I regressed and became the Sword Ice King-Chapter 276 - - Festival 7- Suspicions Arising
’The rankings battle?’
With a subtle flicker in his eyes, he glanced at Sophie, a subtle thought forming in his head.
"Yeah, but like I said, there were a lot of people that day. I’m surprised we could tell her apart even"
"Well, she does seem…special in a way" Brett’s suspicious gaze remained fixated on Sophie until he turned towards Raph. "She’s in your class, right?"
"Yes, she is. A skilful warrior apparently. But we haven’t gotten to the point where I needed to test her".
He replied. ’Heck, I had not even paid her any attention until now…’
He did have a suspicion of her identity now, but he couldn’t exactly point it out.
’Rhett assumed she was part of the Spectators since it would be difficult to tell their smells apart but Brett thinks otherwise’.
He shook his head, pushing his thoughts out. ’I’ll have to find out more in my free time’.
"Um, you guys realize I’m right here, right?" Sophie muttered, a wry smile on her face as the three boys turned towards her in unison.
"Yeah, and so?" Brett muttered. "Raph, enjoy your time while you can. It’s a time of fun and enjoyment, and you won’t get many like this".
"Yeah, and challenge us whenever you feel like it. I promise you I won’t lose a second time".
Raph chuckled lightly. "We’ll see about that".
The two boys walked away after giving each other a reassuring nod.
Raph took that time to find Rita again, but it seemed like she had left her spot.
’Oh….maybe next time?’
He wondered.
"Are we leaving now?" Sophie asked, a sigh escaping her lips as she glanced at another painting.
"Yeah, I guess we can".
Raph turned around to walk away and Sophie followed after. A moment of silence ensued between them as they walked out of the class, stopping right in front of the next.
"Is there anything you want to check out for yourself?" Raph asked.
"Hmm…here?"
"No, it doesn’t have to be here. I’m pretty much done with this, so if you want to check out anywhere, I would advise you to say it now".
She looked up in contemplation until an idea sparked in her head.
"I heard Class Three was doing a Warrior Bout as their Class Event. Do you want to check that out?"
"A warrior bout?"
Raph wasn’t really the type that went about checking other class events out in his past life, so he mostly heard of all these events by word of mouth.
’But the warriors bout? I wonder what that’s all about’.
He was about to walk away when Sophie held his arm.
A moment of silence ensued as they glanced at each other.
"Aren’t you curious?" She asked.
"....well, I am…but I have all the time in the world to figure it out. Besides, what you wish to tell me wouldn’t be what I want to hear".
"No, I’d rather tell you the truth than lie to you".
She said, a moment of pause ensuing between them as she pulled down her arm.
"In fact, I very much want to tell you everything…."
She muttered. ’I obviously don’t’.
"...but I can’t"
Raph raised a brow, turning around and taking a step closer to her. "I can see you have dark mana, Sophie. I don’t know if you’re aware of this, but dark mana is even rarer than divine mana".
He explained. "I’ve seen a few with the same quality as yours, but yours is impeccable. Like you were born with it".
Sophie’s gaze widened at his statement, surprise laced in them as she took a step back.
"I…I see"
"I don’t really care what you’re up to here in this Academy, but if you mean good….then you better not stand against me".
Sophie watched him turn around and walk away, her gaze flickering with a lilac intensity as she repressed the boiling rage within her. ’How dare he? Should I go against Mother’s plans and attack him too?’
If there was one thing she hated about the Great families, it would be their pride, but the Jun household was different in this regard.
They had a lineage of arrogant offspring and parents, and their strength was a testament to that behaviour.
’It’s no wonder the king wants them stripped off from their position so badly’.
A heavy sigh escaped her lips as she quickly walked after him.
Regardless of her feelings and thoughts, she had a duty to fulfil the wishes of her mother.
Her gaze flicked towards his face, the intensity growing within. ’....no matter the obstruction".

