I Will Create a Good Ending for the Yandere Villainess-Chapter 65: Exposure? (edited)
What in the name of the gods was this woman talking about?! Did they fall under the category of... not normal? Lillian was staggered by what she heard.
Was she trying to hint at something?
She then watched as Marionette began to lean in slowly. Lillian blushed, her lips trembling a bit as she fidgeted under Marionette’s intimate gaze.
She then raised her hands towards Marionette’s cheeks, cupping them as their face continued to near at a snail’s pace.
Marionette stared down at Lillian’s wet lips, which had a beautiful red to them and would no doubt be soft.
The world seemed to stop around them in anticipation of what was about to befall. The flame in the lantern seemingly stopped dancing as it gazed out of its black metal cage.
Marionette moved her right hand under Lillian’s chin towards her cheek, cupping it as well, and their lips soon became an inch away from each other.
Lillian could feel Marionette’s warm breath brushing against her face, and the seductive floral smell that continued to radiate off Marionette’s body wafted into her nose.
Just as they were about to press their lips against each other softly, Lillian pulled Marionette’s face back, clutching the sides of her face tightly.
She then said in a scolding tone:
"You shouldn’t be kissing someone you have only known for a week! You barely know anything about me, and yet you’re leaning in?!"
Lillian then pulled back, folding her arms over her chest.
Marionette stared at her silently, still keeping her gaze on Lillian’s lips before shifting them back up to her eyes.
"I suppose that means we aren’t in the category..." she breathed a small sigh, "Well then, when do you suppose would be the right amount of time?" she asked with a tilt of her head.
"E-eh...?" Lillian was left taken aback. This woman actually wanted it? She was quite flattered, to be honest. Having a woman as beautiful as Marionette ask when she can kiss her is quite...
Lillian exaggeratedly shook her head, clearing her mind before answering.
"I-If you still want it...!" Lillian turned to the side, still keeping her arms folded over her chest as her eyes moved away from Marionette. "A-a... a few months... would sound about right..." she stammered.
"A few months..."
Marionette placed her hand over her mouth, her brows furrowing and her mind falling into deep thought about what Lillian said.
"Who knew that acquiring a kiss from someone would take so long..." she murmured under her breath.
Marionette then stared back at Lillian and found her staring back with a timid look in her eyes.
Lillian stared at her before asking:
"I-If we aren’t going to talk about this anymore... do you... happened to have done something that would allow us to get back to the tree?"
Marionette gave a brief nod, causing Lillian’s eyes to sparkle. However, her eyes then lost their light once she heard what Marionette said afterwards.
"I did. But you, due to your inability to find a Catacomb Brawler until now, I had to cut off the trail I was leaving behind with my element to conserve my mana."
Lillian’s left eye then twitched.
"It wasn’t even that long!"
"You took a few hours... which is an understatement."
"Why the hell are these things so rare!?" Lillian exclaimed in frustration, clutching the sides of her head.
Marionette thought about Lillian’s question and tapped her chin at the thought of it, "Unless the little crusade they pulled on us had left them low in numbers... which is highly unlikely... or it could be because something else is now decreasing their numbers beside us."
"Huh... like that monster that chased after us?"
Marionette nodded, "Something like that. Or it could be that strange Dweller that you encountered."
Lillian widened her eyes, "You were around for that?"
"Why wouldn’t I be?"
"Well... anyway! What did you think of that thing? That wasn’t an ordinary Dweller, right?"
"Obviously, it wasn’t, Lillian... and if it were, then it must’ve suffered a severe injury that caused it to act that way."
"Like when it just walked up to me before walking away?"
Marionette nodded.
"Yes. Exactly."
Lillian asked with a tilt of her head.
"Did it also walk up to you, too?"
Marionette shook her head in response before answering:
"No, rather. It stared eerily at me as well."
Lillian scratched her head, growing more worried, "At least it didn’t attack us... but do you know what that thing might actually be? The dark smoke coming out of its eyesocket should be a clue, right?"
Marionette rubbed her chin, pondering.
"It is. And quite a worrying one at that if what I think it’s identity is..."
"And that would be...?"
Marionette stared at the curious Lillian, letting silence dramatically take over their surroundings before answering.
"A Corrupted."
"Huh...?" Lillian was left speechless.
Corruption was a sort of mutation gained under high exposure to a god’s corpse, sort of like radiation in a way. Not only would you be ridiculously enhanced, but you would also rise to the next Tier.
However, these mutations are rare due to the high likelihood of death.
"A-are you sure...?"
Marionette nodded, though not completely confident of her theory, "Yes... It must have been wandering inside the True Darkness we saw a few days ago."

"What sort of thing wants to walk in there!? I know they’re attracted to the Exposure, but shouldn’t it be against their instincts to walk inside something that would tear them apart?!"
"It’s most likely that it walked through the outermost section of it, where it is less deadly but still high in Exposure," Marionette said in a monotonous voice.
"Either way, walking through something that concentrated is deadly enough. And is it even that smart to do that?"
Marionette shrugged, "Depends on how strong and confident in their instincts to survive. Even if it sustains some injuries, they’re quite tenacious enough to push through it. Especially when the higher concentrated the Exposure is, the stronger they get."
Lillian sighed, "I really hope it doesn’t become a problem later on in this trial..." she said in a concerned tone.
