Chapter 511 - 511 Invincible: Immortal vs. The Regulator, The Robot's Loyalty, New Guardians Shapesmith and Bulletproof, and A Slap of Reality.

Mark sat on his couch watching the news. Death is abundant in the Invincible universe; that is an undeniable fact. During the Flaxian invasion alone, there were hundreds of deaths, and it could have been much worse. Every villain has their own death count because, in this universe, villains care little for people's lives. However, there is some comfort for superheroes with good hearts, and that is that the more supervillains they defeat, the fewer deaths there will be.

But, this is not the case for Invincible. He had been having a rough few weeks. Every time he looked at the news with people crying over what happened in Chicago, he knew that this time it wasn't a supervillain. He couldn't feel better using the method of self-consolation, because every tear shed and every death was caused by his father, Omni-Man, and that's something he can't easily erase from his mind. In fact, unlike the canon, he feels even worse, as he remembers how he fought to stop them from killing his father.

Mark looked at his hands, still recalling the blood of the Maulers from that moment. Even though he didn't kill Angstrom and the Maulers, he feels responsible. He believes that if he hadn't shown up at that moment, the world would have taken a better path.

"Damn, I make one mistake after another"

Amber, despite everything, is still his girlfriend, and she came to support him while trying to convince him that none of it was his fault. But deep down, Mark doesn't know how much of that is true...

'For now, I can only keep trying to prove that I'm a hero...'

...

The Guardians of the Globe gathered after dealing with the Giant issue. However, there was also someone else there, and it was Cecil.

"Too many mistakes, too much destruction!"

"Please, Cecil, the Cyclops was basically a Kaiju, it's a huge victory that no civilians died," Rex shrugged.

"Shut up, I can't believe all the Guardians together took so long to defeat a single villain!" Cecil wanted to scold them more, but he restrained himself. "This time, everything was resolved by Walker in an instant; however, comparing you to him is unfair for now; there will be changes..."

Eve frowned, "What kind of changes?"

"We analyzed his last fifteen battles and discovered two weaknesses..."

At that moment, Immortal descended and stood next to Cecil. This made Rudolph frown.

"From now on, he will be the new leader... two thousand years of experience should be more than enough to fulfill the position."

Rex started mocking how the entrance seemed exaggeratedly coordinated as if it had been prepared in advance.

"Director, is there some dissatisfaction with my work?" Rudolph couldn't help but interrupt, with two copies of Robot standing by his side like bodyguards.

"Rudolph, you have one of the brightest minds in the world, if not in history. However, the results speak for themselves. Whether it's your speed in decision-making or the undeniable fact that you struggle to control your teammates..."

Rex, in particular, was the one who paid the least attention to Robot, and now that Robot had become a suspicious man with a beard, even less so. This problem had always existed, but you couldn't blame Robot for everything; after all, his creator was a miserable man who lived in constant agony, and having the charisma of a beloved leader is not something easily achieved. Now, Rudolph has that problem.

"But..."

"Don't respond to your superior!" Immortal interrupted Rudolph, "At first, I didn't want to do this, but watching you act makes me regret that you are our replacements: immature, weak, with barely decent teamwork, but more than anything, what I can't accept is the overwhelming egos of some of you!"

The Guardians clenched their fists and gritted their teeth at such an insult, but it made Immortal's point.

"Look, you can't even handle criticism!"

"You say that like you would've done better..." Allen approached with a casual attitude from the entrance, yet in his eyes, there was a mockery of Immortal.

"Walker? You?"

Immortal raised his hand to prevent Cecil from speaking and that he would handle it. Cecil wanted to stop him, but Immortal took a step forward to confront Allen.

"This has nothing to do with you, VISITOR..."

Immortal's words were cutting, implying that Allen was just a stranger and setting the hostile tone for the discussion.

"I'm surprised you can see that I'm not from this world, considering that in twenty years you never could see Omni-Man's true nature. I thought you were blind..." Allen went one crueler with his words causing everyone to hold their breath.

"What?" Immortal growled, but controlled himself. "Allen Walker, do you think you have any right to anything involving this world? Do you think just because of your strength, I'll let you do whatever you want? I've watched over humanity for two thousand years!"

