Immortal God of War-Chapter 67: The Sword of Murder_1
Chapter 67: Chapter 67: The Sword of Murder_1
Cheng Yi’s purpose in seeking out Qin Feiyang was to inquire about the levels of spiritual power. Now that his objective was achieved, he lost interest in Qin Feiyang.
Likewise, Qin Feiyang’s purpose in coming here was also to dispel Cheng Yi’s suspicions; otherwise, endless troubles would follow. He understood people like Cheng Yi all too well: they wouldn’t stop until they achieved their objective.
The topics of conversation between them grew fewer and fewer. Gradually, the atmosphere became somewhat awkward.
CREAK!
The door opened, and Ling Yan finally returned.
Cheng Yi asked, "What did you find out?"
Ling Yan replied, "Ling Yunfei has yielded his opportunity to enter the Martial Palace to Ling Sheng."
"Yielded?"
Qin Feiyang’s eyes narrowed slightly. He calmly said, "Even though I haven’t spent much time with Ling Yunfei, I have some understanding of his character. It doesn’t seem like something he would do willingly!"
"Mm." Ling Yan nodded. He didn’t hide anything and told them what happened.
Hearing this, Cheng Yi’s lips curved into a sarcastic smile. He looked at Qin Feiyang and said, "I guess he got what he deserved, wouldn’t you agree?"
"Indeed." Qin Feiyang smiled.
Actually, he had already anticipated this. He just hadn’t expected it to happen so soon. ƒreewebɳovel.com
Cheng Yi suddenly smacked his head. "Ling Yan, I just remembered I have some matters to attend to. You stay here and keep Brother Haotian company for a few more drinks. Brother Haotian, my apologies."
"Something came up?" Ling Yan was taken aback.
Qin Feiyang stood up, smiling. "No worries. As it happens, I also have some matters to attend to. We’ll get together some other time."
"Both of you have things to do? What a coincidence." Ling Yan looked at the two of them, completely baffled.
In truth, neither of them wanted to waste any more time. Under Ling Yan’s puzzled gaze, they left the room one after the other.
As they passed through the main hall, Qin Feiyang glanced at Ling Yunfei, only to see two middle-aged men surrounding him, glaring menacingly.
Ling Yunfei also noticed Qin Feiyang, a glimmer of a plea in his eyes.
Qin Feiyang, however, said nothing. He walked straight out of the tavern and headed towards the Treasure Pavilion.
Seeing this, Ling Yunfei’s heart filled with bitterness. He didn’t blame Qin Feiyang, because he understood this was the consequence of his own actions.
"Ling Yunfei, my patience has its limits."
"If you don’t hand it over, don’t blame me for being ruthless!" the two middle-aged men stated coldly.
Ling Yunfei looked up at them, a murderous glint in his eyes. He roared, "This is my last shred of hope! Are you going to take that away too?"
"You, a bastard, have the audacity to talk about hope? Ridiculous!"
"Not killing you is the greatest mercy we’ve shown," the two men sneered.
Ling Yunfei glared at them darkly, grinding his teeth. "Fine, I’ll give it to you!"
He took out a bamboo scroll from his Qiankun Bag and slammed it on the table with a THUMP.
"Consider yourself sensible!"
"To tell you the truth, before we left, the Family Head instructed that if you didn’t hand it over, we were to kill you on the spot!"
The two men sneered, grabbed the bamboo scroll, and swaggered off.
Kill me... Ling Yunfei shivered, the words echoing incessantly in his mind.
Slowly, his hands clenched tightly!
An astonishingly cold light filled his eyes. "Since you show no benevolence, then don’t blame me for being unrighteous!"
He muttered to himself, then took a few Gold Coins from his pocket, tossed them on the table, stood up, and quickly left the tavern.
「Treasure Pavilion.」
In the VIP room, the Pavilion Master sat beside the tea table, head bowed, seemingly deep in thought. Beside him, Li Si stood respectfully.
I can’t figure it out, I really can’t.
Suddenly, the Pavilion Master rubbed his forehead and asked, "Li Si, do you think this Jian Haotian is an Alchemist or not?"
"Well..." Li Si contemplated for a moment and shook his head. "This young man is too mysterious, hard to see through."
The Pavilion Master nodded. "Indeed. I’ve been in the business world for decades and seen all sorts of people. But this lad is like a puzzle, impossible to figure out..."
KNOCK! KNOCK!
Just then, a knock sounded at the door.
"Who is it?" Li Si asked.
"Pavilion Master, Jian Haotian is on the first floor. He says he wants to see you," a voice came from outside.
The Pavilion Master and Li Si exchanged glances—speak of the devil.
Li Si said, "Bring him up immediately."
Before long, accompanied by footsteps, Qin Feiyang pushed open the door and entered with a smile. "Pavilion Master, I trust you’ve been well."
The Pavilion Master said playfully, "I’m doing very well, no need for your concern. As for you, boy, do you even realize what kind of situation you’re in? Daring to run around alone like this, be careful you don’t get ganged up on and beaten like a street rat."
Qin Feiyang smiled faintly. "Well then, are you two also planning to call people to gang up on me?"
"Us?" The two men looked at each other and couldn’t help but shake their heads and chuckle.
The Pavilion Master said, "As a businessman, I wouldn’t do anything that harms others without benefiting myself. Besides, as far as I’m concerned, I quite admire you."
Li Si laughed. "Indeed, Young Master Jian is far-sighted, putting even us old fellows to shame. If you hadn’t already joined the Elixir Palace, our Pavilion Master would definitely have tried to recruit you into the Treasure Pavilion."
