I'm Trapped Inside a Prince as the Most Powerful Entity-Chapter 129: The Last Line of Defense
Chapter 129: The Last Line of Defense
Finally the golden sphere of light having systematically and brutally dismantled the Red Team the Blue Team and the Black Team turned its attention to the last remaining faction.
The only group still standing was the Golden Team the one led by Tuck and the one Killua belonged to.
The members of the Golden Team however had been granted a few precious seconds more than their counterparts in the other groups.
They had witnessed the swift brutal neutralization of the other three factions.
And they had used that small amount of time wisely.
While the golden sphere of light was busy with the Black Team the students of the Golden Team had worked in frantic yet disciplined unison.
They did not panic.
They worked together. They had erected three successive defensive barriers one behind the other. It was like building three walls.
And they were already in the process of forming a fourth magical shield.
The golden sphere its task with the other groups completed now shot towards the Golden Team.
It slammed into their first barrier. Like the single barrier of the Red Team this one shattered instantly. It offered almost no resistance at all. It was completely useless against the powerful attack.
The sphere continued on its path. Its momentum was barely diminished. It struck the second barrier.
This one held for a fraction of a second longer. A visible strain a shimmering effect showed on its magical surface before it too cracked and disintegrated into nothing.
Next the sphere hit the third barrier. Here the incredible power of the golden sphere finally began to wane to lessen.
It pushed against the barrier for several seconds.
The golden light of the sphere flickered as it expended its energy trying to break through. But eventually with a final concussive pulse a final burst of power the third barrier also shattered.
Just as the third barrier fell however the fourth and final one solidified.
It shimmered into existence just in time.
The few precious seconds that the first three barriers had bought them had been just enough. Their quick teamwork had paid off. They had managed to create their final defense.
Adam who was observing this entire exchange from across the courtyard with a detached analytical gaze was genuinely impressed.
Adam is very surprised to see that the Golden Team is capable of stopping his attack, even though his attack is very weak, yet the Golden Team is successful in stopping his attack.
The response time of these Golden Team students their quick thinking and most importantly their ability to work together seamlessly under immense pressure was commendable.
It was very impressive. They were a cut above the other more disorganized factions who had fallen so easily. He felt a flicker of respect for the Golden Team and their skill.
Adam’s light attack the golden sphere was now visibly weaker. It slammed into the fourth and final barrier.
Its energy having been depleted by breaking through the previous three shields was now significantly reduced. It was not as powerful as it had been at the start.
Still it possessed enough force to crack and then shatter this last line of defense. The fourth barrier also broke.
But just as the golden sphere broke through the final barrier a new figure stepped into its path.
It was Killua the tall fair-haired student who had previously shown a more level-headed and reasonable approach than the other upperclassmen.
He had been standing just behind the Golden Team’s official representative Tuck. And now he moved to the front to face the attack himself.
From a pocket in his uniform Killua produced what appeared to be a simple wooden handle. It looked like the hilt of a sword but there was no blade attached. It seemed like an empty useless object a broken weapon.
But then as all the remaining conscious students the ones who hadn’t been knocked out yet watched something extraordinary happened.
From the empty space above the handle where a sword’s blade would normally be a blade of pure shimmering blue energy suddenly manifested. It grew out of the handle in an instant.
It was Killua’s own life force his own energy his mana manifested and shaped into the form of a sword blade. It was a very advanced and difficult magical skill.
With a speed that matched his earlier effortless grace the speed he had shown when he had first appeared Killua swung the blue energy blade. He met the now-weakened golden sphere of light head-on.
When everyone present there sees that a boy from the Golden Team has a sword with an energy blade, they are very surprised.
The moment the golden sphere and Killua’s blue energy blade collided there was no grand explosion. There was no deafening roar of power. Instead something strange happened.
The two opposing energies the golden light from Adam and the blue energy from Killua seemed to cancel each other out. For a brief instant they met in the air.
And then with a silent outward rush of harmless energy both the golden sphere and the blue energy blade dissipated at the same time.
They dissolved into harmless glittering particles of light. These particles scattered and faded into the air leaving nothing behind.
The attack had caused no further injury. It had caused no collateral damage to the courtyard or the students.
But the fact remained. Killua with his own manifested power his energy sword had finally successfully stopped Adam’s powerful attack.
The last faction the Golden Team though battered and with many of their members looking terrified was still standing. They had not been completely defeated like the other three groups.
They had survived.