Back at the Gate, Elsie and the rest of Team 10 were currently under care by the Healing Mages while Faculty Lecturers had come to aid them.
They were seated at the side of the stairs, the commotion toning down with the instructions of the faculty staff.
The once pristine cemented pathways now had five distinctive craters that spread through the area in cracks, leaving a distinct reminder of the explosion.
The garden had been nearly uprooted by the air force caused by it and some of the plants and leaves had fallen to the ground.
The visitors, though, were unharmed.
Some had continued with their visit while others joined the arranged line to leave the premises.
Elsie, out of the rest of them, seemed to be mostly fine. Her abilities as a werewolf enabled her to heal quickly from scratches and deep wounds but hers was particularly effective considering her lineage.
She was lost in thoughts, memories of the events that unfolded playing in her head.
The sudden explosion would have caused more damage than it already had if not for her quick manipulation of the darkness to swallow most of it.
However, it did nearly deplete all of her Aura Stars.
"Elsie?" Miranda called, her voice subtle as a Healing Maid bandaged her arm.
Elsie turned around, facing upwards, where her senior colleagues were getting treatment.
"I’m sorry, I couldn’t offset the pressure afterwards".
Miranda shook her head, her gaze shifting towards the site of the explosion.
"We would have died if you had not taken charge".
"Yeah, don’t feel bad about it, Elsie. You did good". Romi said with a smile.
’Yeah, don’t feel bad Elsie. In fact, I think the student council will have to reward you after this," Quintasaidd said with a chuckle.
Miranda sighed. "Yeah, besides, this is only the beginning".
Her statement seemed to have driven a cord in her team, their gazes shifting to the Portal Gate as they did so.
Elsie’s brows furrowed, her thoughts reeling in as the Healing Mages walked away after patching up the team.
"Can’t we change the rules? The academy wouldn’t let something like this happen again now, would it?"
Miranda shrugged. "Beats me. The principal should have heard about this but he sent Junior Lecturers to take charge of the matter….it’s obvious that he shows no concern over this".
"But the students, their security matters".
Quinta laughed out loud. "That’s why we’re here, Elsie". He muttered. "It really doesn’t make sense, as you’ve said but it is what it is".
"That’s not a reply you give to ascertain someone". Yuiz said as she punched Quinta lightly.
"Well, the student body also wishes to make use of this as an opportunity".

Elsie raised a brow. "An opportunity?" She asked though she had gotten most of the gist of it by now. "The…System Uprisers?"
A moment of silence ensued between them, the air turning serious around them.
"Yes". Miranda replied as they watched one of the Lecturers approach them.
They retreated to their thoughts as the woman smiled at them while she waved.
"I see you guys are all patched up". Lecturer Fati, a member of the Faculty of Alchemy and Potion Making.
"Well, only physically Miss. Fati"
Lecturer Fati nodded in understanding as she folded her hands and sat next to them.
"We’ve taken care of most of the matters here so you guys are free to join the Festival now"
The team slowly glanced at each other before landing their gazes on Miranda.
Miranda, in turn, slowly looked up at the entrance to the Hall Of Remembrance.
"Well, I would love to but I imagine things wouldn’t be any easier today".
"Oh? What do you mean? There wouldn’t be any more attacks today" Lecturer Fati said with a slight giggle.
Miranda’s eyes narrowed at her statement while Elsie’s ears perched up.
"I see, they wouldn’t be able to get in after this, huh?"
"Yeah…just like I said. If they’ve sent five already and they failed to reach into the academy, then they should be aware that any more attempts would be futile".
The group remained silent for a moment, and soon, Miranda stood up.
"I see. Well, in that case, we should leave you to it".
She turned to her teammates and, nodding her head, she walked up with them, following soon after.

Elsien slowly caught up with her, a raised brow on her face.
"She sounds suspicious".
Miranda turned towards her, a smile spreading across her face. "I know, but we would be even more if we refused to not go".
Elsie raised a brow. "We still are since we left without fighting back".
Miranda shrugged, the rest of the team staring at them in confusion.
"Sometimes, the obvious thing to do is the answer".
They continued their way into the building, a bright luminescence soon transforming the room and igniting the portraits, weapons of old and the world around them.
"I see".