This time, it was Qin Feiyang’s turn to be taken aback. He shook his head with a soft laugh and said, "Let’s skip the pleasantries. I’m here this time to purchase some medicinal ingredients."
"There’s a pen and paper over there. You can write down a list," the Pavilion Master said, pointing to a nearby desk.
Qin Feiyang walked over, listed everything he needed, and handed it to the Pavilion Master.
The Pavilion Master looked it over carefully and said in surprise, "These are ingredients for four different Elixir Formulas?"
"You know Elixir Formulas?" Qin Feiyang asked, surprised.
"Most of the Disciples from your Elixir Palace come to my Treasure Pavilion to buy medicinal ingredients, so of course I know. However, I don’t know the refining steps and methods, so knowing these ingredients isn’t very significant," the Pavilion Master said, then handed the list to Li Si.
Li Si asked, "Young Master Jian, how many portions of the ingredients do you need?"
Qin Feiyang pondered for a moment, then said, "One hundred portions each of Healing Elixir, Bone-renewing Pill, and Body-refining Elixir. As for the ingredients for the Qi Gathering Pill, I’ll take as many as you have."
Li Si’s face twitched. This fellow is planning to loot all our Qi Gathering Pill ingredients!
"I’ll go prepare them right away. Please wait a moment, Young Master." With that, Li Si left the VIP room.
The Pavilion Master asked curiously, "Jian Haotian, tell me honestly, are you an Alchemist or not?"
"Isn’t it obvious?" Qin Feiyang shrugged.
"Then what level of spiritual power do you possess?" the Pavilion Master pressed.
Qin Feiyang’s eyes darted around, and he said with a sly grin, "If you give me all those medicinal ingredients I’m buying for free, I’ll tell you."
"Get lost!" The Pavilion Master immediately rolled his eyes.
However, Qin Feiyang had thoroughly piqued his curiosity. He silently mulled it over.
A full two hours passed before Li Si returned to the VIP room.
There were a hundred thousand portions of Qi Gathering Pill ingredients, valued at fifty thousand Gold Coins.
As for the ingredients for the Healing Elixir, Bone-renewing Pill, and Body-refining Elixir, the Pavilion Master didn’t consider them very valuable and gave them to Qin Feiyang as a gift.
After settling the bill, Qin Feiyang expressed his thanks, left the Treasure Pavilion, and headed back to the Elixir Palace.
"Jian Haotian, wait a moment."
However, just as he reached the entrance of the Elixir Palace and was about to go in, Ling Yunfei’s voice suddenly called out from behind him.
He frowned, stopped, and turned to see Ling Yunfei emerging from the darkness.
Qin Feiyang said, "You’d better not say you’re here looking for me."
Ling Yunfei stood opposite Qin Feiyang and said, "I am here looking for you. Please, give me a chance."
"Opportunities aren’t like radishes and cabbages; miss one, and it’s gone," Qin Feiyang stated coolly, then turned to enter the gate.
THUD!
Ling Yunfei actually knelt directly on the ground. "I know you hate me, but I’m truly at a dead end. The chance to enter the Martial Palace, that superior Martial Arts Technique—they’ve all been snatched away. I have nothing now, not even a dozen Gold Coins. Please, help me, will you?"
"I don’t hate you; I despise you," Qin Feiyang said without turning his head.
"Never mind you, even I despise myself right now. Why was I so naive? But I refuse to accept this! Why should they be able to take what’s mine whenever they please? I want revenge! I want to make them regret it!" Ling Yunfei clenched his fists, his face contorted, his entire being exuding a savage aura, making him look utterly ferocious.
Qin Feiyang stopped and frowned. "You could go to Yan City or Star Moon City. With your talent, entering the Martial King Palace wouldn’t be difficult. Why beg me?"
Ling Yunfei shook his head. "If I could leave Black Bear City, I would have left long ago. I wouldn’t have waited until now."
"Why not?" Qin Feiyang asked, puzzled.
Ling Yunfei remained silent, apparently burdened by some difficult circumstances.
"This is your last chance," Qin Feiyang stated coolly.
Ling Yunfei’s gaze trembled. He gritted his teeth and said, "My mother is in their hands. If I leave, they’ll kill her."
"Why would they kill her?" Qin Feiyang raised an eyebrow.
"I don’t know. All these years, I’ve tried every way to find out, but the Ling Family members refuse to say a word about it. I’ve asked my mother too, but she won’t tell me. She only told me that to survive, I must learn to endure. So, all these years, I’ve been enduring," Ling Yunfei said in anguish.
Qin Feiyang asked, "What about your father?"
Ling Yunfei shook his head. "I’ve never met him. He died before I was born."
"How did he die?" Qin Feiyang asked.
Ling Yunfei said, "My mother told me my father went to Black Bear Mountain for training, was gravely injured by a Vicious Beast, and died a few days after returning."
Qin Feiyang mumbled, "Father deceased, mother imprisoned, son suppressed... something feels fishy."
His intuition told him this matter wasn’t so simple.
After a moment of contemplation, he looked at Ling Yunfei and said, "I need a sword!"
"A sword?" Ling Yunfei was taken aback, not understanding why Qin Feiyang would suddenly say something so inexplicable. "If you agree to help me, I’ll buy one for you."
"Come find me when you understand the true meaning of those words."
Qin Feiyang turned and strode away.
A sword... Ling Yunfei racked his brains. Suddenly, a flash of inspiration struck him, and he shouted, "I will be the sword in your hand!"
"The sword I want isn’t an ordinary one. It’s a ruthless, cold-blooded, unconditionally obedient sword of slaughter. Can you be that?" Qin Feiyang’s voice drifted from the darkness.
"I can do it!" Ling Yunfei shouted to the heavens after a moment of internal struggle.
