I Try To Enjoy My Life But This Woman Keep Calling Me Villain-Chapter 203: Preparation Before The Meeting Between Two Kingdom
I walk through the corridor of the palace with a serious expression. The king is calling me to the meeting room, and currently, I’m walking to the meeting room. Silva, Hilda, Jonathan, and Jullian stay in their rooms while I’m in this meeting.
It is not a meeting between the Gipan and Tanada Kingdom. It is a meeting before the meeting. This is a meeting between the highest-ranking nobles and people in the kingdom. It looks like the king is going all out in this meeting.
After a minute of walking, we arrived in front of a massive room. The servant looks at me and says,
"This is the meeting room. Please get inside, my lord."
I nod, open the door, and enter the room. I get inside the room and see five people already waiting for me. The first one I see is the king as I bow at him. He smiles and says.
"Raise your head, Grandmaster of Medicine, Gwyndolin, and take a seat."
King’s personal butler takes me to my seat, not too far away from the king. I can see the two old men also sitting not too far away from the king. From the look of their clothes and the position they sit, they must be my fellow Grandmaster.
I have never met them, but I know their description. I looked it up after I got the title of Grandmaster from the king.
The one with light brown hair and green eyes is Todor, the Grandmaster of Magic and the strongest magician in the country. He is an old man, almost reaching his hundred years old. In five years, he will be a hundred years old. I can feel mana rolling out of his body. I can see staff and a magic orb floating next to him. His look alone makes him deserve the title of Grandmaster of Magic. His name is Todor Yerlot.
Sitting next to him is an old woman. She has long gray hair that she tied into a bun and blue eyes. She must be the Grandmaster of the Wave. She is a master of ships and the ocean. She is a former Grand Admiral of the kingdom and got her title after she and her crew beat a group of pirates that outnumbered her and her crew by three times. She beat them through reading the wind and excellent leadership. Her name is Valentine Fouquet.
As for my seat, I sit next to Duke Velqur, Jonathan’s (Catharina’s Fiance) father and the king’s right-hand man. He is the most powerful noble in the entire country, as he has massive territory and ties to the king because his grandmother comes from the royal family. He has money that can be compared to the royal family and also an army that he can move at his command. Officially, as a Duke, he has the same authority as the prince and princess, but unofficially, he has the same power as the Queen.
Standing behind the king is the butler. The personal butler to the king. He might look like a butler, but his aura is an aura of a warrior. King’s personal butler needs to be powerful as they are the last defense for the king.
There is also the unseen guardian of the king above us and behind the wall to my right. They are improving, but it is not enough for me not to notice them, especially when I’m searching for an unseen enemy like right now.
"So! You are the newest Grandmaster, ey?"
I look at Todor and say.
"That is me, yes."
"Grandmaster of Medicine, aye? It is a shame that you cannot become a Grandmaster of Magic."
"Huh? Why are you saying that, Grandmaster of Magic, Todor?"
"Call me Todor, lad. As for your question..."
I can see his eyes shine a little and smile.
"Your mana. I can feel it rolling out of you. I can gaze at it. If my mana is a massive lake, yours is like an endless ocean. Deep and wide. An ocean with no bottom and without an end. What a terrifying thing you are. What makes matters more interesting? It keeps growing. It is slow, but it is growing."
I look at him in surprise, not because of his ability to see my mana but rather his explanation. He said that I can grow. It is slow, but I’m growing. Does that mean I can level up? That is huge. Does that mean I can get new skills or something? Or is it just my stats that are growing? I need to investigate it.
"An abyss that keeps growing. What a monster you are."
"Please don’t call me a monster, Todor. I’m a human and proud of it."
"Hah! That is not what I mean, lad. I’m saying that as a compliment because a normal human cannot grow like you."
"Then I will take that compliment and get even stronger."
"Bwahahaha! I like you. You are saying that not because you are hungry for power but rather you are saying that because you want to improve yourself. You are hungry for power but not controlled by it. That is good! That is a good thing to have. How about this? I want to see you grow even more powerful. Become my student for a few years. I will give you all my knowledge and nurture you so you can reach your peak. How about it?"
I smile at him and say.
"I’m sorry to say this, but I cannot accept it. I’m an heir, and I need to fulfill my duty."
"It is only a few years, you know? Ten years tops."
"I’m sorry, but I will still reject your offer."
"But–"
"Bah! Leave him alone, you old fox. He did not want your teaching and wanted to enjoy his life. Don’t force him to be you, who likes to stay in his tower without leaving for a year or two."
The Grandmaster of the Wave, Valentine, came to my rescue.
"Shut it, you old fish. I cannot let this diamond uncut! I need to polish him and make him even greater than any magician in the world!"
"Hmph! He has already done that. He is the reason why those bastards from Gokuya fail to penetrate our southern border. He can summon creatures as tall as our wall and release a healing spell that can even heal the grievous injury. What can you teach him?"
"Hmph! I may not be able to teach him destructive magic, but I can teach him utility magic! Something that only a magician with great control can do! Illusion! Divination! Conjuration! Transmutation! Or even the strongest magic of it all! Graviturgy Magic!"
Graviturgy magic is the strongest of it all? Well, we have different opinions. The strongest magic in Second Life is Death Magic, and I have a feeling it is still the same here. It is so strong that every high-ranking player needs some kind of Instant Death resistance item or skill to prevent any players or boss with this kind of magic from killing them instantly.
It is to the point that players with Instant Death builds ask the dev to buff them as if they are not powerful enough. Of course, the dev ignores them and even makes many bosses in the upper level have immunity to Instant Death.
Because of this, a lot of high-level Instant Death players quit and get a new account. Some of them are still using the Instant Death build, but now they have a second class that can do regular damage because a lot of Instant Death jobs have powerful DPS skills and spells.
"Urgh. Here he goes."
Valentine looks at me and says.
"Sorry about him. He is always like that when he talks about magic."
"Don’t worry about it. I know someone like him who likes magic more than anything."
One of my guild members is that kind of person. He likes the story, theory, and even application of magic in Second Life. He is a nerd about magic, and we love him for it. Even though he is too much sometimes.
"Really? That must be tough for you."
"Not really. He is a great friend and a good teammate in a fight. He knows which magic to use and when to use it. I still remember his quote, ’Great Magician is the magician who knows what kind of spell to use and when to use it. We are warriors of wisdom. We use our magic wisely.’. That is the person he is."
I look at them and see Todor nodding his head in agreement while Valentine looks at me intensely. After a few seconds, she says.
"Let me meet this person."
"Huh?"
"He looks like a person who has a great head on his shoulders. Most magicians on my ship are either too arrogant for their own good or someone who likes to show off. Nothing in between."
I want to say something, but before I can do that, the door opens, and I can see three people get inside the room. They sit next to the other grandmaster, and the king gets up from his chair.
"We are all here. Let’s start this meeting."
