I Returned to the Day He Brought His First Love Home-Chapter 92: Uninvited Guest
Grace was so exhausted from yesterday that she almost didn’t get up this morning.
By the time she arrived at the clothing factory, it was already ten past nine.
Oscar Osborne was already waiting for her at the factory.
"Grace, you’re here? Director Wyatt has been waiting for you for quite a while." Oscar Osborne glanced at Elvis Wyatt and spoke with a smile when he saw her arrive.
Elvis Wyatt didn’t deny it.
He had found out last night that Grace and her team had sold out the entire truckload of twenty thousand garments.
Qian Qing, not daring to carry such a large sum of cash, had gone and knocked on his door late last night.
Elvis Wyatt hadn’t slept a wink all night.
He’d spent the entire night thinking, even considering trying to poach Grace for the factory. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Seeing Grace now, he was so overcome with excitement that for a moment, he didn’t even know what to say.
Grace smiled at Elvis Wyatt. "Director Wyatt, I assume you’ve already heard that we sold all twenty thousand garments yesterday."
"If you follow my sales method and take the factory’s clothes to the surrounding villages, selling them all shouldn’t be too difficult. But you must be fast."
"It won’t take long for word to spread, and I expect others will start copying our strategy. When that happens, the clothes won’t be so easy to sell anymore."
"Yes, yes, excellent! Joy Lloyd and the others already told me. Your method is fantastic. I can mobilize the factory workers to go out and sell the clothes," Elvis Wyatt said excitedly.
Oscar Osborne cleared his throat. "Old Woods, let’s not get our priorities mixed up. We have a partnership, remember? We’ve got tens of thousands of garments waiting for you to manufacture."
"Oh, hahaha, I completely forgot about that! Don’t you worry, it absolutely won’t delay the production schedule." Elvis Wyatt roared with laughter.
The rest of the discussion was left to Oscar Osborne and Elvis Wyatt.
Grace had already briefed Oscar Osborne on all the necessary details beforehand. With his intelligence, she was confident nothing would go wrong.
It wasn’t her place to stay, so Grace found an excuse and left them to it.
October in Prospera Town was hot and dry.
Grace had been so busy lately that she hadn’t taken proper care of her skin, and her face was so dry it was starting to peel.
Since she had some free time, she decided to make a trip to the local co-op to buy some skincare products.
About the only thing available in this era was Friendship Vanishing Cream, so Grace bought two jars.
The clothes people wore on the streets had transitioned from being drab and uniform to being much more colorful.
The entire town, and indeed the entire country, was gradually coming back to life.
Prospera Town had a black market.
Grace had been there to buy things in her past life.
She navigated the familiar route to the black market’s location and found that it was, indeed, still in operation.
It was very discreet, though. After all, private trade hadn’t been fully legalized yet, so one still had to be careful about being reported.
The factory’s efforts to clear its inventory, however, were a collective action, not an individual one, so there was no need to worry about that.
Grace looked around and bought some meat and eggs, and also exchanged for some ration tickets.
By the time she left, her hands were full of bags.
Instead of going back to the factory, she carried her things and headed straight home.
She was surprised, however, to find that there were guests at home.
She didn’t notice them when she first walked in, only realizing there were several people in the living room once she got there.
There was a middle-aged man and woman, who looked to be in their early forties, and they had a girl of about seventeen or eighteen with them.
The girl sat there looking uncomfortable, her head lowered, not saying a word.
Irene Lynch and Gregory Winslow both had grim expressions, a clear sign that the conversation had not been pleasant.
Grace called out, "Mom, Dad."
Irene Lynch looked up, surprised to see Grace home, and then got up and walked out of the room.
"Why are you back so early? Don’t you have work today?" As Irene Lynch spoke, she subconsciously glanced back at the people in the living room.
Grace understood at once. ’Mom clearly doesn’t like these people. They must be here for trouble.’
