'I'm the Villain, But the System Made Me OP'-Chapter 52: Integration
Afternoon.
Draven woke to an empty bed. The sheets still warm where Vivienne had been. Her scent lingering. Jasmine and sex.
He sat up. Rustle. Looked around.
Gone.
System: Princess left while you slept
Probably needed a moment
First time can be... intense
Give her space
She’ll be back ♥
Right. Makes sense.
Draven stood. Stretched. His body felt good. Sore in the right places. Satisfied.
He headed for the shower. Needed to clean up. Then find Vivienne. Make sure she was okay.
And maybe introduce her to the others.
Fuck. That conversation was gonna be interesting.
Forty minutes later. Clean. Dressed. Draven headed downstairs.
The estate was busy. Servants moving around. Tap tap tap. Preparing for the day. Some of them looked at him differently now. Knowing glances. Smirks.
They’d heard. Obviously. The walls weren’t that thick.
Whatever. Let them gossip.
He found Mara first. Training yard. She was running drills. Sword work. Swish swish swish. Precise. Deadly.
She stopped when she saw him. Lowered her blade. "Lord Draven."
Still using the formal title in public. Good.
"Mara." He walked closer. "Have you seen Vivienne?"
"The princess?" Her expression didn’t change. "Yes. She’s in the garden. With Lady Elise."
Oh.
Oh.
That was... either very good or very bad.
"How long?"
"About twenty minutes." Mara sheathed her sword. Click. "Lady Elise found her first. Invited her for tea."
Draven’s stomach tightened. "And?"
"They’re talking. Politely. No blood yet." A hint of amusement. "Should I intervene?"
"No. I’ll handle it."
He turned. Headed for the garden. Fast.
System: Primary wife meeting new wife
This is THE conversation
Elise establishing hierarchy
Or welcoming her
Could go either way
Better hurry ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Fuck fuck fuck.
He should’ve introduced them properly. Not let them meet alone.
Too late now.
The garden was beautiful. Spring flowers everywhere. Colors. Scents. A small pavilion in the center with a tea table.
Elise and Vivienne sat across from each other.
Both looked... calm. Composed.
That was worse than yelling.
Draven approached. Crunch crunch. Gravel path. They heard him. Both turned.
"Draven." Elise smiled. Warm. "Good afternoon, darling. Come join us."
"Hey." Vivienne’s smile was more nervous. "We were just... talking."
"I see that." He sat between them. Perfect position to intervene if needed. "About what?"
"You, of course." Elise poured him tea. Splash splash. Steam rising. "Vivienne was telling me about last night. How... thorough you were."
Oh god.
Vivienne’s face went red. "I didn’t—she asked—I couldn’t—"
"It’s fine, dear." Elise’s tone was gentle. Almost maternal. "I’m not angry. I was just curious about the newest addition to our... arrangement."
"Arrangement." Vivienne repeated the word. Testing it. "That’s one way to put it."
"Harem." Elise said it plainly. No hesitation. "That’s what it is. Let’s not pretend otherwise. Draven has seven women now. You’re the latest."
Silence.
Draven waited. Watched. This was Elise’s territory. Her move.
"I won’t lie to you, Vivienne." Elise sipped her tea. Delicate. Refined. "When Draven told me he was pursuing you, I was... conflicted. Jealous, even. I’m not proud of it, but there it is."
Vivienne blinked. "You were jealous? But you’re... I mean, you’re his—"
"Mother. Yes." Elise set her cup down. Clink. "And his lover. His first, actually. The relationship is complicated. Taboo. But it’s real. And I love him."
"I know." Vivienne’s voice was quiet. "He told me. About you. About all of them."
"Good. Then we can speak honestly." Elise leaned forward. "Here’s the truth. I’m the primary. I’ve been with him longest. I know him best. That gives me a certain... position. But I’m not threatened by you. Or the others. Do you know why?"
"Why?"
"Because Draven doesn’t love less when he loves more." Elise’s eyes softened. "He has enough for all of us. Different kinds of love, maybe. But all real. All deep. I’ve watched him with Seraphina, with Astrid, with Elara. He gives each woman what she needs. And it doesn’t diminish what he gives me."
Vivienne looked at Draven. Then back at Elise. "That’s... really mature of you."
"I’m thirty-eight. I’d better be mature." A slight smile. "But I’m also practical. Fighting over him would be stupid. We’d all lose. Better to work together. Support each other. Make this... unconventional situation actually function."
"You make it sound easy."
"It’s not." Elise’s tone turned serious. "There will be jealousy. Moments of insecurity. Times when you’ll wonder if he loves someone more than you. But that’s when we communicate. When we remember that we’re all in this together."
