I Transmigrated Into A Fantasy World To Farm And Build Houses!-Chapter 475: A Tour of the Factories
Eric had initially worried that the Snow Wolves with their keen sense of smell wouldn’t be used to it. As a result, when he turned his head to look, these Snow Wolves were already immersed in the sight of endless meat and eggs that couldn’t possibly all be gathered. Their eyes didn’t blink at all; where would they have the mind to care about the smell?
Their brains were already overloaded.
Already astonished by the boundless amount of food in the fields, which they had only recently gotten used to, they now saw so many rabbits, chickens, and ducks raised so fat. Even if they were just small animals they usually didn’t bother catching, the sheer quantity was overwhelming!
The places raising prickly pigs, horned cows, and curved-horn electric goats were quite far from here. These types all had aggressive natures and also had to be separated. Eric fenced off a hill specifically to raise these types of animals.
Their attack power was quite strong, and the small beastmen were afraid they couldn’t handle them, so the people in charge were Horned Goat people and Snow Wolves.
The dormitory was right at the foot of the hill. Several beastmen were assigned to be in charge of an area, watching over these magic beasts to prevent them from running away.
The number of these magic beasts was quite small, having been caught not long ago. Their wild nature was still heavy, making them harder to tame than ordinary wild beasts. Eric raised them only for meat, so he just let them reproduce freely up there.
Wait another year or two, and there wouldn’t be a lack of large magic beasts either. Whatever was lacking here, ownerless wasteland was not one of them.
The Hadu tribe now had plenty of manpower, and there were many warriors; patrolling a territory several times larger was possible. Later, when the number of prickly pigs and other magic beasts increased, another hill would be fenced off to raise them.
Hearing Eric’s plan, a group of Snow Wolves silently opened their mouths. Afraid of revealing a countrified look and losing face for their tribe, they silently kept straight faces, but their eyes were full of a look that said they didn’t understand but still found it impressive.
In the glass factory, transparent and shiny sheets of glass were all placed in the warehouse according to Eric’s request. Apart from the Ox-Head tribe, no beastman tribe had used glass for windows yet; it was too luxurious. Snow Wolves had never seen so much glass either.
The slaughterhouse usually involved choosing an empty spot and slaughtering on the spot to divide the meat. But here, the slaughtering of magic beasts was processed. On a large cement floor, there were specialized buckets to catch magic beast blood. When full, they were taken to the cafeteria to make blood pudding.
The peeled fur and skins were taken directly to the room next door to clean off fat and bloodstains, waiting to be accumulated and tanned together.
The remaining meat and bones were all chopped into different portions. Internal organs were taken to the well in front of the door, where several beastmen were specifically in charge of washing them. Once everything was done, it was taken to the cafeteria.
At the cement factory, cart after cart of gray-white cement was transported out, sent directly to the construction site to be mixed with gravel into concrete. Having free time these past few days, Bruno started leading the construction team to build houses continuously again.
After the harvest was complete and raw materials were sufficient, the non-staple food factory also started operating.
Napa cabbage, green beans, radishes, potatoes, and various beans all had a bumper harvest; even a whole winter wouldn’t be enough to eat them all. Grain and beans could be kept for a long time, but vegetables spoiled easily; stored in a cellar, they would only last a few months.
Many Cat tribe, Rabbit tribe, Mouse tribe, Horned Goat people, and Snow Wolves, regardless of race, harmoniously and tacitly pickled sauerkraut, sour green beans, pickled peppers, and chopped chili together.
There were also rooms specializing in making vermicelli, rice noodles, and rooms processing wheat flour, corn flour, and glutinous rice flour. Eric categorized these things as non-staple foods.
Eric didn’t take these people to see the paper factory; paper was currently still a secret. Toilet paper and writing paper were made together; the former was used by everyone and didn’t need secrecy, but the latter couldn’t be shown.
After visiting several factories, the Snow Wolves following behind Eric and Max had turned into a group of wandering souls. Too many things that shocked them suddenly appeared before their eyes. Their brains were completely overloaded, and even their exclamations grew quieter, afraid of missing something by not looking clearly.
After finishing the tour, half the day had passed. Eric looked at the sky and decided to take them to the cafeteria for dinner.
After arriving here, these Snow Wolves had eaten in the fields. It wasn’t until the last two days when they weren’t busy anymore that they followed other beastmen to the cafeteria. Only then did they meet Eric; otherwise, who knew when they would have been discovered.
At first, following the beastmen into the tribe to eat, they had been astonished for a long time.
Looking around, although in the distance there were dilapidated tents just like in their tribes, the cafeteria before their eyes, along with the neat, brand-new gray-red brick houses surrounding it, and the straight gray road, were even more majestic than the Red Grass tribe they had been to.
They also didn’t know where the Hadu tribe found those red bricks, each one the same size. The houses built were even more beautiful than the best stone houses in their tribe, without a single gap; everything was filled with that gray material at the joints. It looked very beautiful and certainly wouldn’t leak rain.
After walking a round with Eric, only then did they know that it wasn’t stone, but something called brick made by the Hadu tribe themselves.
Returning to the tribe, they still looked at the surrounding architecture with extreme admiration and curiosity until they stepped into the spacious and bright cafeteria. These Snow Wolves consciously took their rice and went to sit in the seats reserved for large beastmen.
Some beastmen had already arrived around to eat. Sam and the others were serving rice and soup in front of ceramic pots and large steamers.
Dinner today was steamed fish heads with chopped chili, spicy boiled fish, salt and pepper shrimp, and bones stewed with soy sauce, plus steamed buns as big as a fist.
Again, new dishes they had never eaten. They also didn’t know exactly how many new dishes the Hadu tribe knew how to make. The Snow Wolves swallowed their saliva frantically, holding their portions of food and eating ravenously.
They were still at the stage of roasting meat. At most, they changed to boiling it without adding seasoning; boiling made it tough and fishy, not as tasty as roasting. Where would they have seen such diverse dishes?
After coming here, the happiest time was mealtime. These Snow Wolves dared not imagine what it would be like after returning to their tribe. Having eaten the Hadu tribe’s food, eating their own tribe’s roasted meat again would practically be impossible to swallow.
A comfortable living environment, diverse food, well-tailored cotton clothes, and even pastries that only nobles could eat. They even saw that the cubs here could eat candy as they pleased.
Just how wealthy a tribe was this? In the hearts of the Snow Wolves, exclamations rose in unison: Thomas and those few Snow Wolves were still too modest in their descriptions!
Eric and Max exchanged a glance, both smiling. Seeing the expressions of these people, they knew the matter was more than half successful.
Sure enough, the next day, Snow Wolves began to bid farewell one after another, anxious to bring the situation here back to report to their chiefs. If they could really come here to live, fear that the clansmen would wake up laughing even from dreams.
The Hadu tribe and the Golden Kingdom were different. Although there were also many different races here, everyone relied on their own hands to work hard to live, not by plundering money.
Moreover, there were mostly Snow Wolves here; they certainly wouldn’t feel unaccustomed to coming here.
Eric didn’t have time to see off each person, only telling someone to tell them not to worry about being a burden if they came in winter.
The Hadu tribe had long prepared food for newly joining clansmen. Arriving early meant being allocated housing early; arriving later meant living farther from the center (i.e., the cafeteria).
The Snow Wolves took these words to heart, preparing to seek their chiefs’ opinions after returning.
