I Will Create a Good Ending for the Yandere Villainess-Chapter 59: Good Night? (edited)
Lillian widened her eyes, hurrying to summon the Sonata of Revenge. (2)
As the familiar hilt of her rapier appeared in her hand, she slashed upwards, intending to parry Marionette’s overhead swing.
As the edge of her rapier met Marionette’s shadowy black sword, she watched as her blade passed through it.
Watching as her sword sliced through it like butter.
It was like Marionette’s sword was purely made of gas.
She then stared at the sword of darkness hovering before her face, staring down at her threateningly.
Almost as if it was telling her it could end her at any moment.
Lillian then tore her eyes away from it, staring deeply at Marionette, who stared back silently.
She stood before Lillian, staring down at her due to her taller stature.
She then said in a cold tone.
"Dead. Try again."
"How do I even counter that!?" Lillian exclaimed frustratedly. (8)
How was she supposed to defend against an attack she can’t even block or parry?
Marionette raised a curious eye at Lillian, not understanding the reason for Lillian’s dramatic outburst.
"Figure it out."
Lillian froze at her words.
"Huh?"
Wasn’t she meant to teach her how to fight? Or was she missing something?
She then watched as Marionette walked back to her spot earlier, getting into her stance.
And without warning, she shot towards Lillian with blitzing speed.
Startled, Lillian swung the Sonata of Revenge at Marionette’s approaching face before widening her eyes. (2)
’C-crap, it’s going to hit her!’
The muscles in her arm then immediately contracted, stopping the motion of her blade from reaching Marionette.
Marionette casted a brief look of disappointment at this before holding the tip of her sword before Lillian’s neck.
She then asked in a low tone, lowering her sword.
"Why did you stop? What’s with the hesitation? Are you perhaps doubting my skills?" Marionette rapidly fired off her questions, causing Lillian to shrink back. (2)
Lillian pulled her gaze away from Marionette with a guilty expression. (2)
She then said in a timid voice. (2)
"I didn’t want to hurt you possibly..."
Marionette then narrowed her eyes on Lillian’s reason, finding them to be unacceptable, considering what they were currently doing.
"What are you saying...? This is a spar, is it not? I am training you, am I not? While I am grateful you wish not to harm me, I find it quite insulting if you said you wanted to learn from me and then don’t wish to after."
Staring at Lillian, who had yet to respond back, she sighed deeply.
"If you do not wish to learn to fight, then reward me with my compensation for wasting my time. If you do, you better tell me the reason why you want to fight in the first place. Because this sudden weakness from you is disturbing."
Lillian then broke out of silent reflection.
"I do want to learn! I just..."
She then trailed off at the end, causing Marionette to raise an impatient eye.
"Well?"
"I just... don’t have a good reason for it besides growing stronger..."
Marionette stared at her silently, thinking about what Lillian had said before commenting—her voice thoughtfully, soft and sharp at the same time.
"... There is no "good" reason when it comes to fighting. Only good perspectives and opinions about it."
She then wandered back to her place, pulling herself into her stance once more.
"You may take my word however you want, but your reason is shallow. Not ambitious enough," she said, charging towards Lillian once more and swinging her sword.
"Not ambitious enough?" Lillian muttered to herself, leaning herself to the side and narrowly dodging the sword.
"Yes."
Marionette quietly responded, watching as Lillian brought up the tip of her rapier and stabbed it at her.
With a flick of her wrist, she slapped the flat side of her sword against Lillian’s edge, parrying it before twisting the sword around and slashing down on her.
However, before she could, a droplet of water appeared before her face, expanding into a sharp stream before shooting at her.
She tilted her head far to the side, watching as the stream pierced through the veil of her hair that followed after her.

Her face was calm. Unmoving like an undisturbed serenity ocean.
Even as she watched as more droplets formed under her, her face continued to remain still. But a glint passed through her eyes.
Lillian watched as her bullets shot through Marionette’s body, leaving holes in her that were filled with a gaseous darkness.
"Good..." Lillian heard her mutter before disappearing.
Alarmed, Lillian glanced around, watching in the corner of her right eye a long spear of darkness rapidly stabbing towards her.
Leaning back and watching as it shot over her, she then watched as Marionette dropped the spear, summoning a battle axe and slamming down its edge at her.
Lillian widened her eyes, falling against the ground, groaning, before rolling back—just about dodging the bisecting attack that caused cracks to form in the ground. (2)
"Better." Marionette murmered.