Draven watched Vivienne process this. Saw her expression shift. From nervous to... thoughtful.
"What about the others?" Vivienne asked. "Do they feel the same way?"
"Mostly." Elise considered. "Seraphina is competitive. She likes to ’win’ his attention through skill and prowess. Astrid is intellectual about it. Analyzes the dynamics. Lyra doesn’t care as long as she gets her time with him. Elara struggled at first—Holy Maiden and all—but she’s adjusted. Mara just wants to be owned and used, so she’s fine with anything."
"That’s... a lot of personalities."
"Yes. And you’re another. The political one. The princess who chose freedom over obligation." Elise’s gaze sharpened. "That’s your story, isn’t it? Draven freed you from an arranged marriage. Gave you a choice. And you chose him."
"I did." No hesitation. "He stole me from a prince. And I’m glad he did."
"Good." Elise stood. Walked around the table. Stood in front of Vivienne. "Then welcome to the harem, Princess Corvus. I hope you find what you’re looking for here."
She extended her hand.
Vivienne stared at it. Then stood. Took Elise’s hand. They shook.
"Thank you," Vivienne said. "I know this is weird. All of it. But I’ll try to fit in. Try not to cause problems."
"You will cause problems." Elise smiled. "We all do. The key is fixing them before they explode." She released Vivienne’s hand. Turned to Draven. "Now. I need to discuss something with you. Privately. Vivienne, would you excuse us?"
"Of course." Vivienne nodded. Started to leave. Then stopped. Looked back. "Lady Elise?"
"Yes?"
"Thank you. For being kind. I was expecting... worse."
"I can be worse when needed." Elise’s smile turned sharp. "But you’re not a threat. You’re family now. Remember that."
Vivienne nodded. Left. Crunch crunch. Her footsteps fading.
Once she was gone, Draven exhaled. "That went better than expected."
"Did you think I’d claw her eyes out?" Elise sat back down. Poured more tea. "I’m not some territorial animal."
"You literally told me you were jealous two days ago."
"Jealous, yes. Stupid, no." She sipped. "Besides. She’s sweet. Genuine. I like her. She’ll fit in fine once she relaxes."
"You’re incredible, you know that?"
"I’m practical." Elise set her cup down. Clink. "Now. Business. The Crown Prince wants to meet with you this afternoon. Two hours. His residence."
Right. That.
"What’s his angle?" Draven asked.
"Survival." Elise’s tone was blunt. "Edward knows the kingdom is a mess. Corruption is everywhere. The old Crown Prince just got exiled. The nobility is fractured. He needs allies. Strong ones. And you just got appointed Lord High Investigator with royal authority to destroy anyone you want."
"So he wants to make nice."
"More than that. He wants to ally with you. Officially." Elise leaned forward. "Edward’s smart. He sees where the power is shifting. The King trusts you. Duke Valerius backs you. You just acquired the Corvus maritime assets. You’re becoming a major player. He’d be a fool not to court your support."
"And what do I get?"
"Influence over the next king. Which means influence over the kingdom’s future." Elise smiled. "You refused the throne. But you can still shape who sits on it. That’s the power behind the crown ."
You don’t need the crown
You control who wears it
Edward owes you now
Use that leverage ♥
Also: Elise is SMART AF
Primary wife for a reason ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
"I’ll meet with him," Draven said. "Feel him out. See if he’s worth backing."
"He is. I’ve done research. Edward’s competent. Honest. Not brilliant, but solid. He’ll make a good king if guided properly." Elise’s eyes gleamed. "And you’ll be the one guiding him."
"I have become Kingmaker."
"Exactly." She stood. Walked to him. Bent down. Kissed him. Soft. Lingering. "Now go get ready. You have politics to do."
"What about you?"
"I have Vivienne to integrate. Astrid wants to run some tests on your new Twilight Core. Seraphina’s been asking about another sparring session. And Mara needs her evening... session." Elise’s smile turned wicked. "I’m a busy woman."
"Managing the harem?"
"Someone has to." She kissed him again. "Go. Be the Lord High Investigator. Make me proud."
Draven stood. Pulled her close. "I love you."
"I love you too." Her voice softened. "Always. No matter how many others there are. Always."
They stood like that. Holding each other. Garden quiet around them.
Then Elise pulled back. "Now seriously. Go. You’ll be late."
"Yes ma’am."
He left. Headed back to the estate. Needed to change. Look formal. Professional.
Crown Prince meeting. Politics. Power plays.
This was the game now.
And he was winning.
Two hours later.
Crown Prince Edward’s residence was smaller than expected. Not a palace. Just a large manor. Tasteful. Comfortable. Not ostentatious.
Interesting choice.
Draven was announced. Click. Door opening. A servant led him through.
