I Quit Being The Villain-Chapter 77 An Exhausted Mother.
Coming to the realization of what she just thought to herself, her entire face exploded in redness.
Without even thinking, she began playfully hitting Gu Xia's chest with her small petite hands.
"Meanie!"
She puffed out her cheeks as her blue hair fell in front of her face as she looked downward, not being able to look him in the eyes.
A strong feeling of emotion appeared inside her heart causing her entire chest to feel heavy.
This was an alien emotion to the overly nice heroine, apparent because she didn't understand why her heart was thumping rapidly inside her chest.
Seeing that Chang Wen wasn't going to stop hitting his chest anytime soon, Gu Xia sighed and grabbed both of her hands, seizing their 'violent' attacks and pulled her into his embrace.
Gu Xia stopped holding onto her petite hands and instead moved to caress her blue hair which was extremely soft.
Chang Wen's face landed into his broad chest, with her small breaths blowing onto his suit, her hands died down and lost its strength and soon enough her arms hung beside her sides.
She was silent... The only sound that was appearing from her mouth was the soft sound of gentle breathing.
Gu Xia continued to fondle her hair for a little bit until he whispered in her ear.
"Let's go meet your family, ok?"
His words awoke Chang Wen's rational thinking, her eyes widened in shock from the warm contact between herself and Gu Xia.
With a simple nod, she lightly pushed off his chest.
Gu Xia with a small smile forming on his face gave her one last pat on the head before taking a step back, giving her personal space.
"Great, lead the way."
He opened his mouth and ushered for the overly nice heroine to lead the way to her family.
Chang Wen didn't refuse in the slightest and turned around and began walking without uttering a word.
After all... Her emotions were still in turmoil...
So, it wasn't easy for her to even look or speak to Gu Xia at the moment.
Gu Xia didn't mind, he knew her innocent nature.
Following behind, he looked around and noticed many gazes, especially lustful and jealous gazes...
Many of the homeless and thugs all couldn't help but gawk at the beauty of a heroine.
Chang Wen, who was used to such gazes, still felt her body tingle in disgust as she felt the eyes locking onto her assets.
She unconsciously placed her hands over her chest which slightly swayed due to her simple movements of walking.
Some thugs tried to approach the heroine but before they could even get in a 5 foot radius, Gu Xia sent them a sharp glare in which his eyes glowed blood red, causing these scum to feel a sense of death run down their spines.
They smartly backed away with a click of a tongue and a pathetic glare back at Gu Xia.
Walking down the sidewalk which was infested with homeless people, Chang Wen felt a sudden burst of pity enter her heart.
She stopped moving her legs and turned around where she met Gu Xia's eyes with her own.
"C-Can you give them money?"
She requested in a whisper where only they could hear.
Gu Xia's eyebrows raised and he answered instantly.
"No."
Being slightly taken back by such a response, Chang Wen had to know why such a rich young master like himself would not even throw a couple bucks.
"Why not?"
She genuinely was interested in knowing why.
Gu Xia rubbed his forehead as he answered the heroine in an uncaring tone.
"If I gave them money, they would probably spend it on drugs or alcohol, also I'm not obligated to give them money because they're homeless. They should not expect handouts."
His words were cruel and offensive, but he could give two shits. These were his honest thoughts.
Chang Wen couldn't comprehend such an opinion of thinking, so her eyes had a hinge of confusion stimmed inside.
"Stop standing out, lead me to your family."
Gu Xia spoke, not giving the heroine a chance to even open her mouth.
Chang Wen gave a defeated nod before turning back around and walking forward while apologizing inside her head to all the homeless people they passed.
Gu Xia on the other hand, took out his golden cigar case and popped out a Gurkha Royal Courtesan Cigar which costed, 1,000,000$ USD per box.
Placing the overly expensive cigar inside his mouth, he took out his platinum lighter which had small diamonds running down the side and lit his cigar.