The two then continued to engage in close-quarter combat. Lillian was always being placed on the edge of life and death—her legs dangling over its cliff every time she dodged a narrow strike.
Every attack made by Marionette caused Lillian to feel like she was indeed trying to kill her and that this spar was just a reason to justify it.
With constantly being put on the defensive, she was beginning to grow tired, unsurprisingly. She had already used enough stamina today after the battle with the Catacomb residents earlier.
Currently, she’s surprised she hasn’t just collapsed and blacked out from exhaustion.
Although...
She was currently lying on her back, injured and bruised, breathing heavily as she gazed at the hole in the ceiling. (2)
The light that passed through it has become corrupted in darkness. No longer blessing them with the sight of their surroundings. However, this disadvantage only applied to Lillian.
Marionette stood beside her, peering over and staring down at her.
"Do you wish to continue?"
She tilted her head, causing Lillian to shake her head exaggeratedly. (10)
"I think... I am good for today... haha..." she chuckled nervously, sighing in relief once Marionette agreed. (2)
"I suppose it is good to end it for today. We did, in fact, do a lot."
’That’s an understatement!’ Lillian yelled inside her head.
Marionette continued to stare down at her, her eye rising the longer Lillian continued to stay motionless.
"So, are you going to get up?"
Lillian stared back before smirking lazily. (2)
"Hm? Can’t you just carry me~...?" she hummed in a playful tone.
Marionette’s eyes narrowed, her voice becoming authoritative and commanding.
"Get up."
Lillian rolled her eyes and groaned. (4)
"Fine..."
Marionette sighed, watching as Lillian rose from the ground.
"You’re acting more like that woman."
Lillian tilted her head to the side, confused about who she could be referring to. (3)
"Huh? Woman? Who?"
Marionette stared at her with a deadpan expression before glancing down at Lillian’s chest and holding up her hand, gesturing a squeezing motion with her fingers.
After a brief moment of thought, a sudden image of a violet-haired girl popped into her mind, staring at her with a lecherous smirk and glancing at her from top to bottom.
"... Oh, Millis!" Lillian’s expression then slowly darkened, "Huh!? What do you mean I’m becoming more like her?!" she exclaimed, staring at Marionette’s back. (8)
Marionette didn’t turn around to answer and instead continued to walk towards the hill and eventually up it, reaching the top, followed by the tired and sore Lillian.
Lillian clutched the handle of her lantern, grateful for her past self for investing in the lantern.
She then watched as Marionette placed herself beside the curved body of the tree, leaning her back against it before staring back at Lillian and patting the spot next to her.
Lillian smiled softly and sat beside her, turning her head to the side and placing her lantern next to her before turning back and seeing Marionette offering her black blazer to her. (2)
She then said in a monotone yet caring tone:
"It’ll be cold. Wear it or use it as a blanket."
Lillian stared at it with wide eyes, slowly reaching out to it and pulling it over herself. She then stared back at Marionette, "But aren’t you going to be cold?" (2)
"... I’m used to being cold... particularly inside a cave like this one. Except smaller and more cramped," she muttered, causing Lillian to frown. (2)
"Are you cold now?" Lillian asked.
"Not of a worrying amount—" Marionette responded before being scolded by Lillian.
"But it will be!" With sudden movements, Lillian clutched Marionette’s shoulders, pushing her back onto the ground and stared down at her with a reddened face. (2)
Marionette stared at her. Her nonchalant expression cracked under this sudden action, widening her eyes as she stared deeply into Lillian’s.
She then felt Lillian lay her body on top of her, bringing over her blazer on top of them. She then felt Lillian’s arms wrap tightly around her waist, bringing them closer together.
Lillian stared up at her under the blazer, flusteredly. (2)
"L-look! If we do this, our combined body warmth will get us through the night." Lillian explained with a slight stutter, popping her head out from under the blazer like a turtle. (8)
Marionette silently stared at her. The corner of her lips curled into a surprising smile, albeit a bit small.
"I see..."
Lillian then felt a pair of arms wrap around her back, equally as tight as her hold around Marionette’s waist.
Blushing, she popped her head back under the blazer, pulling it over her face and stuttering in a high-pitched voice.
"G-good night!" (16)
Marionette stared softly at Lillian’s adorable behaviour—her cold and apathetic voice becoming softer and even warm.
"Good night to you too, Lillian..."
