow deep into the earth," Lu Xingchen explained.
"Soar into the heavens or burrow deep into the earth?" Qin Feiyang found it incredible.
"Actually, from what I understand, every spatial divine object can do these two things. What’s strange is, why can’t yours?" Lu Xingchen looked at him, perplexed.
"I don’t know either." Qin Feiyang’s eyes were filled with bewilderment.
Could it be that the ancient castle is of a lower grade than Lu Xingchen’s spatial divine object?
He shook his head, no longer wanting to dwell on such pointless questions, and said, "Let’s go!"
Even if the ancient castle was the lowest grade of spatial divine object, he would cherish it as dearly as his own life, because it was a gift from Uncle Yuan.
Lu Xingchen immediately controlled the spatial divine object, causing it to skim towards the sea’s surface.
Although Qin Feiyang couldn’t sense anything from within the secret chamber, the images in the void clearly showed that the spatial divine object was indeed moving.
About thirty breaths later, the surface of the Bitter Sea appeared in the image before them.
This meant the spatial divine object had now left the depths and was floating on the sea’s surface.
Lu Xingchen waved his hand, and three more images appeared around them.
Thus, the scenery outside—in front, behind, to the left, and to the right—was fully displayed before their eyes.
The stone staircase was visible in one of the images.
Lu Xingchen immediately maneuvered the spatial divine object, skimming towards the stone staircase.
Once they were close to the stone staircase, he grabbed Qin Feiyang. In an instant, they exited the spatial divine object and landed on the first step of the stone staircase.
Lu Xingchen smiled. "Quite easy, wasn’t it!"
"Indeed." Qin Feiyang nodded, then looked up the stone staircase.
Mo Wushen and his companions had already climbed one-third of the way. As for Tan Wu, he was even further, having reached two-thirds of the way up.
Lu Xingchen pointed to the sea ahead and smiled. "Look, Wan Chou and his group have arrived too."
Qin Feiyang looked and, sure enough, saw four small boats on the sea surface about three to four hundred meters away.
Wait! Weren’t there five of them? Why are there only four small boats?
Qin Feiyang looked closely and realized Fenghuo was missing from the five; it seemed he too had perished en route.
For a moment, Qin Feiyang couldn’t help but feel a pang of sadness.
How many countless young talents had been buried in this place? Was it truly worth it, just to enter the Imperial Capital?
Lu Xingchen patted his shoulder and smiled. "People each have their own destiny; don’t dwell on sorrow. Quickly retrieve your ancient castle and let’s go after Mo Wushen and the others."
"Retrieve the ancient castle?" Qin Feiyang was taken aback and asked, "What do you mean?"
Lu Xingchen said, "Your ancient castle is still at the bottom of the sea."
"What?" Qin Feiyang exclaimed in surprise.
"If you had entered my spatial divine object directly, the ancient castle would not have been separated from you," Lu Xingchen explained with a smile. "But just now, you entered my spatial divine object from within the ancient castle. The ancient castle, being left exposed, is naturally still at the bottom of the sea." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Qin Feiyang had a moment of realization. He carefully sensed for it and confirmed that the ancient castle was indeed not within his body.
Then, with a mere thought, a barely perceptible ripple appeared on the calm surface of the sea.
With another thought from Qin Feiyang, a palm-sized ancient castle materialized in the void before them, emanating a mysterious aura.
When Lu Xingchen saw the true form of the ancient castle, his pupils constricted slightly. He sent a psychic transmission: "Brother Qin, this ancient castle of yours is no ordinary item."
"How can you tell?" Qin Feiyang asked, puzzled.
"I don’t know for sure. Perhaps it’s a gut feeling, or perhaps it’s because of the aura it emits," Lu Xingchen said.
Qin Feiyang gazed at the ancient castle. He too felt as if it were shrouded in a mysterious veil, making it difficult to fathom.
"Perhaps it truly isn’t ordinary," Qin Feiyang muttered, then stored the ancient castle into the space between his eyebrows.
Then, the two of them headed after Mo Wushen’s group, their gazes turning sharp and intense.
But suddenly, Lu Xingchen stopped and sent a psychic transmission: "Should we emulate Mo Wushen and his group and send Wan Chou’s party to their graves in the Bitter Sea?"
"Is there a need for that?" Qin Feiyang asked in return.
Lu Xingchen paused, then shook his head with a smile. "You’re right, there isn’t."
With their current combined strength, they had no need to resort to such despicable tactics to deal with Wan Chou and his companions.
"Mo Wushen, not going to wait for us?" As the two continued their ascent, Lu Xingchen shouted loudly.
"Hmm?" Mo Wushen was startled. That voice sounds somewhat familiar...
He stopped, looked down, and his expression changed instantly. "How is this possible?!" he exclaimed.
"What’s with all the fuss?" The blond-haired youth and the green-haired youth frowned. They also stopped and looked down at Qin Feiyang and Lu Xingchen, their faces filled with utter disbelief.
They’re still alive? Are we seeing ghosts?
The two of them rubbed their eyes hard and looked at Qin Feiyang and Lu Xingchen again.
They really were alive! A storm of shock surged through their hearts!
How did they manage to survive falling into the Bitter Sea?
Simultaneously, Tan Wu, who was furthest ahead, also stopped his advance and stared at Qin Feiyang and Lu Xingchen in amazement.
Suddenly, the blond-haired youth asked, "Mo Wushen, do they have any particularly special treasures on them?"
"Particularly special treasures?" Mo Wushen frowned. "I only know that Qin Feiyang has a spatial divine object he can hide in and a dagger that cuts iron like mud. As for the other person, I don’t know much about him."
"I believe they managed to escape the Bitter Sea thanks to Qin Feiyang’s spatial divine object, or perhaps that dagger," the blond-haired youth said, his eyes glinting with greed.
Mo Wushen asked with surprise and doubt, "What are you implying?"
"Kill them and take their treasures!" the blond-haired youth enunciated, each word laced with bone-chilling killing intent.
"No way." Mo Wushen shook his head, his eyes filled with worry. "Didn’t you see the person next to Qin Feiyang? His aura is as strong as yours. If a fight breaks out, I’m afraid both sides would suffer greatly. Besides, Qin Feiyang’s own abilities are considerable; he’s not easy to deal with!"
They had attacked Qin Feiyang earlier because they held every advantage—timing, location, and numbers. But now that Qin Feiyang had made it to the staircase, their advantages were gone. Dealing with him again would be far from easy.
The blond-haired youth sneered, "Both sides suffer greatly? Are you joking? So what if that guy is a Three-Star War Ancestor? We have two Three-Star War Ancestors here; you think we can’t handle one of him? As for Qin Feiyang, a mere One-Star War Ancestor, he’s not even worth considering!"
The green-haired youth added disdainfully, "If you’re scared, then scram! In any case, after we kill them, don’t even think you’ll get a share of anything!"
Arrogant fools. You’ll die because of your conceit sooner or later, Mo Wushen sneered inwardly. He nodded and said, "Alright then. I wish you good luck."
With that, he turned and headed up the staircase without a second glance.
The green-haired youth glanced at Mo Wushen’s retreating back and said contemptuously, "What a cowardly, incompetent good-for-nothing."
The blond-haired youth shook his head. "Someone like that will never amount to anything, even if he makes it into the Imperial Capital."
Then, the two of them stood on a higher step, arms crossed, looking down at Qin Feiyang and Lu Xingchen with leisurely arrogance.
Their haughty posture and disdainful gazes made them look like predators waiting for their prey.
But who was truly the prey? That was a question neither of them had ever considered.