Immortal put his finger on Allen's chest while shouting in his face. It was a trap; Immortal wanted Allen to reveal his hidden nature and kill him. He could revive if someone gathered the pieces, but with this, he would prove that Allen was a monster.

But Allen's gaze remained calm... from beginning to end. Before him stood an ancestor of humanity, a man who had lived for thousands of years, known many significant eras in human history, been involved in so many nations, been a king, been a president, been a pharaoh. Before Allen stood the last two thousand years of human history...

"Pathetic..."

"...!"

Immortal's eyes widened. Those who knew his true identity would either be afraid, respectful, or even amazed, but it was the first time someone looked at him like this, with contempt as if Allen were seeing the most ridiculous and incompetent person in the world.

"So, you're telling me that in two thousand years, this is the best you could do?"

"What?!"

"Massacres, revolutions, slavery, witch hunts, heresy trials, many senseless deaths... World War I and World War II... I can go on for three more hours talking about everything bad in these two thousand years... Immortal!"

Immortal felt like he was losing his ability to stand and was being pressed by an invisible force. He began to sweat as he made a monumental effort to stay standing, but every word from Allen weighed a hundred tons.

"Two thousand years, and in this era, you're a superhero incapable of freeing the world from its worst torment, called supervillains."

Immortal looked into Allen's eyes, but seeing the coldness in them, he couldn't take it anymore and knelt. He did not know the reason for this weakness it was as if something was judging him.

'Why? Why?! WHY AM I UNABLE TO REPLY?!'

"Besides dying twice, what could you do against Omni-Man?"

"I...I... !"

Allen despised Immortal, not only because the guy who so proudly claimed to be a veteran superhero ended up retiring in the future. But because at the end of Invincible, Immortal was crowned King of the world, but went insane.

Allen saw that Immortal was no longer resisting and let go, Immortal lowered his head as if his soul had been trapped.

"Damn..."

...

Then Allen looked at Cecil and scanned everyone with his gaze.

"In my opinion, if you want to hear it, you should give Rudolph more time. He's only been the leader of the Guardians for a few months. He may lack experience, but compared to this guy, he'll learn well..."

Cecil looked at Immortal, the man had been broken without even being hit, so Cecil could only listen to Allen.

"Alright, Rudolph will remain as leader..."

Allen nodded toward Rudolph, after greeting Eve, Amanda, and Kate, he went to a separate room to speak with him.

...

Once inside, both Robot and Rudolph kneeled.

"Thank you so much, Emperor..."

Allen raised an eyebrow, watching this action. After seeing Rudolph's intentions, it seemed sincere, which was strange, but Allen soon came to a conclusion.

"If there's one thing Cecil was right about, it's that you're one of the brightest minds in this world..."

"A waste of words for me..."

"Tell me, Rudolph, how much do you know?"

Rudolph lifted his head, looking at Allen's back. There was a strange look in his eyes, a mix of admiration and respect.

"I already knew about the existence of other worlds but lacked the technology and interest to investigate them further. It wasn't until Cecil concluded that he used to search for another Sinclair that I could access that technology."

Rudolph paused, observing Allen's reaction to hearing that Cecil had obtained another Sinclair, but Allen didn't even change his expression, did he already know, or simply didn't care?

Allen turned to answer Rudolph's question. "Cecil does questionable things, Cecil can be a piece of shit many times, but behind him are seven billion people who depend on him to survive..."

Rudolph lowered his head in understanding. Cecil might be one step away from being a villain, but he's a necessary evil.

"As expected from Your Majesty..."

"Enough with the flattery, continue..."

"I stole his technology and created my own portal. Since I had no idea where it would lead, I tracked the massive energy source you possess..."

"In short, you used me as a beacon heh"

"My sincerest apologies."

"But tell me, Rudolph, what's the reason for this change of attitude?"

"I couldn't help but admire you," Rudolph smiled, "In one day, the Emperor of Mankind unified the world."

"Oh..."

Artoria – I will remember that moment throughout eternity...

