I Try To Enjoy My Life But This Woman Keep Calling Me Villain-Chapter 79: War Meeting
I sit in front of my father and say.
"What can I do for you, father?"
Two days ago, my father decided to have a massive party involving all the people in the city’s people. What is the party for? Celebrating the victory over the Gokuya Kingdom and getting my left arm back.
It was a waste of money, in my opinion. However, my father told me that it was to increase the morale of the people.
After the party, my father made a state of mourning the next day to remember the people who died in battle. My father said that this would also increase morale and honor the people’s sacrifice in that battle.
Honor is something the people of this era put in high regard—or at least the people in this part of the kingdom. However, after that betrayal, I start to lose hope in the so-called honor.
Anyway, yesterday is the day we bury the dead in the public graveyard where the family of the fallen can visit their loved ones. Yesterday evening, my father gave compensation money to the family of the soldier that died in battle.
That money can last them twenty years if they manage their money carefully.
"A letter is coming from the capital."
I snap from my thoughts when my father sits in front of me. I take the letter from the table and read it.
"The letter tells us to prepare and ensure our army is ready. It looks like the king wants me to lead the campaign against the Gokuya Kingdom. Lord Verqur will also come with the army from the north to make sure no one dares to betray us just because we are a southerner."
I frown a little and put away the letter.
"Why now? Usually, they let us do the work."
"Because of this."
He places a stack of paper on the table, and I blink for a second. A newspaper? Do we have one in this world? I never see them.
"Newspaper?"
"Oh? You know them, huh? I usually did not buy this crap because it was full of propaganda from the royal family. However, one of our merchants told me about an interesting newspaper article."
I take the newspaper and grimace a little when I read a few paragraphs of it. It was all about how the ’Glorious and Honorable’ Gipan Kingdom managed to defeat the ’Evil and Tyrannical’ Gokuya Kingdom.
Bloody hell.
The longer I read them, the more I want to vomit. It is all about how the Gipan Kingdom is a safe haven when compared to other kingdoms and something along that line.
I look at my father and say.
"Are all of them like this?"
"Yes. It is all about the Gipan Kingdom and the royal family. I’m sick of it and have decided not to buy them for more than a decade. Well, until now. Anyway, they want to attack because of how the Gokuya Kingdom declares that the Southern Nobles are the only worthy opponent in the entire Gipan Kingdom."
"I see. In the end, it was because the Gokuya Kingdom hurt their pride that the king moved their soldiers."
"Not only that, I think the king got strong-armed to move the army by Duke Verqur to repair the bridge between the people of the South and the North. It will not do much, but it is a start."
The people in this part of the kingdom have long memories and will not forget what the northern people have done to us. They will not trust the northerner, but it was a start, as my father said.
"Anyway, the reason why I call you here is to give you your own unit."
"My own unit?"
"Yes. I want you to recruit two hundred people under your wing. They will be your unit, and no one can command them except you except in an emergency."
"Why?"
"I have seen you easily commanding people and know you are ready to command an army. Not only that, but I also notice that you are better off being free rather than under someone else’s command. You can heal people and quickly take others to safety if they need it. You are more useful as a bird in the sky than a lion among the pride."
I nod in understanding.
"Thank you, Father. Thank you for trusting me."
"You have earned it, son. I am even willing to give you the lordship if not for the war going on."
"Nope. I don’t want that. At least not right now."
"I beg your pardon?"
"I don’t want a lordship now or even a decade to come."
"What? Why? Many people want to get a lordship, and some are even willing to kill their father to get that lordship."
"I will take that, but I will do it when I’m ready and when you are ready to retire."
"You are ready, you know?"
"That may be true, but I know you are not ready to retire."
My father nods his head in understanding.
"I’m ready to retire, but my duty as a lord has not yet been done. However, it is good that you are ready to take the Lordship. I know that you will do great as a lord, and our land will prosper or even enter a golden age."
I can only smile at his praise and blush a little. My father is someone who rarely smiles, but once he gives a genuine smile like this, you feel warm. Now I understand why my mother says that he can be popular with ladies if he tries harder.
"Thank you, Father."
"Good. Anyway, you need to prepare. Train your unit to move as one before the royal army comes here. They should arrive one or two months from now."
"That long?"
"Large army moves much slower, Gwyn. Not only because of their number but because they must wait for the supply unit they bring. With that many supplies, they will be slower than even a foot soldier marching."
A month or two, huh? I think I can do that. I nod and say.
"I can do that. I think I can gather all the soldiers and train them in basic formation and order."
"Good. I leave the preparation to you."

Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!
I don’t know why I agreed to come! I regret my decision!
I look at the massive army marching through the road to the Shadowfall City, where the army will regroup and attack the Gokuya Kingdom. Why am I among these people? Because my dumb past self decided to agree with the king’s suggestion.
What kind of suggestion, you ask?
Well, I will be the diplomat between the Northern and Southern Nobles because I have a good enough relationship with the Cunningham family.
The Southern Nobles will also meet us in Shadowfall City and have a massive war meeting. A war meeting that did not appear in the game.
In the game, Gipan Kingdom will not make a counterattack against the Gokuya Kingdom because they will get attacked by the Luzia Kingdom, which is the main villain of the final arc leads. Combine it with the Gokuya Kingdom, who allied themselves with the final boss; it was a tough battle for the player in my previous life.
However, instead of being attacked by the Luzia Kingdom, they joined us in the counterattack against the Gokuya Kingdom. The reason? Gwyndolin Alexander Cunningham, the anomaly of this timeline.
He did not follow the storyline. Hell. He destroys the cannon, steps on it, burns it, and throws it to the sea with a chain and locks.
Canon’s storyline is gone, reduced to atoms.
And I think it was for the better. There is no civil war, there is a monster outbreak, and there is a chance that the last boss will not have the army he wants.
All my preparation was useless because one person decided he did not want to follow the canon storyline. Or is it because of my appearance in this world that Gwyndolin decided not to follow the canon? If so, I will take it.
At least something good happened from my being in this world because if this is the ’Bad Ending’ world, a LOT of people would die. Even the good ending has at least a hundred thousand people die, not in battle but as a sacrifice. At least a hundred thousand innocent people will die as a sacrifice.
"Cat, we are here."
I snap from my thoughts when I hear Jonathan’s voice. He and Veronica Yorn decided to come with me. A weird combination of people that are willing to be my retainer, but they are good people.
Well... I would not say that they are good. They are useful and not crazy.... Too crazy.
I look out of the carriage and see the imposing sight of Shadowfall City, the ancient city that never knew defeat and the city where the biggest war meeting will start.
I can see a group of people waiting for us in front of the gate. Because of the talent I stole, I can see who they are. They are the Cunningham Family, and leading them is someone who starts to have a title known throughout the continent.
He is Gwyndolin Alexander Cunningham, the Giver of Life, Master Tactician, Flying Army Commander, and Master Summoner.
