Chapter 64: Chapter 64: Sharon Quincy’s Suspicion

"Phone? What phone?" Sharon Quincy’s gaze flickered away, her guilty conscience evident in her voice. "I don’t know what you’re talking about."

"You know exactly what I’m talking about." Cecilia Nathan narrowed her eyes, her voice cold. "Since you don’t want to admit it, then it’s time I laid my cards on the table."

"Linden Nathan sent you here today, didn’t he? And I doubt he sent you just to chase after Damian Hawthorne." Cecilia Nathan crossed her arms, a smirk playing on her lips. "Or do I need to be more direct with my reminders?"

Sharon Quincy’s expression shifted.

Cecilia Nathan’s words were a wake-up call.

’She wasn’t the real Yuxi Nathan. She was just here to complete a mission.’

’Linden Nathan had never asked her to pursue anyone. That was all driven by her own selfish desires.’

"Cecilia Nathan, is this your phone?"

Serena Hughes chimed in.

She finished speaking and handed the phone to Cecilia Nathan.

Cecilia Nathan saw her phone and took it. "Thank you."

Serena Hughes gave a small smile. "I just saw this phone on the sofa. The case looked a little familiar."

After she spoke, she shot Sharon Quincy a knowing glance. "Miss Nathan, didn’t you say you were feeling unwell? I even had security escort you to a room to rest. All better so soon?"

Serena Hughes sized her up, shocked.

’How is the drug not working?’

’Did Grandma buy a counterfeit?’

Seeing that Cecilia Nathan had her phone back, Sharon Quincy remained impassive. "Miss Cecilia Nathan, we didn’t take your phone. You left it on the sofa yourself."

’If word got out that the grand heiress of the Nathan Family was a phone thief, she’d be a laughingstock.’

Cecilia Nathan glanced over her phone. Seeing no obvious changes, she looked at Sharon Quincy with amusement. "Miss Nathan, care to have a word in private?"

’She could tell from the screen that they had gone through her chat history and text messages.’

’This person Father sent is a little foolish. Stealing my phone exposed her motives right away.’

When Sharon Quincy saw her retrieve the phone, her eye twitched violently.

She had no idea what Cecilia Nathan had discovered.

But from the very beginning, she felt as though Cecilia Nathan’s beautiful eyes could see right through her.

Thinking about the messages on Cecilia Nathan’s phone, a wave of panic washed over Sharon Quincy.

"I don’t have time. Cecilia Nathan, is it? I’m a very busy person. I don’t just talk to anyone. Typically, people have to make an appointment to see me."

Her intuition told her that if she spoke to Cecilia Nathan alone, she would likely drop a bombshell.

And it was a bombshell she had no desire to face.

’Right now, she *is* Yuxi Nathan. No one can deny her identity.’

Cecilia Nathan could see her panic but didn’t call her out on it.

’Since she’s the person Father found, I should at least show her some courtesy.’

Sharon Quincy took a deep breath. "I’m rather busy, so I’ll be skipping the rest of the banquet."

If she stayed any longer, she was afraid she’d be exposed.

Seeing her about to leave, Serena Hughes, though annoyed, didn’t try to stop her.

’As long as she gives up on Damian Hawthorne, I can turn a blind eye.’

"I’ll walk you out," Serena Hughes said, her eyes glinting.

Sharon Quincy frowned. "That won’t be necessary. I have my own driver."

With that, she strode away. But Serena Hughes was thick-skinned and hurried after her. "Miss Nathan, don’t be a stranger..."

After the two of them left, the bodyguards who had been with Sharon Quincy followed.

When they reached the door, Serena Hughes suddenly asked, "Yuxi Nathan, you were the one who stole Cecilia Nathan’s phone just now, right?"

Sharon Quincy stopped in her tracks and shot her a sidelong glance. "And Miss Hughes, you added a little something extra to that drink you gave me earlier, didn’t you?"

’As if I’d pass out right after drinking something from her by pure coincidence.’

’Fortunately, her body has poor absorption and isn’t very sensitive, so most things don’t have much of an effect on her. Otherwise, if something had happened and she’d disgraced Linden Nathan, her life would have been over.’

Serena Hughes’s expression darkened.

’She couldn’t believe something like that had absolutely no effect on Yuxi Nathan.’

’Her plan was ruined. She’d have to think of something else.’

Serena Hughes forced a smile. "Miss Nathan, you’re quite amusing. The drink did have a little alcohol in it, but as for anything ’extra’... what does that have to with me?"

"Serena Hughes, let me be blunt. I don’t consider you a rival," Sharon Quincy said with a haughty laugh. "The only one I consider my rival is Cecilia Nathan."

"Cecilia Nathan... she should be our *common* rival."

Sharon Quincy had a faint suspicion about Cecilia Nathan.

But she didn’t dare to dwell on it.

’There were some secrets that, as long as she didn’t know them, she could feign innocence.’

’While she wanted to take care of some personal business here, she was currently representing the entire Nathan Family.’

’If the Nathan Family lost face, she wouldn’t just be disgraced—she might lose her life.’

’She knew what Linden Nathan was capable of.’

’When Linden Nathan’s daughter, Yuxi Nathan, was kidnapped, he was enraged. It was said that the kidnappers all ended up either dead or terminally ill. Not a single one of them survived unscathed.’

’Although many said the criminals got what they deserved, some secretly suspected it was all Linden Nathan’s revenge.’

’Money makes the world go round, and with the Nathan Family’s wealth, what was impossible?’

’Outrageous things happened in powerful families all the time. If she failed, Linden Nathan might get angry and retaliate against her too.’

’But in some matters, ignorance was bliss.’

’As long as she "couldn’t find" the real Yuxi Nathan, she could continue to use this identity.’

Sharon Quincy’s words sent Serena Hughes into a thoughtful silence.

’Cecilia Nathan... she was indeed her rival, too.’

"I have things to attend to, so I’ll be going. Miss Hughes, if you have free time, perhaps you should work on some self-improvement." Sharon Quincy looked her up and down, her gaze lingering for a few extra seconds on her slight paunch.

Serena Hughes trembled with rage.

Ever since the Sinclair Family had taken her in, she’d started putting on happy weight.

’That look... it was saying I wasn’t even worthy of being her rival.’

Having said her piece, Sharon Quincy turned and walked away.

In full view of everyone, Sharon Quincy climbed into the most expensive luxury vehicle there.

The car door shut, and Sharon Quincy turned to the person beside her. "Did you install the software on the phone?"

"It’s installed."

"Good."

’Now, let’s see just who this Cecilia Nathan really is.’

As soon as Cecilia Nathan got her phone back, she sent a text to Linden Nathan: "What kind of person did you send over?"

"She’s a real piece of work."

"She’s making me look like a complete joke."

The moment Cecilia sent the texts, they appeared on Sharon Quincy’s phone.

Reading Cecilia’s messages, Sharon Quincy’s heart began to pound.

’They both have the surname Nathan.’

’They’re the same age.’

’Could it be... that Cecilia Nathan is the real daughter of Linden Nathan? The true heiress of the Nathan Family?’

A moment later, another text from Cecilia popped up: "This woman has terrible character."

At that, Sharon Quincy broke out in a cold sweat.

She deleted the mirrored messages from her own phone and said to the bodyguard beside her, "Stop monitoring Cecilia Nathan’s phone."

’If I keep watching, my heart is going to leap out of my chest.’