Albedo – It was a moment etched into my heart.

2B – It was the most important moment for humanity... and I'm honored to have had the privilege to be there.

"On the second day, Your Majesty traveled around the world, fixing cities and healing the wounded."

Nokotan – Of course, we helped too~

Bocchi – Well, i-it was something simple, w-with the massive amount of resources accumulated in the inventory.

Allen still receives chests and credits, even though it's no longer mentioned because, with his power, he hardly needs anything he cannot create out of thin air. Inside them, there are all kinds of potions, miraculous remedies, healing artifacts, and recovery items. With all that, healing a million severely injured people was possible.

Allen spoke calmly, "Normally I wouldn't do something like this, I'm not a god, I'm not a saint, I can't spend my life looking after people... However, as Emperor, I can't ignore it. Every life on Earth falls under my responsibility."

"Of course you are like that," Rudolph smiled deeply, "If it weren't for my privileged brain no one would have cared about the miserable state of someone like me, but you did."

Allen frowned, "As I said, I'm not a hero, I just did it on a whim."

Rudolph shook his head and gave an incredulous and amused look, "On the third day, you founded the unified government under your command and established a unique constitution."

Allen smiled, "This wasn't just my achievement; I had the help of wonderful women."

Wednesday – *Cough* A necessary step. Humanity needs limits and rules.

Esdeath – Rights, laws, everything must be addressed immediately, or uprisings will occur...

Both Wednesday and Esdeath blushed but tried to hide it.

"I see," Rudolph walked around the room but could see nothing. Before being helped by Allen, Rudolph had scanned Allen's surroundings more than once with different devices because he always had the feeling that he wasn't alone. His theory was confirmed when mysterious women appeared in the Machine Head incident. But now, he wouldn't dare investigate further.

"On the fourth day, you fixed the remaining infrastructure, from oil refineries to nuclear plants..."

"Invincible and Omni-Man were ruthless; they truly wanted to keep humanity in a state where its progress was stalled, so they killed all the professionals capable of operating nuclear plants. It would take decades to educate people capable of replacing the tens of thousands of specialists killed..." Allen shrugged, "In that regard, the other Rudolph helped me with his robots. I took care of making copies so they could operate those places."

In reality, it was the system; by simply using credits, it created one hundred thousand copies of "Robot," which was more than enough to reactivate the entire industry.

"On the fifth day, hunger was eradicated..." Robot smiled ironically. This problem hadn't been solved in thousands of years, and it wouldn't be solved for many more. But Allen Walker eradicated hunger in one day.

"..."

"On the sixth day, world peace was established."

That was the easiest of all. There were people who, even knowing it was useless, tried to prevent their nations from disappearing. Small armies were gathering everywhere. However, all that Allen did the world saw with his own eyes. With every action, the world witnessed the future before them, and all under the Emperor's hand.

"On the seventh day, everyone laid down their weapons and trusted the Emperor. So, I followed the example of my variant to serve you."

Allen observed Rudolph's sincerity.

"Majesty, you only need to give the order... and I will make this world, your world..."

Rudolph, who would once become the world's dictator, killing all the heroes and villains, now offers the world to someone he deems worthy of being the king of the world.

Allen took a while to respond to Rudolph's words, "That won't happen in this world..."

"..." Rudolph had already anticipated that answer, but still, he was disappointed.

"In Universe 2, humanity faced extinction, but in this world, still standing, doing so would mean spilling blood... a lot of blood."

Rudolph nodded, but in his mind, he believed that the great bloodshed was a small price to pay to steer humanity toward its greatest golden age under the Emperor's command.

Allen left that place, leaving Robot to work. The man looked at Allen's sword and then remembered Immortal and his attempt to portray his Emperor as a monster.

"That fool Immortal..."

...

[Host, do you still feel uncomfortable with so much fanaticism toward you?~]

'I'll bear it...'

Allen arrived at the training room to see two new guardians. One was Caucasian with brown hair and a big smile, wearing an orange and blue suit with an attempt at an S on his chest and a blue mask. His body appeared thin, but in the superhero world, someone scrawny could have incredible power.

