I Start with a Mysterious Island-Chapter 131: A Fair Lady’s Invitation

’These people are so reckless! Not even treating their wounds... Just riding their horses all the way here, getting jostled about. Do they have a death wish?’

Lin Li thought to himself as he looked at the bleeding wounds on Guard Captain Liu Jie and his companions.

"Guard Liu, your injuries..." Zhu Xinru said with concern, looking at the bloody wounds on all the guards.

"It’s nothing, Miss. Just superficial wounds. We’ll be fine after we bandage them and rest for a few days," Liu Jie and the other guards said with a smile.

"But you’ve lost so much blood! Please, sit down and rest. Let me treat your wounds..." Zhu Xinru said.

The guards then sat down by the side of the road. Lin Li watched as Miss Zhu approached the guard with the most severe injuries.

She extended her fair right hand. A faint golden Spiritual Light flashed across it, and a small, white ball of light materialized in her palm.

The ball of light was about the size of a pigeon’s egg. Once it fully formed, it left Zhu Xinru’s palm and flew toward the severely injured guard, landing on a gruesome wound on his chest.

The moment the pigeon-egg-sized ball of light touched the wound, the bleeding stopped instantly.

A little over ten seconds later, the gruesome wound, now treated by her Superpower, was already beginning to scab over.

’What a powerful Healing Superpower. Its effect is far more efficient than the small tube of healing ointment I bought at the pharmacy for over three thousand.’

When Lin Li had heard Zhu Xinru offer to treat the injured guards, he had assumed she just meant using some ointment and gauze to bandage their wounds.

He never expected that her "treatment" meant using her awakened Healing Superpower.

After treating the last guard’s wounds, she suddenly felt dizzy. She stumbled and began to fall sideways.

"Miss!!!" her maid, Chunxiang, cried out in alarm. Unfortunately, she reacted too slowly to catch Zhu Xinru in time.

Lin Li, who was watching from the sidelines, happened to be closer. He quickly reached out and caught her by the shoulder, stopping her fall.

Never having been so close to a strange man before, Zhu Xinru quickly pulled away from Lin Li. A blush flashed across her face as she thanked him.

"Thank you."

"You’re welcome."

In contrast to Zhu Xinru’s shy reaction, Lin Li didn’t think much of it.

’A girl was about to fall, and I just happened to be in a position to help her up. It’s a small thing, completely normal back on Blue Star. What’s there to be shy about?’

After helping Zhu Xinru, Lin Li turned his attention back to the guards who had been treated by her Healing Superpower.

The wound on the first guard Zhu Xinru had treated was now completely scabbed over.

’Judging by this,’ he deduced, ’the effect of her Healing Superpower must improve over time for the person treated.’

Zhu Xinru was slightly taken aback when she saw Lin Li immediately turn his attention to the injured guards after helping her. ’Why does he seem more interested in the guards than in me?’ she wondered.

"Miss, are you all right?" Just then, her maid Chunxiang hurried to Zhu Xinru’s side, supporting her as she asked with concern.

"I’m fine," Zhu Xinru told Chunxiang. "I just used a bit too much Spiritual Energy treating Guard Liu and the others. I’ll be all right after a short rest."

Lin Li, who was observing the guards’ recovery, overheard what Zhu Xinru said to her maid and thought to himself.

’At her current cultivation level, Miss Zhu can probably treat seven or eight people at most...’

Liu Jie, having learned the details from Guard Chen, smiled at Lin Li. "Mr. Lin, our young miss was able to escape danger entirely thanks to your help. This is just a small token of our gratitude. I hope you won’t refuse it."

With that, the Guard Captain took a burlap sack from one of his companions and handed it to Lin Li.

Although Lin Li was dying to open the sack and see what Liu Jie’s "small token" was, he knew it would be rude to do so in front of them.

Guard Captain Liu Jie was a trusted confidant of Miss Zhu’s father. Seeing the young man who saved his miss accept the small token of their gratitude, he breathed a sigh of relief.

Lin Li looked at the sack in his hand, thought for a moment, and with a mere thought, the sack vanished, taken into his Mysterious Small Island.

"Ah?" Everyone who saw this gasped in astonishment.

Lin Li glanced around and saw Zhu Xinru and the others staring at him, their faces filled with shock.

"A Storage Spiritual Artifact?" someone asked, bewildered.

"It’s probably not a Storage Spiritual Artifact. He isn’t wearing any accessories. I think he must have awakened a Storage Space Superpower."

"This Mr. Lin is exceptionally talented! To think he awakened not only a Wind Blade Superpower, but a Storage Space Superpower as well."

"A Dual Superpower Cultivator!!!"

Listening to the whispers around him, Lin Li kept his expression neutral, but inwardly, he was quite pleased with their reaction.
