Chapter 102: Chapter 102: Six Direct Subordinate

"Black Rose? As in the opposite of White Lily?"

I look at her in confusion.

"Yeah. The Game Dev gave up on the name of the last boss’ organization. In one of the interviews, they even admit that they are using a dice to decide which name they will use."

"What is the other’s name?"

"Hmmm? Dark Kraken, Twelve Star of Chaos, Black Hydra, Black Widow, and Verlon’s Chosen"

"Star of Chaos is a great name. Also, what is the last one? Are they a cult or something?"

"Star of Chaos and Verlon’s Chosen are great names, but they are too on the nose of their goal. They are a cult, a doomsday cult. Black Rose is a cult that wants to resurrect the God of Darkness, Chaos, and Murder, Verlon."

"By the sound of it, he is bad news."

"Very bad news. The last boss fight has three scenarios. If the player manages to kill all the direct subordinates of the last boss, Verlon will not be at his full power. If the player only manages to kill half or more subordinates, he will weaken a little. If the player is only able to kill less than half, Verlon will be at full power, and it will be the hardest fight."

That is worrying. How many direct subordinates does this man have, and where can I find them?

"How many of them?"

"Huh? Oh! The direct subordinate? There are six of them."

"Six? Can you tell me about all of them?"

"Of course. We need to work together so that things cannot resurrect. The first and the weakest will be Andreas, the Puppeteer."

"Puppeteer? Is it like Jonathan’s talent?"

"Mine or yours?"

"The one under my wing, not yours."

"No. Andreas’ talent is not controlling people or objects but rather enchanting. He can enchant an object and create an effect that he can use in battle. His favorite ones will be Brainwash Effect, Maddening Effect, and Weakening Effect. Lucky for us, he cannot use his brainwashing effect without a long preparation and close proximity to his target. We were good as long as we did not give him time to prepare. If we can catch him unprepared, he is an easy target to take down."

"Do you know his face?"

"I will tell you how they look later. I will even ask someone to draw them from my memory."

"I see. Thank you."

"Not a problem. Anyway, the second one will be Terax. He did not have great physical ability, but his magic was the most annoying one. Terax is a necromancer. He can create thousands of zombies at once and raise a skeleton of up to ten thousand if given enough time. Not only that, but his curse is also the most annoying, as it gives massive debuffs to the player’s party and army. Other than debuff, he also can cast a curse that reduces your HP every second, and if you did not have anyone who can cure that, you are as good as gone."

"Necromancer and Enchanter, that is a terrifying combination."

In Second Life, those two jobs are the Meta combination for late-game content. Enchanter in the Second Life can enchant the undead the Necromancer summons permanently. What makes it even more powerful, the Enchanting spell can stack up to five times.

The only downside for this combination is their weakness in holy-type attacks. Enchanter can boost the undead stats but also boosts their weakness to holy-type attacks. That is why this Meta job is not used in PvP because many people can counter this combination.

Classes like Paladin, Cleric, Priest, Saint, and Miko are the most favorite class to counter the Necromancer-Enchanter combo.

"Yup. The players of White Lily need to defeat one of them before they reach the end game because they will fight side by side, which is a tough cookie to defeat."

"I see. What about the others?"

"The next one will be Yulia. She is a changeling woman who can change into a giant Fly Monster that releases and buffs the monster around her. She also can sacrifice the monster around her to make her body more powerful and her poison and disease more powerful."

I frown a little at that information. I met her before. I met her when I was helping the Luzia Kingdom. She is that woman who is crazy and changes into that giant fly monster. She is the one spreading the disease in the Luzia Kingdom, and now I understand why the disease has Necrotic Energy surrounding it.

She is not the sole creator of this disease. Terax must be the one helping her in spreading this disease in the Luzia Kingdom. Killing the people using this disease will spread the Necrotic energy around the disease, and Terax and his group will get an army of undead. If this disease spreads to the entire kingdom... There will be at least a hundred thousand of them.

And that is the most pessimistic number I can give. The Luzia Kingdom might have more than two hundred thousand people at least and one million people at most.

"That is disturbing. I once fought her."

"Truly? How is it? Have you managed to defeat her? The fight will get hard if we do not defeat her in the earlier gameplay. She is the biggest potential among the Direct subordinates. Her power grows the more she eats monsters."

"Wait. Are you saying the monsters she sacrifices will strengthen her body permanently?"

"Yes. However, the more she eats, the more inhumane her look becomes."

"Ah, I see. That is why she did not keep eating monsters. To let her blend into civilization."

"That is correct."

I nod in understanding and say.

"What about the others?"

"The fourth member will be Priscilla. She is a tank. She has a unique talent that lets her only take one damage. Burst damage will be useless against her, and the most effective thing to use against her is special attack effects like [Burn], [Poison], and [Curse]. However, her resistance is high enough that a low to mid-level debuff or special attack effect will not work on her."

Another troublesome opponent. I can think of another way to defeat her—attack Speed. In Second Life, Attack Speed is a great Stats to use if combined with special effect stats like [Poison] and [Burn] that stack.

My guild once encountered someone with a high-level attack speed, and boy, do we struggle to fight against her. She uses a combination of Attack Speed, Movement Speed, and Special Attack Effect. We need to trap her and use a lot of cleansers to fight her and her party.

I did not have high attack speed, but I have a few spells that can cause a high-level special attack effect. All of them are [Poison] because it was coming from my [Druid] class, but that should be enough.

"The fifth member is Shakmeh. He is another tank but more of an off-tank than the main tank. He is a great buffer. While he cannot buff more than three allies, his buff is so great that he did not need more than three allies coming with him."

"What kind of buff are we talking about?"

"His most powerful buff lets his allies’ weapons bypass any defenses for one hundred seconds."

"What? Are you serious? That means the tank will be useless fighting against him and his group."

"Yup. The only weakness is that he cannot move for one hundred seconds. If he is distracted, the buff will fail. Unlucky for any player, Priscilla is coming with him in any battle."

That means we need a high Movement Speed or Stealthy character to reach Shakmeh and cancel the buff before they can kill one of us. This is not as difficult as Priscilla, but I did not know what kind of buff he had other than this one.

Buffers are great when they know how to use them. Especially when the buffer is a tank. You do not need to protect them and only need to make sure you are close to the buffer to get the buff.

"The sixth and the last member is Isaiah. She is a healer. Unlike a normal one, she is tough to beat, however. She has a talent that lets her teleport around the battlefield. In the game, her teleport cooldown is ten seconds, and the usual way to beat her is using long-range fighters like archers and mages who can predict her movement."

I don’t know the range, but she is correct. We need someone who can predict her movement or make a coordinated attack. One attacked to waste her teleportation ability and then attacked once again once she used it.

However, I have a feeling there will be many people protecting her as she is a healer.

"I see. That is the Sixth Direct Subordinate. What about the main boss? The leader of Black Rose? Do you know his talent and overall power?"

She looks at me for a few seconds and shakes her head.

"I don’t know."