He was Shapesmith, secretly a Martian, the same one who replaced Rus Livingstone. This young Martian wanted to escape his planet and chose that form. He had no intention of letting the real Rus Livingstone be infected by the Sequid, but that's what happened. Unfortunately for him, Allen found out, and he was captured as soon as he landed. Cecil, knowing the potential of this race, offered him a position as a guardian in exchange for living on Earth.

The other new guardian was an African American with braided hair and an athletic build, wearing glasses similar to Invincible's but yellow, and a yellow and red suit. His name was Zandale Randolph, and his superhero alter ego was Bulletproof. He was also someone who needed to join the guardians to compensate for the lack of power in the team.

Upon seeing Allen, Amanda ran and jumped on him. Kate clicked her tongue while Eve shook her head. Rex frowned, and there was little reaction from the others, although Shapesmith stepped back as if afraid to be near. On the other hand, Bulletproof surprised everyone by stepping forward in front of Allen.

"Are you Allen Walker?"

"Do you need me to confirm that?" Allen mocked.

Bulletproof had a sensible personality, so it was rare for him to take such a tone. However, he could be the strongest guardian, though it didn't seem like it.

Bulletproof has the power to absorb kinetic energy, using it to enhance his other superhuman abilities. These include rapid recovery, extraordinary strength, speed, reflexes, and resistance. He is also self-sufficient, invulnerable, and capable of flying and traveling interstellar. His abilities are similar to Invincible's. Strangely, this man chose to live in Invincible's shadow without standing out too much.

"What do you need?"

"The beautiful redhead over there told me you're her boyfriend, however..."

Allen interrupted him with a calm gaze, "Before you continue with whatever you're about to say, think about whether you really want to irritate me. The people who do that don't end up well..."

Bulletproof remained silent but spoke again, "I heard you have other relationships with women. It's not my business to interfere in other people's affairs, but... it seems like a waste for such an incredible girl to be with a womanizer..."

Everyone went silent, including Rex, who was enjoying the spectacle. That fool had just insulted the most dangerous man in the world. Amanda let go of Allen's arm and stepped back.

Allen had matured. Now he was Emperor, he had to act with dignity, right?

Bulletproof's gaze said it all; he was provoking Allen, intending to receive a blow from him. His powers made him almost invulnerable to physical attacks and allowed him to absorb kinetic energy, so the harder he was hit, the stronger he became.

"Mr. Walker, I–"

Bulletproof looked down to see that, in an instant, Allen had driven his fist into his stomach.

"Huh?"

"I'll give you your first lesson. Invulnerability doesn't exist, you simply haven't been hit hard enough..."

Bulletproof stepped back a step and fell to his knees, clutching his stomach, before vomiting. The pain was unbearable, and he could barely breathe. Allen slowly stepped on his head and began pressing down, which would disable his powers.

"Whatever I do or don't do, with whom I wish, is none of your concern..."

"Ahh!"

Bulletproof felt like Allen would kill him at any moment. He tried to seek help, but no one moved. Even though they were technically a team, not even Cecil would take his side to do something so stupid.

'This is bad! This guy is so dangerous! Why did I do something so stupid?! I just wanted to test if my powers worked on him!'

"Don't tell me that just because I defeated Omni-Man and saved the world, I'm a hero. Don't get confused; my job has always been to deal with idiots like you, even if they're superheroes because I'm the Regulator."

Allen stopped stepping on Bulletproof and kicked him in the chest, breaking three ribs and smashing him into the reinforced wall of the room.

"Lesson one learned, kid..." Allen mocked, "If you need more training, you can come to me..."

The guardians paled. Allen may have been an Emperor in Universe 2, but in this one, he was still a son of a bitch, selfish, and with little patience for those who didn't respect him.

A/N: Once I finished the Chapter I thought that maybe it was too hard on Immortal, he has many mistakes he can't beat anyone alone, he ends up retiring at the worst moment leaving the earth without protection, they give him the position of king of the world and he goes crazy, but in the end he tries to be a better person, right?

PS: I think we've strayed too far from the main story and it's time to go back🍷🗿