Taking a deep inhale, he consumed the smoke and let it rest inside his throat before exhaling the smoke outward into the polluted air.
His body was slightly relaxed and wasn't so stiff. (A/T: Smoking is bad! I don't advise any reader to do such an activity!)
Chang Wen's nose twitched at the sudden smell of a rich, woody and even a little bit powdery smell, looking behind her shoulder and glancing at Gu Xia who was smoking his cigar.
She turned back around and sighed.
"Do you really have to smoke?"
She asked, concerned about his present and future health.
Gu Xia shrugged his shoulders as he exhaled another puff of smoke.
"I'll be fine, I'm a fucking cultivator after all."
He laughed to himself.
Chang Wen rolled her eyes.
10 minutes pass.
Finally after a small journey through a disgusting area, both Chang Wen and Gu Xia arrived in front of a small sushi shop which had a broken sign and small dimmed lights on the outside.
"Is this where your family lives?"
Gu Xia asked as he walked up to the entrance that was covered by a... Black and white rug...
"Sadly, yes... As you can tell, my family isn't really rich."
Chang Wen responded with a depressed tone as she let out a small joke.
"Well, it's only 7pm, let's head in."
Gu Xia pushed up the dirty rug, ducking his head he entered through.
Chang Wen followed behind and performed the same action that was done a couple seconds ago by Gu Xia.
They found themselves inside a small hallway and just a couple feet ahead was a wooden hostess stand which was barely holding up. fr𝚎e𝙬𝚎𝚋𝚗૦ν𝚎𝒍.c૦m
Being unreserved, Gu Xia took a stroll over to the hostess stand and pressed the small bell that stood in place on the cracked surface.
*Ding.* *Ding.*
"I'm coming!"
A exhausted feminine voice spoke, a second later a woman in her late 40's appeared wearing a dirty white chef uniform, which included a coat, hat, and apron and wrapped around her head was a hachimaki.
She had wavy light blue hair which wasn't properly taken care of and light blue eyes which looked like dead fish eyes.
Her figure was slim and her assets had enough meat on them to be admired by the species known as man.
"Mother!"
Chang Wen called out, her hands clasped over her mouth in disbelief when she saw her exhausted mother who was on the brink of passing out from the lack of sleep.
The heroines mother fully took a look at the people who entered her sushi shop/home and saw her daughter who was standing next to an extremely tall handsome male who had white hair and red eyes which seemed to shine, his figure was also outstanding.
"Chang Wen, oh it's been a while since I saw you."
The older woman commented, her eyes sloppily glanced at Gu Xia and continued speaking:
"Who might this be?"
She asked her daughter.
Chang Wen showed a smile as she introduced the man standing next to her.
"This is Gu Xia, the heir to the Gu family."
Her mother nodded her head before looking back at Gu Xia.
"I see, nice to meet you Gu Xia, my name is Chang Tong. I apologize for showing you such a disgusting appearance..."
Chang Tong bowed her head.
Gu Xia waved his right hand back and forth dismissing such a claim that was spoken from the older woman.
"Na, your appearance is perfectly fine, no need to feel any shame or any of the sort."
He assured her with a carefree tone.
Chang Tong lifted her head and showed a small smile while her eyes were half open.
"Thank you."
Not being able to take the sight of her mother being in such a dreadful state, Chang Wen asked her mother a question.
"Mother, have you been getting enough sleep?"
Her voice held pure worry.
Chang Tong looked away in guilt while twiddling her fingers together.
"W-Well... You know how hard it is... I'm behind on the rent and the landlord is getting beyond annoyed with my lateness..."
Sighing in defeat, she really wanted to get some sleep, but because her husband was out of the work field because of his injury, she was forced to work like a horse.
Before Chan Wen could open her mouth she felt a large sturdy hand placed on her shoulder causing her to not speak and instead look to her left.
Gu Xia took the cigar out from his mouth and spoke with a smile on his handsome face.
"Ma'am, I have some good news for you."