Edward met him in a study. Books everywhere. Maps on the walls. A desk covered in paperwork.
The new Crown Prince looked up. Smiled. "Lord Arclight. Thank you for coming."
"Your Highness." Draven bowed. Slight. Respectful but not subservient.
"Please, sit." Edward gestured to a chair. "Can I offer you anything? Wine? Tea?"
"Tea’s fine."
Edward poured. Handed Draven a cup. Then sat across from him.
"Let’s be direct," Edward said. "I need your support. The kingdom’s a mess. My predecessor was a disaster. Half the nobility is corrupt. The other half is terrified of being investigated. And you’re the man with the power to destroy anyone you choose."
Blunt. Honest.
Draven liked that.
"Go on."
"I’m not a brilliant politician. I’m a competent administrator. I ran the Northern Reaches for fifteen years without major incidents. I’m fair. Steady. But I’m not... charismatic. Not inspiring. I won’t rally the people with speeches." Edward’s expression was serious. "What I am is trustworthy. I’ll keep my word. I’ll protect the kingdom. And I’ll listen to good advice."
"And you think I give good advice?"
"I think you’ve destroyed three major houses in four months, exposed a Crown Prince’s corruption, and somehow came out of it with royal favor and a custom-made position of power." Edward smiled. "That’s not luck. That’s skill. And I want that skill working with me, not against me."
Fair assessment.
"What are you offering?" Draven asked.
"Alliance. Official. You back my reign. I give you authority to continue your investigations. No interference. No protection for corrupt nobles. You clean up the kingdom, I provide the royal legitimacy." Edward leaned forward. "I also won’t interfere with your... personal affairs. The unconventional relationships. Your business."
"You know about that?"
"Everyone knows. They just pretend not to." Edward’s tone was matter-of-fact. "Seven women. Including a princess I was supposed to meet at that gala. Aldric was furious, by the way. But Vivienne chose you. Her choice. I respect that."
"You’re not upset?"
"Why would I be? I never met her. It was a political arrangement. She wanted freedom. You gave it to her." Edward shrugged. "Besides. I’m married. Happily. My wife would’ve been miserable sharing me with a political bride. This works out better for everyone."
Huh. Edward was more reasonable than expected.
"What about the corruption?" Draven asked. "Who’s left?"
"Marquess Sterling for sure. Baron Westfield. Count Ravenswood. Possibly Duke Harrington, though he’s better at hiding it." Edward pulled out a list. "These are the ones I suspect. But I can’t prove anything. That’s where you come in."
Draven took the list. Scanned it. Twelve names. All major nobility.
"You want me to investigate all of them?"
"I want you to destroy the guilty ones. Spare the innocent. And send a message that corruption won’t be tolerated anymore." Edward’s eyes hardened. "My predecessor nearly destroyed this kingdom. I won’t let that happen again."
"And if I find corruption in your administration?"
"Expose it. I’d rather know now than have it blow up later." Edward extended his hand. "Do we have an alliance, Lord Arclight?"
Draven studied him. Read his expression. Body language. Tone.
Honest. Genuine. Not hiding anything.
This could work.
He took Edward’s hand. Shook. "We do, Your Highness. You have my support."
[DING! ALLIANCE FORMED]
[Crown Prince Edward → Allied]
[Political Backing: SECURED]

[TOTAL VP: 397,650 → 398,650]
Alliance secured
Edward’s reasonable
Gives you free rein
Won’t interfere with harem
This is peak Kingmaker strategy
Control the throne without sitting on it ♥
Also: Elise handled Vivienne like a BOSS
Main wife energy ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
They discussed details for another hour. Specifics. Timeline. Which nobles to target first.
By the time Draven left, he had a clear plan. Sterling first. Then Westfield. Work down the list systematically.
Clean the kingdom. One corrupt asshole at a time.
Outside, the sun was setting. Whoosh. Wind picking up.
Draven headed back to the estate. Long day. Productive.
Vivienne integrated. Elise being perfect. Edward allied.
Everything falling into place.
When he got home, he found them waiting. All seven. In the main sitting room.
Seraphina, Elise, Astrid, Lyra, Elara, Mara, Vivienne.
His harem. Complete.
"Welcome back," Elise said. Smiling. "We thought we’d have dinner together. All of us. Officially welcome Vivienne."
Vivienne looked nervous. But also excited.
The others were friendly. Welcoming. Astrid already asking questions about Vivienne’s knowledge of portal magic. Lyra offering wine. Elara complimenting her dress.
It was... normal. Domestic.
Seven women. One man. Making it work.
Draven sat with them. Listened to their conversations. Watched them interact.
This was his life now.
And honestly?
He wouldn’t change a fucking thing.
