"I promise that I will not go there if I can. However, I cannot promise you that I will not go there forever. I don’t know if the king or my father decided not to send me there as a diplomat or something."
He nods and says.

Vida nods her head in understanding.

A young man is holding a glass of wine in his hand while looking out of his room. This man is Theodulf Hayes, the crown prince of the Tanada Kingdom, one of the twin kingdoms. He takes a sip of his wine and releases a tired sigh.
He did not know what his father was thinking, but he knew that his advisors were the ones to blame. Moving their army to the western border is a bad move, and they are starting to feel the consequences.
The Gipan Kingdom had already stopped trading with them and even rejected all the merchants from their kingdom. Many merchants and nobles were already demanding answers from the king, but the king ignored them.
He can already hear the talk of the merchant family wanting to move to the greener pasture, which will be a problem. Most of those merchant families can move to the Gipan Kingdom and get even richer.
Most of those families are from the western part of his kingdom, and their options are two. They can go to the east and trade with the Elven Kingdoms, or they can go to the west and trade with the Gipan Kingdom.
If they go east, that is good. They still stay in his kingdom and only change their trading partner to the elven kingdom. However, that is a small chance of happening if the merchant families think like him.
The reason? The Gipan Kingdom offers a bigger profit than the elven kingdom. They are the supplier of a healing kingdom that is so effective that many nobles want some of it to feed their soldiers who get injured from fighting monsters roaming around their territory.
The Elven Kingdom let them buy a lot of food for cheap, and they could sell them to the eastern or northern continent. However, to obtain a profit, they need to spend a lot of money on the preparation. They need to go to other continents, after all. They need to spend money on ships, on guard, their rations, and taxes when they land on the other continents.
They need a year or two to let them make a large profit.
The Gipan Kingdom, on the other hand, is close to them, and they only need to hire a group of adventurers to guard the convoy, buy a bunch of carriages, and then buy the goods. Done. The money they spend is WAY less than when they trade with the elven kingdom.
