I Raised A Black Dragon (Web Novel)-Chapter 10: Who Are You?
Chapter 10: Who Are You?
Leonard could see a thin back lying on the bed. The sun was already high, but the room was as dim as the dawn. The witch’s steady breaths echoed in the room. She must be sound asleep, he surmised.
He began to look around the room right away. His intention was clear: to reclaim the revolver that she had taken.
As he walked around the witch’s room nonchalantly, Eleonora didn’t even toss around. For a moment, Leonard looked down at her, sleeping.
Although it’s a very hard fact to admit, he cannot deny her stunning beauty. He often finds it hard to believe she’s an evil witch who has committed plenty of atrocious crimes.
Her eyes glistened blue and lips plum.
“I wish her temper mirrored her appearance.”
Leonard clicked his tongue and leaned over her. His eyes scanned rapidly and brushed the sleeping woman’s disheveled apricot hair.
He’s this close, and there’s no movement.
What happened to the witch who notices even a speck of dust on her vase? Eleonora Asil was a woman who had nothing to do with low blood pressure or anemia, but was rather too energetic to be indisposed.
Thinking so, he was about to stroke her hair.
“I’m here.”
The investigator stopped in his tracks, his arms frozen in the air.
Since when did a boy with black curly hair and dark red eyes sit on the window frame.
Leonard thought the baby looked a little older than this morning.
It can’t be.
The child spoke again in a rather harsh tone.
“If you touch Noah, you’ll pay.”
Noah? Is it Eleonora’s nickname?
The sun shone upon the face of the young boy, baring his charm. He jumped into bed and stood in front of her as if to protect her. Leonard swallowed a laugh at his cuteness.
He lowered his posture in front of the bed and sat down to be in eye contact with the child.
“What did you say your name was?”
“Not yet.”
“Not yet?”
“Noa hasn’t given me a name yet.”
Leonard frowned a little. It was a strange remark.
You look like a kid around three or four years old, and you still don’t have a name. And you didn’t give me your name?
‘…don’t tell me.’ His face suddenly hardened at a ridiculous idea.
A nameless child whose growth is absurdly fast. The strange title, master. Isn’t there something similar to the dragon’s imprint?
Leaning over, the investigator took a closer look at the child’s appearance: black curly hair and dark red eyes.
Yeah, certainly a little bit of growth compared to yesterday, but both his voice and pronunciation have become clearer.
Indeed, Kyle Leonard was an investigator to the bone. Even the smallest clues never go unnoticed.
The missing dragon’s egg. A witch who is a prime suspect. The non-human child the witch is raising.
“Who are you?
The child blinked his dark red eyes. Soon after, he bowed his eyes into a half-moon and laughed. It was a clear, innocent smile. The child shook his head.
“I can’t say.”
“Why?”
“I have to look good to Noah.”
Kyle frowned. Is this the dragon?
His eyes fleeted back to the peaceful sleeping woman.
If Eleonora Asil imprinted the dragon, things would be a hundred and eighty degrees different. She had enough to keep Laurent up and running on her own, and now she got herself the power of the dragon?
Then there is no point in detaining her. Rather than detaining them, he has to plead for her power to be used for the empire.
While Leonard was deep in his thoughts, the child also pondered.
The child liked Noah. It was not just because she was the first human being to see him for the first time.
Every day, he’s been a hassle, but she’s been giving him milk with a blanket to keep him out of the cold. And, if he clings to her, although with a frown, he receives a hug in return.
Noah was basically kind to him, though his expression and behavior were a little different. She even hugged him and slept with him today.
However, had Noah thrown him out as soon as she found him, he might have killed her.
